  • This video is very serious!

  • thats a joke right?

  • Scratch that, he didn't say that. Whoops, lol! No wonder it sounded crazy.

  • Did he really use that companies are spending millions of dollars to lobby against reform as a justification of this video? lol!!! Seriously, the companies who stand to lose money on this deal are lobbying against it? No shit! I'm sure it just means that they are concerned with your well-being, not their profit margins.

  • these goddamned Hollywood celebrities piss me off so much, its like if the only way to stay in the public light is to be a liberal democrat.

  • @freelancergin Yeah.. because Reagan and Schwarzenegger never stand in the public light...

  • @PassiveFlow Or stood*

  • I remember there was once a story about a Samaritan.... he left the guy out in the desert to die because he didn't have insurance.

  • ja hat jemand Laune mit mir zu chatten bin wieder alleine und eingeödet

  • People are pissy over the comedians' video. Is it because they are overpaid celebrities? No. Let's be honest, if the actors and actresses had been poking fun at "Obama Care" instead of healthcare CEOs would this video have been made? Of course not. Another opposing video? Perhaps. But the folks in this particular video would be silent if the "overpaid celebrities" were representative of "their" cause instead. Partisan buzzkillers.

  • This video is just incredibly lame. Was it really necessary to challenge a video of comedians trying to make people laugh? Are you guys THAT insecure that you feel that celebrities can alter public opinion with a simple humorous two minute video? Pathetic.

  • @Chrispykritter In a Hollywood celebrity-obsessed culture ...YES THEY CAN

  • @mowgly3000 Really? Will Ferrell can alter an individual's entire life-long political beliefs with a short comedy video? That's a stupid assumption, no offense. Sure, there are some simple minded folks out there, but are they such a massive threat to society that these buzzkills in this video felt the need to make a "rebuttle" video? What percent of the population do those cretins really account for? Less than 1% I am sure. Lame.

  • i'm pretty sure if "overpaid celebrities" were pushing you agending, you wouldn't be saying shit. so shut the fuck up. you conservatives do nothing but bitch and moan about your money.

  • Comment removed

  • I like how this video says "adding X million more people, flooding hospitals". Do the uninsured not receive medical care right now? Are there millions dying because they are uninsured? No... I'm pretty sure they are going to the ER after a potentially preventable disease nearly kills them, using taxpayer money to get better.

Also rofl at the medicare/medicaid argument - projections that they will be bankrupt and dont work yet no republican will vote to remove medicare. wtf is this hipocrisy

  • Wow what total bullshit, their republican masters must be really happy they made this or maybe it was funded by a sleazy insurance company. God forbid those poor OVERPAYED insurance CEO's get a taste of their own medicine.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 Dumbocrats also take money from the insurance industries. And the health care, oil, and pharmaceutical industries. The thing is that you lazy liberals expect everyone else to pay for your mortgage, gas, insurance, and everything else.

  • @StoogeWatcher Yeah you keep telling yourself that. At least liberals don't enjoy watching people suffer and die when those people can be helped and saved. And as for lazy, I work very hard all the time and have my entire life (as do all the liberals I know). But you keep believing the bullshit you see on Fox News.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 You liberal hypocrites wanted Terri Schiavo dead because she wasn't a gangbanger, copkiller, or terrorist, yet you were sympathetic to Nidal Hasan. Don't know who Hasan is? He's the Islamofascist who killed fourteen at Fort Hood. And since when do liberals care about hard work, especially since they support quota systems. Just ask the New Haven firefighters or all those denied admission to college or jobs because they're the wrong race. I bet CNN won't tell you that.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 And you liberals don't care about the Gulf Coast anymore. Where are all the Hollywood celebrities and their telethons? Where were Sean Penn and Brad Pitt during the Nashville floods? You lazy liberals expect everyone else to pay for your mortgages for houses you damn well knew you couldn't afford. You also expect me to pay for your gas, insurance, car...Oh wait, you thought Obama was going to pay for all that. I wonder if MSNBC will tell you that.

  • @StoogeWatcher You are so paranoid its sad. Why aren't all the conservative celebrities who lived in Nashville holding a telethon? Most of the news coverage of that flood focused in on the rich and famous people who lost homes, especially the so called coverage on Fox News. You really need medication cause you're delusional and paranoid.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 Conservatives WERE raising money for the Nashville flood victims. And you wanna know what else? Those flood victims were helping each other out instead of blaming the government and waiting for welfare checks. You liberal crybabies attack Fox News, yet you have MSNBC and CNN sharing your point of views: Democrat and idiotic. You liberals need medication because you think that it's okay for tax cheats to write our tax codes.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 I bet you dont live anywhere near that flood.

