187 on the motherfucker who dislikes this!

  • OMFG 182 likes and 0 DISLIKES? I am amazed. It shows how awesome bjork is.

  • This album stayed in my cd player NONSTOP for 2 years at least.. ****great stuff ***

  • Wow what a beautiful voice!

  • jest niesamowita!

  • I have her album debut I like areoplane

  • Apparently the chorus inspired the chorus for QOTSA's 'Better living through chemistry'

  • @TAcobjobCO Also, in You Can't Quit Me Baby, they use Radiohead's "I want you to notice when I'm not around."

  • Cryfus

  • the music on streets of rage 2 was du jour, baby- it was Du Jour

  • My favourite song from the album (along with There's More To Life Than This + Human Behaviour + Violently Happy...ugh I think I loooove it al really :)

  • she hasn't shouted "CHAIR" since vespertine

  • i love her voice 2:33 - 3:06

  • Homogenic remains her best album and this is also my personal favourite, then comes Vespertine, hated Volta, disliked Medúlla. I have a love hate releationship with Post. It has some of Björk´s best work also some of her worst.

  • @Starkardur Homogenic is perhaps her catchiest and simplest work so far. I liked it (the singles especially), but my favourite ones are Debut, Post and Vespertine. I liked Medúlla too, while Volta was so-so... liked some pieces (such as Wanderlust), was not much thrilled by some other. Her upcoming album (Biophilia) seems better.

  • @Starkardur Homogenic in my opinion remains her best in my opinon. My top 3 are Homogenic, Debut, Vespertine. Post is so and so. I did not like Medulla or Volta and Biophilia doesn´t look good.

  • I was a casual bjork fan for years but I couldnt bing myself to listen to the albums.

Now Im doing it and I deeply regret havent doing it before.

  • BETTERLIVINGTROUGHCHEMESTRY!!!!!!!

  • The last minute of this song is pure bliss. The acapella part towards the finish gives me goosebumps.

  • this reminds me of an old video game I used to play, can't remember the name tho.... It had fight while going down the street... and then the bosses were in like nightclubs and stuff... lol, name that game for me please... if you have a guess.

  • @quenquen411 Streets of Rage :)

  • @allmusicdotcom YEP !!! I found it the other day, and was ecstatic lol

  • @allmusicdotcom I totally remember that game! Lol. & I'm only 18. My brother & I played it all the time on Sega. I was always Blaze haha. Don't know why, but he was always Axel and I wanted to be him. Brings back great memories. <3

  • @11Evanescence13 was the game streets of rage

  • @heronbird81 yes it was! :-)

  • @quenquen411 LOL those were the days :).

  • @quenquen411 Ha ha ...

  • @quenquen411 Is it "Sneak and Attack" from Front Mission -Gun Hazard- by any chance? The piano in it is totally alike. watch?v=pAy4zeYGsQ0

  • @KayinOne that sounded VERY similar, but not as sharp and clear as this. I knew I wasn't just imagining stuff, lol.

  • Ah, the 90's...

  • only if a ship would sail in/ or just somebody came/ and knocked on my door/ or- or just something!

  • debut, post and telegram are my favorites:)

  • @iceybleu Post is probably the best of the three, then I would have this album and telegram. Not a big fan of Volta, or Vespetine.

  • @FunkMastaMegaFlex I CONCUR!!!

  • @FunkMastaMegaFlex What about Homogenic?! That album is her most emotionally and sonically intense to date! I prefer Homogenic, but maybe it's a little too serious for some. It's definitely a stylistic departure from the poppy collages of Debut and Post.

  • @ExtravertmE Debut remains her most accessible and poppy album yet it is also her most eclectic.

  • @Starkardur I don't know... I think Post trumps Debut as most eclectic.

  • @ExtravertmE Homogenic seems the catchiest and simplest one to me. I did like it, but I prefer the previous two albums, I find them more particular. And Vespertine, which is the most intimate.

  • @ThoughtfulShiryu "Particular"? What do you mean?

  • @ExtravertmE they're not obvious, they have different and less expected flavours, and I find them unique in their variety and sound.

I liked Homogenic very much, totally loved some specific songs, but it drew my interest less than the other two, it kinda sounded more predictable... although I know that this was Björk's intention, to make a one-flavoured, simpler and "homogeneous" album.

  • @ThoughtfulShiryu I see what you're saying. You appreciated the eclecticism of Debut and Post, as Homogenic was her first self-contained album. I can understand that. For me, Homogenic ranks higher, in part, for that reason. I feel like we get to capture Bjork at home, in her own zone, with Homogenic.

  • Her voice is always expressive, but when she hollers in utter frustration "I DARE YOU!" on "Five Years" and when she rhythmically screams her throat out on "Pluto" as if on the verge of death, you're warped smack dab into the middle of Bjork's heart. Even her most composedly ethereal moments are accounted for: the calm, regal indignation "Hunter" evokes has never been captured more thoughtfully. And who can forget the intimate "Joga", the most poetic declaration of friendship ever sung.

  • & the musical elements work seamlessly w/ lyric to create an emotional soundscape. The entire album is like an island, and each song is its own ecosystem. Joga is mountainous, volcanic, an area young and growing, a visual conveyed by both the severe electrobeats and the dynamic vocal delivery. Unravel is by the night sea, moon bright, pensive and emotional. Bachelorette is the city, bustling, almost too busy, yet beautiful in the singular voice that captures our attention against so much noise.

  • @ThoughtfulShiryu In other words, Homogenic may be one flavor, but I've never tasted one so delicious.

  • @ExtravertmE I understand (except I feel Pluto as sth related to life, rather than death), basically the same reasons why I myself enjoyed the whole album very much. I literally loved Hunter, Joga, Unravel, Bachelorette and so on. Homogenic seems to me as if Björk extrapolated single sounds that can be partly heard on Debut & Post, she stopped and developed them into an album. I think she could develop an album out of every single sound Debut and Post explored. We know who we're talking about.

  • one of my faves in Debut, another one would be Play Dead. :)

  • thanks for this vid, one of my fav tracks from Bjork

  • Right know about an hour ago I started to listen to Björk's music.. and I must say it is very pleasing..

  • @Filmsaremylife92 And 2 months later, do you still like her music ? :)
