  • im not trying to be rude but, Emma is from england and this movie is set in america. You know the typical american high school story? It just doesn't make sense to me that she plays Sam. I love Emma and her acting im just confused and I wonder how she is gonna pull it off.

  • As good as Emma may be, I just can't see her as Sam.

I wish I could, but I can't. I just really hope she does a good job, because she's a good actress... Maybe just not very... Sam. But I don't know.

  • Chbosky is directing it, so I'm sure it will be just perfect. So excited, absolutely cannot wait!

  • i have never been more excited for anything in my life.

  • In IMDB it says that the film has an R rating =o

  • too bad Emma dosen't fit the role of Sam at all

  • EZRA MILLER COULD SHOOT ME WITH AN ARROW ANY DAY

  • EZRA MILLER COULD SHOOT ME WITH AN ARROW ANY DAY

  • I don't expect to love the movie like I did the book. I would have to think of the movie as a seperate thing inspired by a story I love and hope that its decent by itsself. I am worried how the movie has been referred to as a "teen drama" film because that is nowhere close to the feeling I got from the book.

Knowing Logan as the kid from The Butterfly Effect and how well he acted back then I was hopeful but I haven't seen any of his work since becoming an adult.

    Also I despise MTV.

  • Well, the Author (Stephen Chbosky) wrote the screen play for Perks so I don't think you need to worry about if it stays true to the book.

  • @shamw0wable whether its the original writer or not it is still difficult to recreate between two very different formats.

  • Emma and Ezra together in a movie ? Totally awesome :D Just... perfect. Also, wow for 1:16 ;)

  • Just watch this movie for ezra.

  • Tricky thing about book adaptations is that people get very personally attached to books, it's all inside our heads, we create our own interpretation of scenes and characters, when a film is made from a book somebody chooses those interpretations for us, were seeing it instead of creating it, all from someone else's imagination and that's why the film must remain crucially similar. Although I think most directors want the story and that is all, view book and film as seperate ideas completely.

  • Dear goodness the way Ezra looks at Emma at 1:33 is so aaahhh~ I wish he could look at me like that... or maybe not, because the next thing that would happen is me lying paralized on the floor and foaming from the mouth. That man is gawgeous!!!

  • WHERE THE FUCKING FUCK IS THE TRAILER ?? I mean what are they waiting for?

  • wean dose the movie come out

  • they forgot to add "Ballet Shoes" on Emma's accomplishments, she did it on '07 but didn't had a huge box office release and was her first film outside the HP franchise

Anyway can't wait for the movie :) I hope it turns out to be as good as the book

  • The screenplay is written by the author so it should be good. He's also directing it.

  • they better not fuck the book up

  • If they are gonna make this movie so good why didnt they make Percy Jackson movie good?

  • Comment removed

  • @hail1112 its called "come on eileen" by the dexy's midnight runners(:

  • What is that song they are dancing to!?!?!?! UGH I LOVE IT

  • LOGAN LERMAN !<3

  • @jarsars016 That's what I'm asking!

  • EZRA MILLER.

  • Ive actually watched a movie that had it's script written by the author, and it was practically the same.. like, the first time I watched the movie, I could quote it practically word-for-word because I'd read the book so many times. And it was genuinly quite boring. So I hope they change it some, but I still want them to give Perks a rating of at LEAST a 15.

  • wait... might be a stupid question. so emma watson will have an american accent in the film?

  • Is Candace supposed to be Charlie's sister?

  • So they named Charlie's siblings?

  • @Lookoutsunshinex I said the same thing lol Candace is Charlie's sister

  • this is great but where the fuck is the damn trailer.

  • Emma watson is so lucky hahah....ive got no chance anyway :(

  • When is it coming out??

  • I have read the book and love it.