Katrina was caused by black mayors not allowing Bush and fema to go into the town to help, The blacks were too stupid to leave or make there way from the area. They reverted back to africans roaming and raping and murdering just like in africa. Police had to shoot the rabib ones and others turned the arena into a 3rd world cesspool. How many unemployed and homeless did you allow to sleep in your place last night ?

  • does anyone know who these actors are?

  • HOW FUNNY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SORRY iT IS LOOSERS FUNNY HAHAHAAHAA, PAY YOUR TAXES WHINING BITCHES !!!!!!

  • well you guys arent overpaid celebrities, and ironicly you don't have a clue what you are talking about either.

  • @ashkank2002 wrong jew

  • I'm a health ins. broker who has to pay E and O fees like lawyers and Drs. I don't even own a flat screen T.V. because I pay my own health ins. I bet all these actors have private insurance.

  • This video makes a point. You don't know how many people are really "uninsured."

  • Of course it is about money.

I am trying to raise a family, I need my money for things like food. If you can not support yourself should I starve my kids to pay for your needs??? I think not.

I can not afford to support slackers.

  • @Politicule then get a second job. no one wants to hear about your problems. it's pathetic.

  • @leonromero123

show us one death certificate that says died because of no health insurance ?

    then I buy it

  • @beginization are you fucking retarded uninsured people die all the time.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 So uninsured people die all the time ?

Guess what insured peope die all the time too, its part of life, thats why new people are born too and many die. But if want to feel sorry for celebrities and do as they say and not as they do. Celebs dont care about the enviroment or they would not fly everywhere and damage the country side while filming their movies.

  • @beginization That is fucking stupid, uninsured people die from PREVENTABLE CAUSES you fucking jackass. If they had insurance they'd live longer.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 Now because of Obama rushing his healthcare bill thru you will have to come up with about $15,000 per year or be jailed all for a second rate system that will with hold care the older you get. Now more older people will die even with insurance. Is it even now in your eyes to kill the old.

  • @beginization You should really stop listening to all the bullshit on Fox News, if you actually believe what you posted you need serious psychological attention.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 Maybe you should stop listening to CNN and MSNBC's bullshit.

  • @WhiteFlowerLei76 You should stop listerning to Olberman on msnbc.

Do you think of Obama as being black 23 hrs a day like Mathews.

Your the type to run out and buy any thing Hollywood tells you too

You proberly bought into Climate change and think Polanski should be set free just like your hollywood heros.

  • you dont get it...its not about curing the sick...its about keeping everyone healthy so we dont have to care for them later whenit gets really expensive...god republicans are so retarded and ass backwards

  • Please show me the numbers that show that the greatest cost are not during the last few years of life and how preventive care will reduce those cost.

Some how I don't think you can.

  • Good luck getting preventative medicine with ObamaCare

  • "Although different types of preventive care have different effects on spending, the evidence suggests that for most preventive services, expanded utilization leads to higher, not lower, medical spending overall,"

Douglas W. Elmendorf, director of the Congressional Budget Office

  • Ha maybe if people chose to eat fruits and veggies, instead of bigmacs i wouldnt mind. if you understood how insurance actually works youd have the ability to understand why health insurance costs you more than saving your money and paying for it out of pocket. you need a lesson in economics. its not about being nice its about supply demand. without balances of supply demand prices just keep going up. like college tuition, like health insurance, like health care. get yourself educated plzz

  • You liberals are retarded. You expect me to pay for your insurance, car, gas, mortgages...

  • If people only understood the people that profit from healthcare reform the most are working class and middle class people. The rich will still be able to afford it, the poor already get free care. The health insurance companies own the health care industry, they inflate prices to make money. Comes out of your check if you get insurance from your job. And if you don't it's too expensive to afford.

Research how much profits health insurance companies make from inflating prices and you'll see.

  • Not leaving enough money for lighting directors.

  • Logical fallacy @ 1:24-1:26. Doctors (physicians) may very well provide medical treatment for certain ailments, however, it is the job of the management to look into such questions... "Doctors" would actually have very little knowledge within such a realm.

