  • best movie ever

  • dracula by kilar

  • Wojciech Kilar jest THE best . Polish composers are THE BEST !!!

  • Panie Kilar oddaje poklon mistrzowi, nie jestem krytykiem muzycznym, ani jakim kolwiek ale pana muzyka trafia do mnie, wiem ze nie tylko do mnie, koncze, wschujac sie :)

  • we need 3 dozen people like Dracula to defend the civilized world from muslim fundamentalist pieces of shit.

  • THIS FILM IS OUTSTANDING!!! AND GARY OLDMAN AS DRACULA IS SIMPLY ONE OF THE GREATEST PERFORMANCES IN THE HISTORY. SORRY, GUYS, FRANKLY, I HAVEN´T WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE GARY OLDMAN'S WORK IN THIS MOVIE!!! A GENIUS. THANKS, GARY!!!

  • How is it that this copy is so very clear, or is it just snap shots from the movie?

  • @roamingsoul80 It is screen captures from the DVD.

  • this soundtrack is avaliable on columbia records

ES LA MEJOR W. KILAR ES UN GENIO HE'S THE MAN!

  • i wish i would be as mina and drink garys blood on his chest

  • What time period is this Dracula movie set?? It seems like 1850s to 1870s I think am I right?

  • @razza858 The novel was written in the 1890s, so I think it is set then.

  • @browninky oh thanks for your help!!!

  • @browninky No. The "book" was written using some historical facts, embelished of course. There WAS The Order of the Dragon. Vlad's father was ordained in 1431 to fight against the Turks. Dragon translates to Drac + ul, ergo Dracul. Dracul+A just means "son of." Given Dragon also means Devil, it created a brilliant formula. Vlad III (our familiar Dracula) is from the 1400's and historically was brutal. I think 1450-1460 were the most violent times (of the real Vlad III).

  • @Merrida100 And the real Elizabeth really did jump in the river,

  • @sonnyboy1069 Yes and no. If you're citing the events as portrayed in this film adaptation, then they're not even close to what happened with his wife. And, I'm assuming you know there was no "real Elizabeth" and are just being snarky. ;-)

  • @Merrida100 I saw in a documentary, Where a women related to Dracula (his 27th generation) grand daugther, Said how his wife killed herself and that the river she threw herself into. Ss to this day known as the (river princess) thats how i know. this did happen to his wife

  • @sonnyboy1069 A documentary, or Wiki? If the latter, that diluted version states that it was his 2nd wife, an arrow shot through a window (not intended for her eyes, not intended for her to feel defeated or that she lost her husband),- it was a warning of the army approaching. 2nd wife named Jusztina (not Elizabeth, or Elisabetta), and it was not because she was lost w/o her husband, it was because she refused to fall to the Ottoman empire, thus thrust herself into the Arges River.

  • @Merrida100 it was a documentary not wiki, you can look it up on youtube. its 37 minutes long im not sure what its called, but it is on here i dont know if what she said was true or not, but because shes a relative ect, and if any ones going to know the history then she would.

  • @sonnyboy1069 I don't think I've seen that documentary, but I admit to being a docu-junkie. All sorts of subjects really, too! But I do admit to having a life-long fascination with that which has been associated with vampires (in any form, any incarnation), since I was 4 years old. (Strange kid, eh?) One of the sources to which I refer came from Radu Florescu. He gave a lecture in 1989 when he was one of the consultants hired for Coppola's movie. Many conversations followed due to my intrigue

  • @Merrida100 no theres nothing strange about that lol. yeah im a docu-junkie too i like all sorts of stuff on(big foot, free masons, old legends) that sort of thing. well florescu must of done a very good job with coppola. because coppola's dracula is by far of my fovorite vampire movies. he did a great job and the fim never gets old

  • @sonnyboy1069 Oh absolutely, YES!! Even with all the goodies, costumes, fxs,...if it were anyone but Gary Oldman in the lead, I would never have felt this relentless draw to watch it over and over (as I do with lots of GO's movies, but I have a "thang" for vampires, Oldman was icing on the cake!) He's bewitching. I appreciate the Nosferatu films too, but I'm with you. THIS movie fired every nerve in my body, transfixed, heart racing. It hit nerves I can't talk about! Docudramas, I'm SO with you!!