Logan Lerman is perfect for Charlie, Emma Watson will most likely do an amazing job of Sam, and after seeing some other movies he's in,Ezra Miller will be able to do what needs to be done to be able to pull off Patrick. I think it was incredibly well cast..and I'm excited!! :)

  • Why is the guy who plays Charlie the most likely to make you swoon?? What about Ezra? XD

  • Who the fuck is Candace

  • @LookOutSunshinex Charlie, the main character's sister.

  • Emma Watson's resume shits on the other actors. hahaha

  • @NDUBZ08 how other than HP her resume is shit lol If anything Ezra's resume is probably the best out of the three

  • ezraaaa <3

  • I cannot wait to see this film

  • i don't understand why they didn't interview chbosky about the movie

    the actors don't really matter...

  • I'm so happy they decided to make the book into a movie, this was one of the best books I've ever read and I felt like I could relate to Charlie in many ways... There are many disadvantages to being a shy person however there are it's perks aswell. I have a feeling that the movie will be just as great as the book and I honestly hope that they DID change it a bit, it would be very boring to watch the movie and have it be word for word from the book. I'm excited, I hope you are too... :)

  • LOGAN LERMAN -3 -3

  • @TessLoJo OMG I know right?!??

  • @lierluis1 well then ok. i care you fucking dick. so i can share whatever i feel. and oh for gods sake i know emma will make EVERYTHING work and i know she is absolutely amazing. im talking about sam you arrogant little fuck. oh my god smh

  • Oh and I'm pretty sure most of you people have seen Juno, right? well the same production company Mr Mudd will be producing "Perks"

  • Nina and Emma in one movie!!!!! PERFECT

  • @lierluis1 you have issues dude seriously. im not hating on emma at all. i agree she is perfect on so many levels lol heck i even want to be her. all im saying is that SAM HAS LONG HAIR AND SINCE EMMA IS PLAYING SAM, SHE SHOULD HAVE LONG HAIR BECAUSE OF HER CHARACTER not because she has ugly hair or s/t you dumb fuck.

  • @chazzzybear Sam is also supposed to have green eyes, yet Emma has brown, but I doubt they made her wear contacts. It annoys me that they cast her even though she isn't physically Sam, just because I've always felt as if Sam would look a little like me, considering I have long brown hair and green eyes haha.

  • @anditspaganpoetry Appearances don't matter. For all I care, they could have cast a 6 foot 9 inch, black, WNBA player -- just so long as it felt like that. Clearly you aren't paying enough attention to the book. In the last chapter, Sam states that Charlie only really loves what he thinks about Sam, not what he knows. He saw her differently than she really was. Emma Watson is fucking stunning like Sam. If she can feel like Sam, you should be happy. Not only that, Stephen

  • @anditspaganpoetry specifically asked for Emma to play Sam. When they were casting, he had a folder of girls he wanted Sam to look like. They were almost all Emma Watson. Not only that, she doesn't need contacts or hair extensions or anything else. So much about the book is about natural beauty. Why try to change that?

  • @anditspaganpoetry Woops. I meant to say "--felt like Sam."

  • @anditspaganpoetry THANK YOU. and oh god you must be so djfkabjdf irl.... i mean omg

  • 7. This isn't Twilight. This isn't Harry Potter. You guys aren't going to be seeing posters for this movie everywhere. They don't have a big enough budget to market like that. It's an indie film; not some huge franchise with a $100,000,000 budget. It's budget is probably around $6,000,000.

    Thank you.

    *steps down, shaking.*

  • @dilutedpants Well said, well said. On all points.

  • 6. Shut the fuck up about people seeing the movie only because of Emma or only because of Logan. I imagine that since you guys feel so strongly about this, that you guys all found something special in Perks. Isn't it best for the movie to hit as many people as possible? Isn't it best for that kid who might be close to killing himself to find a character that he can relate to in every sense? I certainly think that's more important than the movie becoming "mainstream."

  • What matters is that we can still relate to Charlie and we can still feel infinite with Charlie when Sam is in the back of the car.