  • Statemen made in video: "Doctors provide healthcare."

Your counter arguement:: "Healthcare administrators look into such questions."

What questions? Your arguement is a collection of random words without syntax.

And because you DON'T know, Hospital Adminstrators are exclusivly former Doctors. You are very strange and dumb.

  • Since I am a cynic, I just cannot help but point out a logical irony within this parody... since you claim that celebrities are of very little credibility when it comes to certain social care reforms (which I whole-heartedly agree), what credibility, if any, do you (the people performing this parody) have? It's easy to point to politicians for answers, but let's be honest, they have their own agendas to count on... both left and right.

  • You are not as smart as you pretend to be. You think Millionaires complaining about Millionaires is logical? Fuck off! Scott Brown won so we WILL NOT GET SOCIALIZED MEDICINE HA HA HA HA HA HA FUCK YOU!

  • And so the fall of America begins...

  • Oh my god this is the video of the year. Will Ferrill suck on this BITCH!!!!!!! Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oops cyberen3d - I forgot we are all Kings in America!

So much so that we aren't invited to shit, nor are we consulted when OUR tax dollars go to PRIVATE fucking companies. (Banks, automobiles etc.)

God forbid my taxes go to help some unfortunate child who is sick.. I'd much rather go to work to pay to make some bankers richer, oh yes WE ARE ALL KINGS IN AMERICA!

    loll

  • "I forgot we are all Kings in America!"

In America we are each kings of our own domain. Rights originate with the individual and are granted to government. In other countries it's the opposite. Stop acting like a child.

"God forbid my taxes go to help some unfortunate child who is sick."

Some people would rather donate their money to Alzheimer's research. My point is it should be up to the people who produce things how their resources are spent.

  • Who else is sick of sanctimonious foreigners telling us how we should fall in line with the rest of the world? You think life spans would have doubled over the past century if America had gone socialist along with the rest of the world? You think this conversation would even be possible? I don't know what they teach at your government schools but poor people in our country have cell phones, video games and new cars. How about yours?

  • @cyberben3d

Dude have you traveled outside of the U.S before? Maybe you should do more traveling.

I'm no saying everything should be socialist but to say that giving health care coverage to those who need it most is anti-American is nonsense.

    X. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

  • "Dude have you traveled outside of the U.S before? Maybe you should do more traveling."

Yes, many times. I'm always happy to come home. We have immediate access to almost everything you could ever want here and for low low prices. Stepping inside an average American Walmart would blow most people's minds. What did you think I would learn by traveling?

  • Dude I live in fucking America, wtf.

  • orasis: "USA .. why are you destroying yourselves daily on purpose? one fuck up after the next..."

  • "I'm no saying everything should be socialist but to say that giving health care coverage to those who need it most is anti-American is nonsense. "

No, giving something that you do not own to someone is most definitely "anti-American".

American society has never denied health care to those who need it. Confusing the role of society with the force of government is a huge mistake.

  • What are you talking about America itself is freaking stolen land.

Perhaps it should be given back? I mean taking something that is not yours is Anti-American right?

    Oh the hypocrisy.

  • "America itself is freaking stolen land."

What country isn't on stolen land? At least we have reservations. Where are yours?

"Perhaps it should be given back? I mean taking something that is not yours is Anti-American right?"

If my property belonged to someone else and that person could be found I would give it back because, like John Adams, I consider property rights to be a natural extension of our humanity. Do you?

    "Oh the hypocrisy."

Oh the ignorance. Still think we're retarded?

  • Are you serious? Really, you can't name a country that is not stolen land and his been inhabited by the same peoples for thousands of years?

"If my property belonged to someone else and that person could be found"

YOU CAN FIND THEM THEY LIVE ON THE RESERVES!

    You're such a hypocrite it's amazing lol.

You try so hard to emulate your betters that it's sad.

  • The fact is there is no living claimant on my property and no legitimate reason you can give me why I'm not the rightful owner. What *would* be hypocritical is to act like stealing is wrong while calling people hypocrites for standing up for property rights.

  • Sure sure, the natives have no claim to the land of America, no no they were only here for at least 1,300 years before you arrived on this Earth.

So let's say you had children and I stole your entire 'estate' (I use that term very lightly) and was able to hold on to it until your death.

    I win?

Your children according to your logic have no claim on YOUR property and so there is no legitimate reason to give it back.

