You should check out 'The Happiness of the Katakuris' - It's very different to the others you have seen (it's a comedy/ horror/ musical) but it's really worth seeing.

Yeah but he didn't just do a sloppy, lazy job & making it strange just for the weirdness. If he hadn't added all the surreal things, it would've just been a movie about a guy trying to find his lost partner. He made a boring script into something entertaining. I know that not everyone likes it but you don't have to call everyone who watches something you don't like gay. It just makes you sound...dumb.

I'm a huge fan of Cronenberg and David Lynch but they have dropped the ball in movies as well. Takeshi Mike gets a pass on this one but I truly thought this movie sucked.

The whole point of the blackness is to make the sheer disturbing nature of the scene ever more promenant. So that it really hits you. Also, brilliant movie. Takashi Miike is a genius.
Funny thing is this isn't even the most effed up part!