    5. I have talked to production assistants, people who saw a pre-screening earlier in the month, extras -- even one actor who was... Kind of a main character. I know what's in the movie, I know how it felt. I know that you guys are all going walk out of the movie theater feeling everything that you did when you read the book.

  • 3. The book doesn't have to be rated R for it to be good. PG-13 movies can show everything that they need to for the movie to be perfect.

    4. The movie can cut stuff out. It doesn't have to follow the same exact storyline. In fact, I bet that a lot of you guys don't know it, but you would really think it quite boring if the movie was word-for-word the book. What matters is that you feel like you did when you read the book.

  • Don't forget about one of the last letters where Charlie talked about how Sam was saying that Charlie only really likes Sam for what he thinks about her, and not what he knows about her. Charlie saw Sam as the most beautiful girl in the world. I don't think that there are many other people out there that are more stunning than Emma.

  • 2. Stop fucking complaining about Emma playing Sam. Stephen asked for Emma to play Sam because that's who he thought would be perfect. Remember that the book was told from Charlie's point of view, and that's kind of how the movie is going to be. He isn't the most reliable storyteller, and that's part of what makes the book so beautiful and so well written. Charlie probably saw Sam much different than she really was.

  • *steps on the soapbox*

Yo everyone. Shut the fuck up please. I got some stuff to say.

    1. Stephen Chbosky (the author) wrote the script and is also directing. He took over five years to make sure that he could get it done, and get it done his way. It's his baby. He isn't going to do anything that he isn't proud of.

  • I have the feeling that the book is going to be ruined.

  • Stop complaining that everyone will go see it just because Emma is in it, that means there's a really good chance that they'll read the book after and even if they don't this story will always make an impact on people no matter what platform it's told through. Who cares if it gets bigger or becomes 'mainstream' surely that's a good thing?

  • This movie better be rated R and not PG 13 or else I will be mad! I only say it because I want the movie to stay true to the book. If ya know what i'm sayin'...

  • @watermelonsheloves The director is hoping for a PG 13 rating and I'm fine with that, a lot of things could still work. The activities being done becomes too trivial when compared the the people doing them and the feelings they experience which is still maintained in the film according to people who have seen it. I heard the test screening was amazing...."extremely amazing," as one tweet would have it.

  • @watermelonsheloves I saw the movie about a month ago at a preview screening, and I can say that it will be rated PG-13. It was amazing, and you will love it no matter if you have read it before or if you're just being introduced to it. Oh, and you'll cry from start to finish.

  • The book is incredible I hope the movie does it justice

  • god i am pissed that they dont put a wig on emma's head??

or at least extensions?? i just want my perfect sam :(

  • @chazzzybear lol i know right! She's supposed to have long hair :(

  • Nina is playing Charlie's sister right?

  • idk, i feel like they're making this movie really 'hollywood' with the bigger named actors and such. would of been nice to see more fresh faces and new young talent.

  • @avalita139607 I kind of agree with you. I never pictured Patrick to look like Miller, but Miller was caught with drugs during the set or something so I guess he does fit :P I like Logan too and Emma is cool, but idk.....I hope this movie doesn't ruin the book and shit :/ Hmmm...

  • @avalita139607 I know right! That's why I'm so glad Ezra Miller is in it! He's definetely gorgeous, but if you listen to his inteviews, he's the most intelligent man in Hollywood

  • Logan's voice alone is making me swoon...

  • i wanna read the book now!

  • When's it coming out?

  • hey guys.. when's it coming?

  • What song is this?

  • Logan tapped into some awkward childhood memories?

    HE'S BEEN ABUSED? XD

  • I can't wait for the movie.

  • Emma watson & Logan Lerman? My 2 favourite actor/actresses ? You have got to be kidding mee ! -33

  • @TheTurtlelove97 of course she would have, it's a pinnacle moment in the book

  • 2:41

    JOHNNY SIMMONS!