  • orasis, it is tragic what happened to the Native Americans. Clearly their property rights were violated. But how would it be any less of an injustice for me to be deprived of my property today without proof that it belongs to someone else? Everyone has ancestors that were wronged somehow in the past. I'm part Mexican Indian and part Polish. Does that mean I should enslave someone today to make up for everything that happened to my ancestors?

  • P.S you know that most persons who suffered the Holocaust and other genocides are dead but are still receiving monies from the states involved yeah? Are you against that too?

You must be because it's the exact same thing we did the to Native Americans, I dare say worse.

  • orasis the victims of genocide don't give a fuck about your sanctimonious reparations. If you really cared about the victims you would study what led to their suffering and you would be advocating the same positions that I am.

  • P.S

You did not respond : How do you feel about your tax monies being taken for private business? Does that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside at night?

And, my kingship, (lol) how long has it been since you were invited to any state conference?

And again what property rights? - You don't even own property in the United States we all rent.

Don't pay your taxes (a nice lean) and see how long you 'own' it even if you paid it all off.

  • And America isn't stolen land? Answer that before you go on some genocidal ad hominem.

  • @orasis Yeah Right Like We took it from the Mexicans ? Get Real The Spaniards stole Mexico from the Aztec and the Mayans and were moving north trying to dominate the native Indians , We stole America From the RED MAN not the Brown, If We were going to Give America Back to anyone It would be the American Indian !

  • @RCMANX

You're forgetting that genetically the Native Americans and the South Americans belong to the same haplotype.

A Mexican and a Mohawk may differ by modern culture but they are quite similar in blood and race.

But I never said America was stolen from the Mexicans, I said it was stolen - which it was from the Native Americans.

  • @RCMANX

And the Aztecs/Mexicans are NATIVE to America you idiot, Mexico is part of North America.

That makes Mexicans North Americans if you want to get all technical about it.

  • @RCMANX OMG thank you! For once, someone who knows American History! Finally, someone who doesn't use the "Pilgrims stole America from the Indians" argument. I've been saying that all along. I hate PPl who think illegals and illegals themselves who feel they have an entitlement to a country that's been settled since we won the Revolution. They think (not all Mexicans) they have a right to settle in America because the U.S. was stolen but not realizing they stole Mexico and parts of the U.S.

  • cyberben3d...speaking of property..you don't really own it..if the government wants it you WILL lose it...see Imminent Domain. This is a very true document here...doesn't it make you wonder what the bigger picture is behind this so called health care project??

  • @ dontbsilly - The fact that property rights are routinely violated by government does not mean they don't exist. Eminent domain is a perfect example of why government can't be trusted. It was supposed to be used for roads and courthouses but now it's used to transfer property from one individual to another. The bigger picture behind health care reform is to scare new investment out of the industry long enough so the government can take over. It's a simple power grab.

  • um...I do live in america actually. Not to mention my net worth is in the millions and u people think democrats were lazy.

  • let me guess... shape shifting reptiles from another dimension come to enslave humanity through hip hop music?

  • Sometimes I wonder if Americans are retarded when it comes to how tax money is spent.

You already use your money for someone elses benefit.

You pay the roads which others use, the Police, the Congress's salary, the Presidents salary, the electricity and food in the white house. The Military, schools etc etc.

Paying taxes for other peoples benefit is the POINT OF TAXATION.

  • "Paying taxes for other peoples benefit is the POINT OF TAXATION."

Incorrect. Taxes are to fund the government. The government is to secure my freedom. Therefore taxes are for my own benefit.

"You pay the roads which others use"

Roads are paid for by the gasoline tax. So those who use them the most pay the most. Usage based taxes are very different than imposing taxes on people for things they cannot avoid to fund benefits they will never see.

I don't think you understand our system of govt.

  • And who does the Government use to secure your freedom? The U.S military and the U.S military is made up of who? That's right the majority of soldiers are lower class.

And how will you keep your freedom when there is not enough healthy lower class people to make up a powerful military?

Read the damn U.S constitution and federalist papers before you rattle on about Government is there to secure your freedom.

The founders said freedom lays with the people tyranny with the State.

  • By the way while you're at it do you think we should stop funding schools as well? Perhaps we should also do away with water filtration and public water works as well.

I mean you can afford all of that on your own can't you?

Stop acting like you're elite - you're not you're just as much of a peasant that depends on public monies to live as everyone else.

