What I like about her is that her voice is actually clear and simple compared to so many others who use too much decoration and throatiness. I like how clean she sounds. Kathleen Battle would be my second choice maybe.

I have met Dawn Upshaw and visited with her backstage 6 times (last time in 2003), have her autograph on 4 discs, 4 little personal notes from her (Last one in 1995), I treasure all those personal contacts as well as her recordings of opera, American musical theater, recitals, Grammy winners, the Gorecki,etc. and I'm not giving any of it away. I treasure it all.
