I hate lack of mines, I think they make this build work. Hydras would have not gotten to flash's base that easily and allowed him to focus on air defense more (just a couple more turrets). By the time ground army is pushing on base tanks would have been out.
There are some things that Upmagic did that I think helped. Upmagic had a fast expand in his build, and he invested in fast Spider Mines, which absolutely annihilated Great's Hydras.
From what I've seen of Flash's Mech builds vs. Zerg, he doesn't get the necessary economy and allows the Zerg to expand too much to properly execute it. I just don't see why Flash doesn't go with standard Medic and Marine since he has generally been good with that build.
I just don't think this build will last much longer. There's no real reason to choose mech over medic/marine unless, in Fantasy's case, the mech control is more comfortable for the player. If mech is scouted early, it's ridiculously easy to counter. The build depends on the Zerg being in the dark. There have been some EPIC fails using mech against Zerg recently, even from Oov and Fantasy.
Hmm, well played by the winner. I guess it's [spoiler] FBH that he really has in mind now, though. Before those two losses JD did beat FBH quite soundly a few times.
Flash lost this one when he lost his whole army (vultures) without accomplishing anything with them. Jaedong could then use the combo muts/hydras to cripple him.
yeah well if you are think the pirce of three vultures vs one drone, 50minerals for the drone to 225minerals with the valtures it would ineffective trade, but drones mine in one minute a drone gives you close to 100minerals and the zerg will have to make anther drone anther costing a lava that could of be used on attacking units, and one terran mining base is = to 2 zerg minning bases so hurting the zerg ecomic is usually very cost effective, im not sure that exact forumal to prove its effective
but i have been told (by stronger players) that gernally trading a couple valutres for even one drone is good, and I just worked out the reasoning by myself e.g. distracting the other players, reducing his production etc

I don't see how Flash ever had a chance in this one, Jaedong had way too much econ.