  • Oh! and yes, the Police services must end because everyone pays that, same with the fire services.

You can hire your own water company, water works, police forces and fire department.

You can't? fucking bum get a job!

That's how stupid your argument sounds.

  • That's where you are wrong orasis. I am not a peasant. In our system there are no peasants. Everyone is a king. The cost of this system is "personal responsibility". We think the cost is worth it. By the way if you really had read the Constitution you would understand the difference between direct and indirect taxation. You might also know that nothing prevents the states or local governments from providing health care. If people are so desperate for it why have only a few states done it?

  • Really now, you're a king? Ok, go tell the American Aristocracy that. Seriously go ahead and show up at their conferences, you know the ones you are not invited to.

Or perhaps you can have a nice chat with the President, just show up.. you know king a king.

    We're not peasants - HAHAHA.

I've read the constitution my man I know what it says and it's a great document but there is nothing unconstitutional about providing for the general welfare.

  • orasis you are talking out of the wrong orifice. Anyone who has seriously studied the Constitution knows that right after the general welfare clause there is a very short list of enumerated powers which DON'T include providing health care. General welfare does not mean "specific" welfare. However, powers not delegated to the Federal government belong to the states or the people so if the people wanted whatever amazing system your country uses they would already have it at the state level.

  • Those are all services provided by local government and they are far from perfect. The police create more crime than they solve by enforcing drug laws. You still have to pay for water but you only get one choice. Fire departments work but they have an extremely simple job. These are very poor models for satisfying the demands of a market as complex as health care.

  • No no, you have all of the choice in the world if you wish to pay for it.

Oh, you can't afford your own water system? I guess those that can have the right to condemn you to death than. Water is only a basic need and all.

  • "Oh, you can't afford your own water system? I guess those that can have the right to condemn you to death than. Water is only a basic need and all."

this is exactly why I don't want to live in a socialist system. It produces people that can't imagine how they would survive without government providing every basic need. They are like infants. They only know how to demand what others produce.

  • @cyberben3d

So you're telling me that you own your own - water works, water pipes, police service, fire service, trash pick up, Military, University, College and the like?

Oh wait, no, no you don't you depend on Government (other peoples money) to provide this for you.

    Oops.

  • orasis it's not rocket science. many fire depts still run on a volunteer basis in our country. I have a well and septic tank, trash pickup is private, as is my phone, internet, tv, electricity, lawn service, street lights, even my neighborhood roadwork and security. As for education, I teach homeschool kids and they are ten times smarter than kids in government schools. I didn't go to college but there are private colleges within driving distance. Did you think government invented these things?

  • Your military? Your Police? heh.

Even though the firefighters in most cities are volunteers the machinery is state supplied.

Your internet state subsidies, television advertising.

    B

  • Orasis, the military and police are only there to secure our natural rights. Fire trucks are paid for by local taxes. The state doesn't subsidize the internet; in fact they tax the hell out of the telco's that provide all the bandwidth. Government can always be counted on to jump on the latest innovation, tax it to death and then claim they invented it.

  • @cyberben3d

    Haha true dat.

  • @cyberben3d

Speaking of which - corporations and the very wealthy pay most of the taxes so I suppose only they should be able to drink water, or use the fire service or attend school.

  • hes right, im a canadian and i think its insane that some americans dont want universal healthcare. they are the most powerful nation in the world, and nations with much less can provide GOOD healthcare to its citizens, contrary to what fox news will tell you. anyone who watches that channels news and takes its seriously have been succesfully brainwashed by those private insurance companies that want YOU to keep paying them, because they are a business, and their prime motive is to make money.

  • @alexR0X0Rs

You know what I find even dumber? Is all tax is paid for someone elses benefit.

No one seems to have a problem with paying the salaries of existing millionaires like the Congress/President/Senate...

But god no! Don't have healthcare oh god no!

It's amazing how while they bitch about that they have nothing to say about being taxed to pay the salaries of people who are already extremely wealthy.

    Or bail out banks... lol

  • tHATS WHY MOST OF YOU ARE ON HERE

  • And why are you on here smarcel1? You're 22 and you don't live in America. Have you really given much thought to this subject? Thanks for the great contribution though.

  • @cyberben3d

I've thought about it. I get taxed for health care and when I get sick I get the care I need without worrying about how much it will cost since I've already paid for the care.

I prefer that to the third world system of pay as you go health care.

