when you do the first row after making the 4 chain cirlcle do you go under both parts of the stitch or just one side?

Great tutorial, one critique though: You say "repeat twice" and I don't think that is what you mean & that is where people get confused. Repeat should already mean, do a second time. When you say repeat twice, people assume you mean repeat two more times in addition to the first time making 3 times total. Hope that helps!

Otherwise, wonderful tutorial! Many of the crochet tutorials are hard to follow because people move too fast and have poor visuals, yours are wonderful!

bah humbug! yours looks like it has holes in it so the crochet hook fits in them so easily!!!!! mine doesnt and its hard to know where to put the crochet hook. Also, mine isnt cone-shaped. can you be more specific on making it more like a cone?????

Ugh. This is irritating me so badly. First, I can't make the circle. Holding it seems incredibly awkward. Secondly, after kind of making the circle, and moving on to the second step, I couldn't find my stitches in order to single crochet inside them.

I don't really know how to get around that. the stitches don't look normal at all.

@mskiwii It honestly sounds like you're a beginner to crocheting in general. I suggest you watch some videos first on how to do some basic stitches and how to crochet for beginners. Also some videos on how to hold your yarn and hook effectively while you're working because there is more than one way.
