Sunny is a happy well trained birdy! I taught my brothers bird, fluffy, to say "hi" and wave with his claw at the same time. These birds, along with parrots and corvids never cease to amaze me. They are self aware and can solve problems that other animals cannot.
I have a female Lutino cockatiel and she is a year old. I was wondering if it will be too late to still train her to whistle better. She whisltes, but not that much anymore and also she doesn't play with her toys anymore either! :(....can you please give me some advice on how I can get my babygirl to be active again from when we first brought her home a year ago? Thank you and I love your videos of Sunny. I use to have a grey cockatiel just like yours but his name was Simon.
How often is your bird so full of energy? When i see videos from cockatiels on youtube they all see really energized compared to my own he's most likely never so full of energy like your wonderfull bird is right here... it makes me kinda nervous that there's something wrong with him...
@Superkyllingibsen We now have three cockatiels and I think it can depend on the bird and it's personality. Sunny is the most energetic of the three and is always going going going. He even is still dancing a lot from when he wakes up until he goes to bed. The other birds like to chill and hang out more. As long as your bird is well fed, checked regularly by a vet, and kept in a fun, stimulating, and healthy environment, I am sure he is fine. Does he seem happy and content? Have a great day!
and lighting is very important also, if you don't have bright, well lit places for your bird look into buying an aviary light, birds can get depressed if they don't have proper light sources...FYI, I have owned cockatiels that don't talk or sing or move much and they were perfect, each one is different....have a great day! my barney does the same dance and i'll call him dancin bird or my sweet dancin boy, he loves to show off his dance. when he gets really ino it he cocks his head far in the direction he is heading. so cute! he'll spontaneously burst into song, sometimes late at night lol.
lol i turned this on and my birds started going nuts and i turn around and the female is latched onto the wall of her cage looking out to find the bird haha
I was in the process of cleaning out Sunny's cage when he was whistling. He does have toys, they were just out of the cage at that moment. That's why it looks a little bare.
lol my tiel only responds to the other bird in your video

Wow, he sings almost like a pretty canary. Sometimes it sounds like a wolf whistle and sometimes it sounds like Kill Bill. LOL.
