Sony has talked about the white special editions and a 160 gig special edition but no slim ps3. they have not talked about canceling the 80 gigs for the sheer purpose that most of their stock is in that. they have however talked about upgrading all new productions to dualshock 3 controllers. As of now it would be impossible to build a ps3 into a smaller package. The largest part of the ps3 is the cooling system however if you downsized it we would have the 360 problem, overheating.