  • BEST CAST EVER!!! i love a of them. Definitely watching it, when is it released?

  • Nina Dobrev yay

  • NOOOO EZRA MILLER WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THIS FILM ? ;_;

  • @vxvxszs Yeah, he seems out of place.

  • EXTREMELY EXCITED for Ezra Miller... Although he'll be playing a gay character; and so did he in a couple more of the movies he played in... I'm NOT homophobic, but i just hope he's not gay in real life because I've had it having celebrity crushes for Zachary Quinto and Chris Colfer... It's depressing...

  • Logan Lerman is so handsome<3

  • i'm so excited, RELEASE THE GOD FORSAKEN TRAILER ALREADY.

  • INDIE

  • Does anyone know when the movie comes out?

  • I hope you guys do keep in mind that Stephen Chbosky, the author of the book, actually wrote the screenplay, too. So whatever he wanted the film to look like, it'll be that way. I don't think we'll be able to say it's ruined if the same person wrote both the book and the screenplay. I believe he also somewhat directed, as well, or was at least on set. If he didn't like it, I'm sure stephen would've said something about a particular person not being right for the role before casting. He knows wh

  • "Logan Lerman - Most likely to make you swoon"

    He certainly does ;D

  • omg N ina as Logan's relative and bonding. Can't wait. Except Emma's in it...mehhhhhhhhh

  • WAIT. Did Nina just say this was an Indie?! NO! Please oh please let it be in cinemas! This is my favorite book in the entire world. I don't even know where Indies are played.

  • "most likely to make you swoon" so truee ~sigh~ logan lerman -3

  • soo.. i'm currently listening to Perks of Being a Wallflower and I am soo close to being finished, and I do NOT remember hearing about a character named Candace. Someone help me out please?

  • @snuffles312 I think they just changed some of the characters... I'm still confused about it too

  • @snuffles312 In the books he doesn't name his brother or sister so

  • @iFruit96 WHOA you're right!! lol omg I never realized that before. Thanks! I guess I gave them names in my head hahaha

  • This will be oscar winning

  • Actually the book/film was brought to my attention by Ezra miller not Emma Watson. She was just an added bonus. How dare anyone on this page say she can't act. Kristen Stewart (Now that's someone who killed a great character from a book) cant act but emma watson most definetely can. But I do hope for anyone who's a fan that she does play the part well. Not a great thing being let down by a film adaption.

  • @xNatalie24x LMAO Kristen Stewart is a great actress, if you've seen other roles other than Twilight.

Kristen didn't kill Bella Swan, because Bella is basically the worst character written in history. Not even the best actors can bring Bella Insert-Sue to life.

  • @xNatalie24x If you're talking about Bella Swan, then I think you're very wrong. Bella was an extremely dull, boring, and overall horrible character. She had no depth of character development, nor did she have any strength or independence. I actually think Kristen's a good actress, it's just her character is so horrible anyone in her role would be just as bad.

  • emma watson is a teriible actor.. with her eye brow lifting , its soooo annoying! its sad that one of my favorite books finally gets a ,movie, and shes sam...

  • @girlicawesommeashley you're dumb.

  • @xxxwhateverrr ur a fucking retard. she has no emotion when she acts. the book was about drugs, sex, and all that.. and who are u to judge..

  • @girlicawesommeashley Its funny that you say who am I to judge, when you're doing a good amount of it. You're still dumb.

  • @xxxwhateverrr Fuck off. who are u to judge me. dumb? i bet ur just some 12 year old with a computer. FUCK OFF.

  • @girlicawesommeashley You just said the same thing twice. lol I think you might be the 12 year old. But hey you got something right. I do have a computer! You're still very dumb.

  • @xxxwhateverrr stalker much? ur insulting me by saying im 12 ? wow... ur guess was off. . im actually 15.. and getting tired of this conversation ...