The only countries left without universal care really are third world countries and the U.S....

USA .. why are you destroying yourselves daily on purpose? one fuck up after the next...

  • Oh yea I forgot this ad was targeted to IGNORANT republicans

  • Just a few things government can do to solve health care:

    1) Open up competition by striking down anti-competition laws enacted by the states (Interstate Commerce Clause)

    2) Give the same tax breaks to individuals as businesses get for providing health care so health care will no longer be attached to your employment

    3) Create more competition by allowing RN's to write prescriptions

  • 4) Allow drugs from Canada to be covered

    5) Allow tax free medical savings accounts

    6) Enforce contract law to eliminate frivolous lawsuits which drive up costs

    7) Limit the power of the FDA so new drugs can at least be AVAILABLE to those who want to take the risk

    8) Stop spending so much damn money and putting the country into so much debt the interest payments alone would pay for everyone's health insurance LOL

  • Yes *some* rich people are scum bags who use government force to give themselves advantages, but rich people as a "class" are not the ones screwing us. the no-bid contracts, the bailouts and corporate welfare are all examples of BIG CENTRALIZED GOVERNMENT doing exactly what it always does. It should be no surprise that people are gorging themselves on the unrelenting stream of money that government extracts from the general population through taxes and the printing of unbacked money.

  • Yeah, I mean, it's not like any OTHER country does this for its citizens. I mean, look at Cana-- er... Look at Fr... Oh uh... England? Cuba???

Never before have so few taken so much from so many. Wake up.

  • Oh I'm wide awake. You people just keep making the same dumb arguments. Let's see... taking things from people is wrong so we should make everyone pay for everyone's medical treatment and be like Cuba.

  • Well, yeah. That's the idea. You just said it. "Let's make everyone pay for everyone's medical treatment". It's just wrong to not look at us as a single entity when it comes to social issues. We need to pay for public health, like public education, utilities, parks. Are we really saying that money is more important to us than life? We want more people in debt so that they can be allowed to live? Being alive and healthy is a commodity in one of the most powerful countries? What's wrong with us?

  • ekakutsuri: Have you ever opened a history book? Just look at the number of people who have been murdered or starved in the name of treating society as a "single entity". It's called collectivism. I'm not even going to touch your comparison of life to a "commodity".

  • Nah. History is lame. We're murding and starving people right now in the name of capitolism and the american dream. Right here in the US, too. Towns literally filled with starving, desparate and dying people.

"You people just keep making the same dumb arguments..."

I imagine that would be because we keep getting deflected answers and insults to our intellegence. This is a moral issue, so I'd like to hear how it's NOT saying "I deserve money more than you deserve life."

  • "Right here in the US, too. Towns literally filled with starving, desparate and dying"

You may in fact be intelligent but your arguments are dumb. Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system. I would much rather be poor and desperate in the US than any other country.

  • It's not capitalism, collectivism, communism or any form of government that causes its people to suffer. It is the abuse of that system, and the willingness of the people to punish those abuses that makes the difference.

  • And how would you ration the health care ekakutsuri? How would you decide who "deserves" a heart transplant and who dies? At what point do you stop spending money on a patient because their life isn't as valuable as another's. How could any of those decisions be "moral"?

Also, while there is nothing about capitalism itself that causes people to suffer, you can't say the same about communism. Any system that deprives people of their right of self ownership causes suffering and is evil.

  • You're saying that health care isn't controlled now. We have transplant committees that determine if an organ can be donated based on health criteria. This system already exists, so isn't this point moot?

I'm not trying to say anything about any governmental system. The people that are ruled must be willing to stand against injustices and not be broken by the inequities of their rulers.

  • "We have transplant committees that determine if an organ can be donated based on health criteria. This system already exists, so isn't this point moot?"

You are extremely naive if you think it's a moot point who controls such a system. Whenever there is not enough of something to go around it has to be rationed in some way. All methods of rationing are unfair and discriminatory in some way. The question is do you want the same people who run the IRS in charge of finding hearts for people?

  • @cyberben3d

Health is already rationed on the basis of supply/price and demand.

  • Rationing on the basis of supply/price and demand is called "for profit". In this system entrepreneurs are rewarded for anticipating where demand is outstripping supply. In other words profit is the reason we have enough drugs and medical services for everyone at any given time. No one knows of any better way of rationing resources than this system. In government run systems they have to ration by congestion (long waits) because there is no mechanism for meeting changing demand.

