If you watch this interview for just a few minutes you will realize that rehabilitation, redemption, and forgiveness are possible for all of us – no matter what wrongs we have committed.
Definitely not in the same category as truly insane killers like Dahmer, Bundy, the Hillside Stranglers, etc. He does seem genuinely remorseful and I do think he's mostly reformed. But his recollection of cult involvement in the murders still seems sketchy, and I agree that he should not be released from prison, which even he admits.

david berkowitz was not a remorseless psychopathic killer. he was a profoundly sick individual who completely lost control and then took the lives of many innocent people. he's accepted that the price of his crimes is to spend his life in prison and has dedicated himself to positive endeavors. compare this to other serial killers who never express remorse never express guilt, who try to lie and con their way out of responsibility, even gloating about the crimes.. it's apples and oranges.

What most people don`t realize is like 99% of serial killers kill because they get off on it, it is their sexuality, they have orgasms by killing. And what they do it try to blame it on such stuff as "demons" and "devils" but it`s not, it`s no different from guys who get off on rape. There are people who get off on violence and death. What Berkowitz is doing here is trying to hide that, but I guarantee you 1000% every night he has fantasies about killing.

People, use your brain. Obviously you are pretty young or you would know that there was talk for years after his arrest regarding other people being involved. If he did all of this, why are there five different composites, one is him, but the others don't. Why did witnesses place him blocks away when some victims were shot? Why did one shooting victim come on national TV saying he was not the shooter and refuse to ID him even under the police pressure? Think people.

People dont just turn to God once their in there. I know of very bad people that had done stuff unsaid, they turned to God and it changed their lives.

This is just sad. This piece of crap just keeps mentioning his "friends", and how god is keeping him going, its just disgusting. The death penalty is made just for guys like this, and it's a huge injustice that it was not applicable in his case. He gets to live, eat, breath, and feel really good about himself, while his victims have been dead thirty years and their families and friends have been grieving just as long. I wish they would parole him, just so someone could murder his sick a**.

One thing I can say about David Berkowitz is that he knows he isn't getting out, he is as certain of that as everyone else is and when I listen to him I honestly hear sincerity in his voice, as well. Considering that he knows he isn't getting out, why would he lie and try so hard to help others in prison? I, for one, believe he is focused on eternity more than life here on earth. He admits what he has done and blames only himself.

Well obviously most serial killers are master manipulators and such, but I don't necessarily think it's always true. I'm just giving my viewpoint on how he seems. He could be lying, but maybe he's not. I don't think he is; however, if you ever watch the last interview with Ted Bundy, I think Bundy is lying his ass off. So, it's just a personal judgment. I don't really know for sure what's going on through Berkowitz's head in this interview.

Not only does he seem honest but he even states he does'nt deserve to be released I believe because of his past crimes.