  • @Merrida100 Gary is a great actor Ive never seen him in a bad film yet.And Hopkins was great in this to.Hay have you seen the people on youtube. Who say that there real vampires?.Theres this one man who claims to be the (vampire king) He has had fangs put in where his original teeth were. And he drinks blood (by donation). And he said that he does not have sex (thats weird).Well theres a whole community of them. Now i like vampire films books ect.But i dont want to be one lol what do you think?

  • @sonnyboy1069 Lost in Space was pretty bad, but otherwise, fantastic.

  • @razza858 1897

  • @razza858 u got it!!;)

  • @razza858 I think the story begins in about 1453, with the fall of Constantinople ( a `Christian` city ) - which became Istanbul ( a `Muslim` city ). But the majority of the film is I think, as you say, set in the mid 19th c.

  • I am absolutley a big fan of the soundtrack.

It's the greatest soundtrack ever made.

  • dis movies fun on weed =)

  • One of the greatest vampire movies ever made...period.

  • This is the true music of a vampire twilight can suck my true vampire loving balls and shine in a daylight diamond cheese fest true vampires dont glow like pussies in sunlight they burn may the romantic diamond cheese festations burn in hell fuck you twilight fuck you and your festering glowing diamond skulls

  • this film would have been sooooo good without keano reeves shitty english accent, and im sorry but winona is pretty terrible too. Love the cinematography, and story, just cant get over their performances...

  • oooooohhhhhhh , just had an awesome idea , this soundtrack synced to the 1930's Dracula film

  • Typical love story...One of the BEST of all time!..Both within the book and film..And what does poor Drac get?..FUCKED!...Typical woman!!...Thumbs up if you agree!!!??

  • I like to discuss pointless battles. I c Dracula is one of the most powerful horror villians. The other being Pinhead from hellraiser. If the two of them crossed lines in battle who would win?? I'm not even sure if there would even be an outcome.

  • whatever happened to Dracula's brother? read "Last Rites: The Return of Sebastian Vasilis" to find out!

  • 0:12. this man is vlad tepes (dracula)

  • just one word BEAUTIFUL:)

  • 0.13 the real Count Dracula, he was worst that the dracula character itself

  • @100irissa In fact he was a king not a count when he was alive. He did alot of crazy shit back then.

  • The real dracula was killed by the king Al Sani, the most power full muslim king in history.straight away he choped of his head.today his sprit is whooming around in some were in albania.but still his sprit is scared.

  • Yeah this video is boring and pointless.

  • @cadge31 balls

  • what a boring video

  • @bottleracket once again balls

  • may count-Dracula the most merciless one rise from his grave and impale you all demicresent scums mujahedin pieces of pig-shit of alluh the pig the most mercifull pig ever one Ah ha ha ha ha HE HHE HEE EEEH EHE EH EH EH!@#$%^curses&*()_+!!!!

  • this is a true horror movie gentelmen

  • i love this film too much

  • this movie is all about real vampires, that the reason because this is badass, not like that sparkling faggot.

  • @netbox01 i agree..real vampires do not sparkle

  • Keanu Reeves ruined this movie... Anyone but him... Ugh..

  • Incredible stills!!!!!

  • I recently wached Dracula and I must say this is one of best films!

  • when i see this kind of thig the only thing that come to my mind is how the fuck there's people that think twilight is better and good!!!!

lord dracula forget their rot souls XDXDXD

  • @loboimperial85 Did you really have to mention twilight....-_-

  • @MrMaryJanes yeah you're right, my mistake

  • Vlad Tepes(or Dracula as you foreigners like to call) was a true heroe to the romanians, he was a voievode wich standed for justice and hated thieves and betrayers, that's why he impaled so many, just to maintain order, he also impaled the otomans(fuckink turks, they had it coming!).But for your information he didn't reigned in Transilvania, that's Bram Stoker's bull shit.By the way my real name is VLAD, hope you like it!

