While predicated upon real and factual video footage, it appears to me to be more of an opinion segment than a report of record. It is therefore less informative and more persuasive, and not un-biased, inasmuch as there are hundreds and thousands of riders on CM rides, the vast majority of whom are not drinking or using MJ. They didn't, however, give an idea of the MAGNITUDE of B2B, which goes on endlessly for miles, shutting down half the whole city for half the day, with LOTS of VERY OPEN drinking. Drinking at CM is MUCH smaller in comparison; you won't find kegs, or people upside down, and the few who drink are generally hiding it.
But answer me this if CM was a car protest and everyone was drinking beer and smoking weed (BTW bike riders are suppose to follow the same rules as automobile drivers) would we be having this dicussion?

Of course it's true that alcohol directly causes more crashes on the roadways (for all users, including bicyclists). Drunk drivers have killed many innocent, nondrunk bicyclists. Actually, the actual day of the ride we showed riders who were not drinking beer, smoking weed, or pissing in public....however to be fair we also showed everything even the video you don't like. It was not an opinion piece, I simply showed you what I found...and if you listen to the video, one lady yelled out she was drinking an energy drink.
Bicyclists, like drivers & pedestrians use alcohol and drugs. But It's a minority in my experience. Most of the bike riders get an endorphin high from the conversation, group solidarity, and physical exercise and that's something that's hard to replicate sitting in a chair behind a steering wheel, no matter how nice your stereo, no matter how fast you drive. Most of the folks out there have a great time without the aid of any chemistry.

I have been biking for over 30 years, and I NEVER drink while biking. It is very dangerous to say the least.
I want to ask, did the police do any drug testing after this incident? I know in every state, if there is an injury accident, DRUG TESTING IS REQUIRED?
None of the injuries to people or bikes were treated by professionals, so no people or bikes would have been drug tested. Although you do point out an interesting explanation for why medical care was refused, despite the severity of the injuries alleged.

Yes this gives the bikers, and the bikes, a great defense for why they didn't report their injuries, because they are on drugs.
"Hey, we're on drugs! It's not out fault we didn't claim injuries!"
They'll play the blame game and blame the BPD for requiring drug testing for accidents causing injury.
