  • The "Moog" definitely sounds different. I like the low end thump on the MOTM but the Moog has a certain sound that is known and recognized. A bit softer maybe. I wish someone had done this comparison with an old original 904 filter... would be a better test, I think. But thanks for yours!!

  • The Moog makes me feel better.

  • I have my computer hooked up to a big amp. and mission speakers. Very little in it. Both great filters ( only because they are analogue Ha ! ).

  • I am not able to tell a difference on this youtube video. I think sound compression / processing due to the process youtube uses has filtered out all the subtle differences if there were any to start with. Thanks for posting though! :-)

  • Thanks for posting this, John. As in my Com/Mos-Lab filters comparison, it's very hard to pick up a difference... both are great classic- 24db Moog sounding filters! BTW, Paul Schreiber's MOTM-stuff is great and very wide-ranged in particular concerning the different, not only Moog filter options.

  • They sound similar, but the Moog is a touch bit warmer in my opinion.

  • I think the 490 is a great buy. I'd skip the 904.

The Moog sounds a bit smoother, for what that's worth.

  • I think the Moog has more sounds.
