  • Pearls before a whole lot of swines here. Let the hogs be, stuck in the mud, and can we all move on.

  • It was in the palm of her fucking hand...gold was HERS...and she gave it up like a drunken prom queen in the back seat of a Camaro.

  • Sasha Cohen is definitely my favorite skater. I don't know, I just love watching her on the ice. However, I never deny the fact that she is an inconsistent skater, and I get nervous any time I see her going in for a jump. She has had perfect performances though. They just haven't always been when they mattered most unfortunately, which is disappointing. Still, she's an excellent skater, and that can't be argued.

  • Oh, God! Why do people always rage fan wars in comments? Can't they just sit back and enjoy? It is senseless to argue which skater is the best, because each skater has something he does better and something he does worse than others. It is also stupid to indulge in psychoanalysis about people you don't know. Do you like another skater more? It's all right but why humiliate other skaters? Let everyone stick to their own opinion!

  • @sashafan2 Fans debating about sports or their favorite athletes is not new...it's been around for as long as people have competed. If your preference is to simply watch skating and enjoy then that's exactly what you should do. Just because others make a different choice doesn't mean that they are any less intelligent or sophisticated than you are...it simply means they made a different choice. You don't have to read our posts and you certainly don't have to comment...to each his own.

  • What is so wonderful about her is the daring and dangerous moves she does on the ice but with completey beautiful positions that are never gangly or awkward or ugly. When a skater goes dangerous like this mistakes are more likely. Good on Sasha to go big and take chances with amazing artistry to boot. Still the most wonderous skater I have ever seen over many years. Todays skaters look like crap compared to her although I kind of like Nagasu's moves she reminds me a bit of Sasha.

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa Um...there was nothing "daring and dangerous" about that disastrous "jump" Sasha attempted...that was simply Sasha doing what she always did on the biggest occasions: choking on a very basic element. Your excuses are extraordinary.

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa It's pretty stupid to be "daring and dangerous" when you aren't talented enough to pull it off consistently. Skating intelligently is more important than skating beautifully. Besides, that's just another excuse..."daring and dangerous" is just the latest code words used by Sasha fans who still cannot admit that she constantly choked. When "daring and dangerous" doesn't result in wins, an intelligent skater changes things to become a TRUE champion. Style never trumps substance...

  • @ithinkformyseIf just knock it off with that attitude.

  • The other thing here that most people failed to notice that Sasha had problem with her speed leading to her consistency. Then said, her jumps were lower. But that was just before she had temporarily took a leave from competition before trying to make her comeback. Now, Sasha has more speed, and her jumps are incredible improvements and hopefully, she will make it a habit to train consistently. But however, Sasha created her own legacy mostly, not for her jumps, but for her spirals.

  • @anne91276 Unfortunately, Sasha's legacy is one that reflects disappointment as much as it does great artistry. You can barely find a video of her where she didn't make a mistake...she was an amazing artist, but she was one dimensional and perhaps the most inconsistent elite skater of all time

  • To say that either great artist - Michelle Kwan or Sasha Cohen - is the best skater never to win an Olympic gold is to overlook two of the greatest women athletes ever to compete in figure skating - Midori Ito and Denise Biellman.

I'm not sure you can give the "best never" honor to a particular skater. There is an elite group of them; we should be grateful to all of them for bringing such excellence to the sport.

  • How did American skaters degenerate from the beauty and power of this performance to the crap we have today? Sasha is a legend whose talents have not been equalled since.

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa Sasha is a legend? You go an entire career being unable to skate cleanly when it truly mattered, never ever being the best in the world, and suddenly you are a legend? I think it is really important to remember that substance is more important than style. Sasha Cohen's inability to dominate her sport, coupled with the fact that she is no doubt the most inconsistent skater in history, makes it impossible for her to be a legend. Amazing artist, absolutely. Legend, no way.

  • they are both great skaters. lets leave it at that.

  • Everyone has an opinion whos better than who. Why do humans have to compare all the time.Rather than cooperation its all about competition >no wonder there is always trouble. Why dont you just appreciate the uniqueness and specific skills of all the skaters!! They are all GOOD in my book!

  • DONT COMPARE>> EVERY SKATER HAS A SPECIFIC SKILL IN SOME ELEMENT . STOP BAGGING OUT OTHER SKATERS AGAINST COHEN AND KWAN. IF THEY WERE NOT UP TO PAR WHY THE HELL DO THE GET TO THE OLYMPICS ?

  • @anubethc45 Nah, she just hung on forever is all...the lol that is

  • Sasha has mind-blowing artistry, line, and position.

Kwan was good but pales overall to Sasha.

  • @HowsaBowsaYowsa Isn't it a shame that her mind-blowing artistry, line and position failed to make her a champion? Unfortunately, as beautiful a skater as she was, Sasha was one dimensional...she was not the total package. If she had Michelle's heart and mental toughness she could have been great!

  • Absolutely stunning and beautiful artistry. The stretch, the positions, the elegance... just pure perfection. IMO the greatest artist the sport has ever seen.

  • Excellent performance by Sasha standards but considering what arakawa did I doubt she would or even should have won even if she had not missed that last jump.

  • that last spin HOLY MOTHER OF GOD :O

  • Sasha has something more pretty in her skating than Michelle...

  • @29lovemusical Absolutely right on. Sadly, during the era of that other skater Sasha was simply one of many victims...never recognized or appreciated. Sasha is poetry in motion on ice and as for her supposed snippy attitude...I think that a whole lot of ugly can be hidden behind a whole lot of well paid pr people...but it exposes itself when it's carrier is caught off guard or forgets about 'image' and shows true colors.

  • @getrealandsee Never recongnized or appreciated? What a load of BS! Sasha just couldn't keep her butt off of the ice!