  • "This is a moral issue, so I'd like to hear how it's NOT saying "I deserve money more than you deserve life."

This a straw man. I don't have to be deprived of property by force so that others can live. Before the welfare state people were taken care of by charity / church hospitals and if they couldn't afford care they could go on a payment plan. No one was turned away. Consider your morality argument in the face of "rationed care" which is the only kind of care the government can provide.

  • We're talking about living, here, not 'being alive'. Sure, we're decent enough to save someone from the brink of death, even provide them expensive preventative care if they're just sick. The point is the payment and telling people how deep in debt they get to be to keep, say, a severed limb. I would argue that even rationed care is better than losing everything you own to stay alive. Even so, if that's not right then come up with something else. Laziness is no reason to sacrifice livelihood.

  • Part of the problem with this debate is people assume that the system we are under now is "free market", and seeing how expensive and messed up it is they are tempted to blame "capitalism". The entire argument unfolds when you understand that medicine is among the least capitalist industries in the country. In fact 50% of medical expenditures are paid by the Federal government alone. All the problems of the system can be traced back to government intervention into the free market.

  • i really have no idea what all that was supposed to mean or what it has to do with the public option. Who cares if it is a free market? it is something driving people into debt, removing them from the consumer market and forcing them to be a drain on society. Either people get sick more often from avoiding the cost of a doctor, meaning they work less and have less money or they become disabled. Not taking care of people costs YOU more money, no matter who you are. Capitalism in action.

  • "Who cares if it is a free market?"

    Who cares about freedom?

"Not taking care of people costs YOU more money, no matter who you are. "

You think government run health care is going to be more efficient?

    "Capitalism in action."

    Okay Michael Moore.

  • I really wish more people could have the understanding of economics that you do. I really get sick of the people acting like they know whats going on when the only education of economics they have came from there liberal macro proffesor or high school econ teacher, or better yet, what they here on MSNBC

  • Was that sarcasm? You didn't spell 'hear' right.

  • That wasnt sarcasm, and I didnt mean to mispell "hear"

  • Oh. Okay. Thanks, then! Sorry for being a spelling 'nazi'.

  • THAT is a straw man. Something's gone wrong so we should continue to fail on it. Deprived of property? I presume that's the additional tax the nation may eventually take on. The same taxes that pay for wars we wage and schools that teach. There are public services that a people can expect of its nation. This is one of them, and there are other, older nations that are pretty much laughing at our stupidity for not doing this sooner.

The truth is that you're a sheep. Stop bahhing the party line.

  • "there are other, older nations that are pretty much laughing at our stupidity for not doing this sooner."

Is that supposed to be an argument? Which one of us is the sheep?

    "Stop bahhing the party line."

    You are pathetic.

  • Hahaha. Yeah, yeah. Your mom. =)

  • This video is so true especially with stupid liberal actress like Susan Serandon and Jeanine Garafalo. I used to like Janine and think she was smart until her theory stating that people who disagree with obama are automatically racist.... No it cant be because the man is just an idiot, lets make it a race issue. Dumb bitch she is lol.

  • How about another mockumentary on our latest power grab - climategate. I'd be looking forward to seeing it.

  • I'd like to propose marriage to the guy in the hat.

  • The american govt can't operate the post office adequately and you people want Govt to be in charge of your health care??...okie dokie,,,just don't cry afoul when your paying for the 4th abortion of some street hooker...or when you pay for a lung transplant of a smoker of 25 years*

  • @mookixox

Yeah because being in league with the third world countries is the way to 'leading the world'

WTF happened to Americans? They used to be so damn clever.

MOST of your soldiery comes from the lower classes your fucking idiot.

If the MASS of your military grow up unhealthy guess what? your military will die.

And then goes the value of your dollar.

Your founders would have figured that shit out.

  • "If the MASS of your military grow up unhealthy guess what?"...Then maybe they should cut down on the Mcdonalds and smoking and crack you dumb cunt.

"WTF happened to Americans? They used to be so damn clever."...when was that ?..."being in league with the third world countries"...you mean the 25-30% of uninsured americans means lowering everyone elses standards so your mom can get free abortions on my tax dollars? LOL

  • these woozies would like to return to 19th century "???? no social security, no medicare ? THIS VIDEO=BULLSHIT

  • Blacks and whites are suffering equally in the loss of our rights.