  • Twilight ........ MY A.., I´m agree with you pablo, that´s bull shit, i´ve seen this movie 20 plus times, one of the best evr made, claro que si!

  • Hello, ktos kto dobral obraz z muzyka, w tym clipie ma niezla wyobraznie. Kilar swietny jak zwykle.

  • Thank you for the AWESOME upload, browninky! Great video editing compilation, i love it! ^__^

  • Bram Stoker vs Stephanie Myers - Thumbs up if you think that Bram Stokers vampires would utterly obliterate the Twilight vamps

  • Dude, Twilight is a completely SHIT!!!!

    Totally crap

  • If memory serves me well - The reason why Dracul means both dragon and devil in rumenian, is that dragons was originally considered a sort of devil, so no distinction was made.

Vlad Tepes real name was Vladislav III Draculae, meaning : Vlad Son of the Dragon. And ofcourse, his fatherw as Vlad II Dracul, meaning : Vlad the Dragon, a name he got from being the the Order of the Dragon, which again was named after Saint George who was a dragonslayer.

    Thus, the Dragon symbolized strength.

  • the OST to this is amazing,

  • Wojciech Kilar brilliant as always.... i recommend also his other movie scores, especially "Ziemia Obiecana" (Promised Land) and "Pan Tadeusz" (Sir Taddeus).

  • @MaximusProteus i really don't want to be a smart ass now, I just want to say that in Romanian "dragon" means "dragon", it's exactly like in English . Dracul =devil. I know because I speak Romanian pretty well. About his bad fame, it started when he took away the privileges of the german tradesman who lived in Transylvania. And as a revenge they started to tell stories about him how bloodthirsty he was, of course they exaggerated a bit, but impaling turks it's a true story.

  • @hammurappi23 - well, i don`t speak Romanian at all, so it seems i was just mistaken. So can you tell me why this nickname for Vlad`s father "Devil"? That`s actually the first time i hear the story of German tradesman, i was sure Transilvania was a Duchy of the Kingdom of Hungary back than, did "Dracula" conquared it?

The idea of implaing was actually brought by the Turks/Tatars to the Europe, if i`m not mistaken again.

  • @MaximusProteus You are right here. Transylvania was a part of the Hungarian Kingdom and it was ruled first by voivodes and after that by princes. Today is a part of Romania. I live there (unfortunately). I'm hungarian. In the past hungarians, germans, romanians lived there.Dracula (Vlad Ţepeş) has never conquered it. As I know the story, he spent on night in a castle called "Bran" which is in Transylvania. You can find pictures on the internet about the castle. That is the"Dracula castle"

  • @hammurappi23 - sorry, it was a stupid question, i should understand he took the privillages they had in Wallachia. I know the Kingdom of Hungary consisted of many nations, Duchyies and also was in an union with Kingdom of Croatia.

It must be a good busynes to run a hotel in such a castle :)

  • @MaximusProteus Vlad Ţepeş's father, Vlad Dracul was the member of the Dragon order of knighthood. This name, Dragon somehow turned into Dracul in romanian. He was proud about his membership.

If you have the chance, please come for a visit. It worth the trouble.

You have all my respect for knowing so much about Transylvania.

  • @hammurappi23 - that`s why i thought that "Dracul" means dragon, not 'Devil'.

This year i`m going for a Baltic tour, Vilnius > Riga > Tallin > Helsinki, but for sure Romania is also an interesting destination, especially if i was in Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia already.

Thanks, but i`m generally interested in the history of Europe.

""Drac"" quiere decir = ""DIABLO"" o ""DEMONIO""

  • I am Dracooool! Come to me Mina!

  • This is a real story..

