The efficiency comes from heating the air space under the floor, not the floor itself. The heat is more even and creates fewer problems with the floor coverings. Drilling the joists allows for "Home runs" back to the boiler.

i belive if the tubing were in contact with the subfloor covection would be faster and cheaper

Why r u wasting time AND effort drilling thru the joists (perpendicular to the run)?? ...&, why is it suspended (not up against the underfloor/basement over-head)?? Doesn't that radiate the heat to the ambient air, more than the floor??

Many people have innovative ideas about how to heat a home and have been successful in achieving a better system than older less efficient systems. We encourage others to provide a quality home heating alternative as we have tired to do.

Why couldn't the same thing be done with baseboard finned convectors. If you knew

the BTU load needed it would be easy to hang it in the joist space. I doubt this system however is better than stapling the tubing to the floor. That doesn't involve any convection transfer.

I don't believe we said anything like that. The fact is, most people would like to see more ladies on TV and in this industry, as noted by the increase of female hosts on HGTV and other related home renovation programs.
