  • Love that song. But this whole package was a bit too straight-forward for my taste. Each shot corresponds clearly to every line in the song... But I feel like words are already enough to tell me what the song tries to tell me, so instead of simply representing the words, I would use video footage to somehow enhance it in a creative way, by contrast, metaphor, etc. Just my thought.

  • good job

  • 0:50 into this video, the young man with a look of anguish.

    Where is that clipped from?

Faces like that are more troubling as the years go by....

Not as hard boiled and insensative as I was in my youth.

  • this is excellent!!! wonderful chosen clips and put together carefully and I'm sure you needed lots of time until you found them all. wonderful!!

  • Such powerful films along with this song... I think they were meant to go together. Good job!

  • The guy at the 0:45 mark looks like Randy from My Name Is Earl.

  • great vid and great choice of music

  • Great song and great version - thanks for posting

  • It really sucks! Respect the original work of Godfrey Reggio and the music of Philip Glass!!!

  • So werden Gesellschaften designed und darum ist ein MENSCHENLEBEN nichts wert ! NWO deathmachine! Eugenetik !

So will societies designed and that's why is a human life nothing worth ! NWO deathmachine! Eugenics !

  • bloody marvelous!

  • It might relate a lot to this images, but I'm so fucking sick of this song, even the original...see what happens to songs when people overplay them?

  • This only applies you because you listened to the song too much. Sure it was big back when Donnie Darko came out but I've probably havent even heard this song since the trailer for the orginal Gears of War.

  • Great track. thank you.

  • I think it is spelled Koyaanisquatsi... probably has been mentioned before. I do not mean to be rude...

  • OMGA! dude, nice video!!!!!!!!!

  • Very good work, I loved it. A great song along with great iamges/clips from Frickes films.

Watch Baraka, directed by Ron Fricke, This has to be the best and most transcendent, artistic piece ever in cinematic format.

  • excellent..thank you.

  • Man, this really made me feel sad...

  • great :D i love qatsi trilogy... i will buy anima mundi and baraka too if i find in store _-_

  • extaordinarily well done. thanks

  • click my name. wtch my version of changes by tupac...its mre in ur face, dis is way 2 suttle n slightly repetetive....seems all from the us to duno if thats wt u was goin for. nice try n e wyz. 4 stars

  • Hi, i've just watched your video and I think it's possibly the first time I've sat up and thought about what is going on in the world. For me, that video is much more powerful than many of the advertisements that charities are using. Do you do any work to help this situation? Volunteering etc?? If so, i'd like to know more about how I could help. Thanks

  • Well at first i decided i wnt 2 b a video journalist but den realised, ppl wtch sumthing powerful and sad, den they go back to their everyday lives. Its pointless, very few like youself ask questions about what they can do. For me i've decied to do sum volunteeering abroad (im in the uk startiin uni next week). The only solution i can see is to make enoughmoney and goto places liek africa and build wells, houses and provide ppl with basic health care. Its either that or becoming an iconic legend

  • ...

like martin luther king, malcom x. I cant see myself doin that and even tho becomin a doctor i could go abroad to help people, i think that more people are dying from jus simple things like lack of clean water and shelter. To answer your question, donate to charity monthly, or go abroad and help people out (get sponsered, join a charity that works abroad) or figure out your own game plan.

I want to save the whole world, its probly nt posible but dat doesnt mean u shudnt try.

  • Well, you may want to donate directly...if you reseach [really research!] these "charities"... I just try to make a difference...one soul at a time. Blessings.

  • I first saw this video over a year ago and I watch it over and over. There's just something about it....

  • Just to be clear, Fricke didn't do any of the Qasti trilogy. He did Baraka, Chronos and Samsara, which comes out in '08 or '09.

  • Fricke did the cinematography on Koyaanisqatsi was co writer and editor - The idea of the qatsi series much attributed to Frickes original photography and concept that started it off. Dont take my word for it takes Frickes - Fricke writes about his work: "I feel that my work has evolved through Koyaanisqatsi, Chronos and Baraka. Both technically and philosophically I am ready to delve even deeper into my favorite theme: humanity's relationship to the eternal".

  • You're right. It was just the second two that he wasn't involved with.

  • so thruthful, sadly. But great song.

  • Thanks for this great work!!!!

  • Beautiful! Amazing video!

  • omg u've done a great job! 5 stars!

  • Perfect, true, sad!

pictures found song, or song found pictures??

  • You didn't direct this material you edited it together. There's a big difference.

Very good though - 5 stars

  • I agree, it was edited by Karma and directed by Godfrey Reggio, but again as you stated excellent video, 5 stars

  • this is nice; well done.

  • This is nearly perfect, at least to me. Karma, you're amazing.

  • Karma, this is one of the best things I've seen on YouTube, hands-down. It just makes such perfect sense on every level. I'm stunned.

  • excellent video!! well done

  • I enjoyed your video which I felt emphasized important features of the song (as did the original video by TFF, tho the music was not as good.) Well done, hope to see more with as much or more depth.

  • i love this song. For some reason it makes me cry. Nice Vid by the way.

  • I Love the song.

    I love those three films.

I think you have also combined the footage very well, plus fitted it to the music.

But combined i think it's too dramatic, too sad. The song and those three film also arent't strictly pessimistic i believe.

  • Tears for fear did it better.

  • well done karma

  • Outstanding!!!

  • great song, crappy mundane video with clips randomly thrown together that simply had literal ties with the lyrics. This was awful, I had to stop watching as your boring video was ruining the depth of the song

  • well thankyou - i am glad you ceased your own suffering early on and did not let it go further :)

  • Thanks - mmlilith and Basskid - its a sad song but a great song :)

  • thats amazing it almost made me cry lol

  • very good!!!!!!!!

  • OMGOMGOMG I LOVE THOSE MOVIES!!!!! SO MUCH!!! XD hooray for fricke and reggio!!!

    good vid btw!!

  • Heh Heh thanks Edward - I recommend Baraka also by Fricke if you have not yet seen it

  • tOtallyt will check it out!!!! XD

  • DUDE! THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN! ( i'm not on my account, it's my sisters) BUT HELL! I LOVE IT! Keep up the great work!

  • Heh Heh Well im flattered - Really glad you enjoyed and thanks