  • actually, Vlad Dracul was the father of Vlad Ţepeş. He was the member of the Dragon Order. I live close to the so called Dracula castle, but in reality Vlad Ţepeş has got nothing to do with that. He was the leader of Muntenia, not Transylvania as many people think. but great story, i admit.

  • @hammurappi23 - yes, as far as i know "Dracul" means Dragon in Romanian. The more common name of Muntenia is actually Wallachia. Vlad earned his dark fame becouse of impaling tens of thousands of Turks, that`s why this nickname "Tepes" (Impaler), also i supose "Draculea" could mean a "son of Dracul", it can be the origin of a name DRACULA. :)=

  • @MaximusProteus yes it's true Muntenia was called in the middle ages Valachia and the people valachians.

  • @hammurappi23 - it depends, in Polish it used to be both "Multany" or "Wołochy", it`s also not a coincidence that Italy is called "Włochy", but i`m confused if Muntenia wasn`t just the eastern part of Wallachia, while the western was "Oltenia".

  • @MaximusProteus man, you really have studied about this part of the world. I truly appreciate that. Once again you are right about Walachia. Muntenia and Oltenia are (were) parts of Walachia, but they were united in a single state = Walachia

yes, it's a good business:) ( that hotel)

  • /the original Dracula was created based on a war hero named Vlad the Impaler, he would Impale his enemies around his castle fort to show he was powerful. It was rumored he would drink their blood, and occasionally eat their flesh. The idea of Dracula came a loooong time later by Bram Stoker... thus the many people on spikes here in this movie.

  • @lavisa13

That's actually incorrect. Dracula was the other name of Vlad. Originally named Vlad Ţepeş later to be nick named Vlad the Impaler. His surname was Dracul which is, "Order of the dragon," and then Dracula, "Son of the Devil" or to others, "Devil." He'd dip his bread in his victim's blood and eat it. Yummy no? Hehe.

Bram Stroker's own Dracula was actually full on based on his boss. He just took the legend and ran with it.

  • Amazing music...simply sublime.

  • YESS!TRUE Dracula movie!!! <3

  • the war wasnt christians vs muslims dracul himself was not a believer but only fought for his country .O.O

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

  • BEST YES!

    im addicted!<3

  • Kilar's style is unmistakable. So European in that it's refined and a bit dark without being a cliche. He's one of my favorites.

  • I saw this film in the cinema when it came out.....I bought the soundtrack recently, I read review on Amazon which compared it to Bela Bartok's "Wooden Prince"...which I bought first....after seeing this I wish to buy the film on DVD...it's all good....I wish people would'nt get into indirect arguements about this n that....enjoy please...great video thanks

  • I must of watched this movie 20 times....not because it is based on Bram Stokers' Dracula, but because of Garry Oldman. Evey movie that he had played a role in has been fascinating. He is a true character actor, he gets right in the role and nothing can stop him! Immortal!

  • that is not the definition of "character actor"

  • Pray, tell us what the definition of "character actor" is? Inform us as we are ignorent.....you must be a Mozart fan!

  • I AM a fan of Mozart, and you incorrectly spelt "ignorant." Here you go, yo - "A character actor is one who predominantly plays a particular type of role rather than leading ones."

You can say Garry Oldman is a true character actor, but that's completely false.

  • And, his name is "Gary Oldman."

  • Thank you for pointing out my spelling. You are a Mozart fan.......what are you doing here giving advice. And remember, people make errrrrorrrrs on UT!!!!!! It is a site that you type fast, and give your opinion. We don't need Hemingway, to correct us!!!

  • @TheTube1970 So true...and it helps that he is pretty damn hot

  • I sooo agree with you.

  • @TheTube1970 agree havent seen this movie tho i think i am gonna buy it

  • @TheTube1970 lol me tew but i wa slike 5 years old i just loved this movie lol

  • I like that some of the music sounds similar to the music in the old hammer movies. Wonder if that was intentional?

  • hm, don´t think so but it´s possible...