  • "They may not be real doctors, but they play one on TV"

ROFL, this is gold. 5 star

  • Seriously, give me a f'ing break. I'm a "middle class" individual who is FED UP with the rich "paying their fair share" because they pay their share 30x's over.

The only class war being waged is waged AGAINST the wealthy.

  • if your house is destroyed you should of had insurance and you should of lived in a better state its called moving! the people in new orleans knew that they lived below sea level its no wonder they got flooded oO The bailout helped our econemy if you think your voice matters on calling wallstreet fatcats not deserving bailouts. you are wrong take responsablity and make choices that aren;t stupid. People have 5% say in anything that gets passed.

  • I was born and raise in New Orleans when Katrina hit and destroy the city almost every body was looking for government to help, they were in shelters and said they lost their jobs and had no money. but people from all around the state came to help becuse of the jobs it created. Some people that were right there wouldn't get off their butt to help becuse they always depended on gov for everything so that was natural for them to sit there and wait for government to get them back on their feet.

  • fuck u liberals GO GET A DAMN JOB YOU FUCKERS! STOP BEING LAZY AND GO WORK.LRN2NOTSUCK

  • Actually, you do spend money on oil every day (food, medicine, plastics, detergent, paint etc etc) so it's not the oil that's stupid my friend....

  • No Because oil is America's number priority beside health care...why do you think other countries dont want to shake your presidents hand and because we have to spend soo much money on food, detergent, medicine, etc for Americans to live on..MY FRIEND :d

  • Okay......Not every liberal is lazy, just stupid!

  • And not every republican is arrogant...oh wait...that was sarcasm. And btw I don't clssify myself as liberal or conservative

  • Well according to liberal logic, it MUST not be our fault were arrogant, we were born that way, its psychological condition, the media made me do it (and other phrases that negates having to take responsibility for your own action) Maybe you liberals can waste money and start useless programs for people like us. And then have no idea where the funds that support such programs go. Into the pockets of crooked people like Al Shaprton. Oh no now the liberal are gonna call me a racist...

  • You would be shock at the amount of people still living in fema trailer on gov aid. why are we being force to help people who don't help themselves. These gov programs are so poorly operated and they want to add more programs?

  • If you just did this to block millions of people's chance toward real health reform because your fueled by greed money and power instead of compassion then I hope you soon get what you deserve (how about getting laid off, and losing your health insurance, while being diagnosed with brain cancer and told you now dont qualify for quality insurance because of a pre-existing condition. Spending your last precious days fighting corp. loopholes instead of spending your last moments with your family)

  • To all you folks pointing out how much it costs to raise kids. Live within your means also means control the amount of children you have. If you can't afford to have 2 kids, don't have 3. I'm sick and tired of all these libs with too many children. Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie. It's called birth control. You want more kids make sure you can afford them.

  • Lol liberal ownage

  • This great..........

  • Food is more basic and essential to life than health care. Should the government take over the grocery stores and give out "free" food to everyone??? I guess that would be the "fair" thing to do. They would probably even tell us that we would have more choices and better quality of food!

  • Its pretty funny. But propaganda for the insurance and the pharmaceutical companies isn't. They make a fortune, and you guys are doing your part to defend their class interests.

  • you are wrong sir. They are 35th in a list of the top 100 most profitable companies. they only have a profit margin of just over 2 percent. you have no idea what your talking about. Reform is needed but the public option is not the way.

  • Seriously unfunny. But hey, good job at doing the work of the wealthy and entitled by pointing out that celebrities are wealthy and entitled.

  • To Gunfighter: Fallacious arguments can come in bunches. So yes, the original ad is an appeal to authority, but it also it provides a juvenile (intellectually at least) view of the opponent's position. That is textbook strawman.

  • oh ad hominem, that what this video also is

  • The funny?

The Funny? Has anyone seen the funny?

It sure isn't in this video.

  • you know i noticed somthing the other day

all the people against affordable healthcare are riche people who can afford it

oh and this video, one big strawman

  • Strawman...I guess you didn't see the original Will Ferrell MoveOn spot. And stop changing the terms to suit your argument. First it's national health care, then it's health care reform, then it's affordable health care. It's clear that you don't understand you oppnent's positions, so you should go talk to people who agree with you. You're not big enough for this playground. And when you say "all the people are...", that's a classic genralization, also a fallacy.