  • omgg when is this movie coming out?!!? hope it doesnt ruin it =\

  • ezra miller is my ridiculously perfect

  • Emma said teenager the American way..she is really getting into the accent!!!love it..

  • @billiejeanqueen11 i heard it, too :)

  • i cant wait for this movie..

  • SCEPULA ADELE

  • I just think think alot of people are only going to read the book and watch the movie only because Emma Watson is in it.....

  • It doesn't really look like it takes place in the 90's (like the book)...

  • @LanaBanana130 The 90's really didn't look all that different... The truck they used for the infinite scene and using "Come on, Eileen" definitely makes me think it will be set in the 90's. Even if it isn't, you can blame the author. He was the one who wrote the screenplay.

  • @dilutedpants But he didn't do wardrobe or props or make up or hair. Also, I know what the 90's were like lol.

  • @LanaBanana130 All you saw, really, was dress clothes. Dress clothes really haven't advanced that much...

  • To me, this looks like it's going to be a cheesy movie...

  • Is Emma doing an american accent for the film?

  • @emmadilemmasings well it is set in America, so obviously...

  • "Logan lerman; most likely to make you swoon." Yes, Yes, Agree :)

  • 1:24 sounds really american

  • does not ezra KINDA looks like chuck bass/ed westwick? xD lol

  • love emma, but please please please can she have long hair!

  • i love ezra miller.

  • Oh my god she is so gorgeous.

  • so excited for Ezra! and Emma! and Logan!

    just THIS MOVIE.

    I will cry.

  • Logan xD <3

  • I love it when Ezra talks. also, he and Emma's working it good on the dance floor! lol

  • Wasn't it patricks character gay? I'm sorry its been a very long time since i've read the book

  • @Eiznekcam4 Yes he is.

  • is it just me or did nina's voice get really dark here? it just sounds darker than usual :/

  • ezraaaaa <3

  • 1:16 @@

  • Am I the only one who feels like Logan is still in character?

  • Emma toujours aussi joli et populaire cette fille me fait vraiment craqué

  • omg what's the song at 0:33 ? it's driving me crazy trying to figure it out!

  • @maddiieeelevvv Come on Eileen.

  • ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh...EMMA!!!

  • Those dance moves look epic :) I wouldn't mind seeing the film, just to watch that particular scene. Never heard of the book before. So I don't know what the story is about. But I may check it out when it hits the theatres.

  • EMMA :3

  • I CANNOT WAITFJDSALK

  • Nina Dobrev reminds me of Vanessa Hudgens :) <3

  • When I read the book, I was really excited when I found out Emma will play Sam. But I noticed that a lot of people complained about Jennifer Lawrence having blonde hair instead of being brunette as Katniss yet none complained about Emma having short hair instead of Sam's long hair. And Sam has green eyes too.

  • @SeekerFlight42 I guess that's because even though Emma does not fit the description of Sam in the book, her current look still does emit some kind of "Sam-ish" aura and Jennifer, meanwhile, fails to do so with Katniss.

  • @Mockingjay143 Haha, I agree. I love you now. And you're from the Philippines too! Let's celebrate! XD

  • soy de las fans que piensa de que todo lo que haga Emma Watson será INCREÍBLE!!!

  • what song are dancing emma??

  • @dililagranger It's called "Come on Eileen"

  • Omg, i love her dancing...!

i can't wait for the movie, the book is awesome!

and i personally believe that she can win an oscar, but not now. Maybe in the future...:)

  • cant wait for this movie!! the book is one of my favorites!! I hope the movie does it justice!!!!

  • I'm one of Emma's Biggest Fans, and I love Nina Dobrev too. They're both Sweet, humble, grounded and very like-able! good girls as well, and both of them in the same movie! i want the movie to come out soon!

  • I ship Ezra and Emma.

  • I'm just really worried about Emma's American accent. I hope she nails it! And I both they nail the whole movie! The book is amazing so I hope they give it justice :)