  • @getrealandsee AKA allenglandlawns, etc...Sasha a victim? Not recognized or apprecited??? Um, did you hear Dick Button call her out on her flutzing and choking in this very video? Sasha's fans give her a free pass on her poor jumping technique and total lack of mental toughness, but judges and experts (like Dick Button) tell the truth. If you flutz and fall in just about every competition you enter you do not deserve to be rewarded! She's an artist but she's not a champion, geez!

  • @getrealandsee Sasha was always recognized and/or appreciated. When she was on, she was rewarded, when she faltered, she was not. At both the US Nationals and the Word Championships, Sasha was given first place marks by the judges. In order to win, she would have to skate a clean long program. At both events, she "choked". Maybe that's the wrong word. Instead, let's say "She didn't deliver". Looking back, Sasha was an artist on ice, but she lacked was consistency.

  • @TeamKween2010 Well said and Thank You! I get so tired of reading about pro-Kwan judging conspiracies being the reason that Sasha did not win more titles. Absolutely ridiculous. Sasha was a gorgeous artist but among the most inconsistent skaters in history...she could never be depended on to skate cleanly when it really mattered, and such inconsistency should not be rewarded just because she has great posture and gorgeous lines.

  • @29lovemusical I disagree. Sasha was nowhere near as elegant as Michelle Kwan.

  • how can she not be dizzy?! and why can't you wear bra's while figure skating like this?

  • No one else past or current displays the dynamite that Sasha exhibits in this program. Stunning, energetic, lovely, and fantastic is she.

  • better if she wearing tanga

  • Cohen is amazing. She is my favorite skater and role-model. she deserves to win Gold!!

  • Sasha is the best ever... I've always been specting her to win Olympic gold medal.. I guess we all who love perfection spect that from her she is the best with or with out a medal..

  • The Greatest skater wins an Olympic Gold.

  • I'm not usually all about the outfits but this one is exceptional. Loveliest skater of them all in one of the loveliest outfits.

  • damn how many energy drinks did she take? cause she is very fast in both sp and lp. which i think its awesome.

  • I wonder what always made her lose her focus during the FS.

  • @jejules32 when youre in this kind of level of competition....pressure builds up logarithmically every second...

  • did she win?

  • yes she did

  • No she didn't. Shizuka Arakawa won.

  • sasha cohen THE BEST

  • @Puffikk1 And Dick Button is the best too!

  • I thought she was out of her mind to try for Vancouver and was not surprised when she pulled out of the Eric B trophy. Tendenitis huh?

  • @purpleblumoon Yes I guess the 10 hours of daily hard work was all for attention right? Um dear don't be a hater because she has accomplished more than you with her "attention seeking" ways. Trust me that there are many other ways to get attention without having to go through all those painful back injuries, and hours of hard work that she had to go through. You obviously have never met her so you have no right to judge on her personality.

  • @purpleblumoon Well, by posting your nasty comments, you've shown that you just want attention too.

  • Love her skating dress

  • OMG She is for skating what Maria Callas is for singing! She is in a class of its own. I really don't care if she misses whatever jump! Having said that, I still always wished she made no costly mistakes. Just because I think she deserved to win!

  • NO one deserves to win they have to earn it and sasha can never earn it when it really counted. she won nationals but even that was not a perfect program.

  • OMG

  • I get so teary eyed when she goes into that last spiral.. Breathtaking!!

  • The BEST skater to never win an olympic gold medal. Beautiful skater. Too much emphasis is put on jumps. She has all the other elements WAY over the other skaters.

  • wait, when did she get a gold medal? she got a silver at the torino olympics.

  • The BEST skater to never win an olympic gold medal is Michelle Kwan

  • Agreed!

  • Perhaps you misread my comment? I wrote Michelle Kwan is the best skater to "never win an Olympic medal", in response to another user saying Sasha Cohen is the best skater to never win the gold medal.

  • Irina Slutskaya deserved Gold at some stage too!

  • not the best one of the best

  • one of the best anyways

  • The best skater to never win an olympic gold medal is Sasha Cohen ^-^

  • @XxSkatingFan4LifexXD ITA and Sasha was the REAL bronze medalist in SLC. She has such courage and fire..grace..integrity. Even though she didn't qualify for the Olympics in 2010 she honestly tried and didn't pull a Michelle 'groin owie' Kwan. Sasha has been ripped off so many times as have other skaters due to the blatant favortism of MeMe it's all about Me Michelle Kwan. Sad:(

  • @kwansansog Sasha has pretty positions, but her edges are shallow and she doesn't stroke with Kwan's confidence.

  • @XxSkatingFan4LifexXD

Sasha is very graceful, but she is usually a little week in her long programs because she does not have the leg muscle to perfom continous jumps for a long time. She sacrificed power for grace, which is probably why she hasn't won the gold.

Michelle Kwan is graceful and a powerful skater. She was robbed. She totally should have won a gold medal.

  • @puddingmaster2 Sasha is also a big ol' head case.

  • Why don't we get the kiss and cry segemnt in?

It's strange that Sasha can't do a clean program. She has so much going for her but she can't ever pull it off.

  • SASHA why do you mess up on salchows... it breaks my heart... she is the best skating ever.... i just wish so much she could pull it together... i miss her... skating just isnt the same

  • isn't that a loop?

  • I like Tarasova's choreography sooooo much better than Robin Wagner's.

  • This is a beautiful program, however I liked the US Championships "Swan Lake" program better. No one can do the spirals like Sasha. She is a master at this. She never gave up on this program.

  • uh i love it

  • A lot of emotion in the violin part, and a lot of energy in the footwork. Beautiful performance!

  • good her program but this video is bad, qualit

  • i love that dress!!!

  • I like the fact that she didn't give up.

  • I agree. You can really see it on her face at the end of the program.
