@nlytend1 Well if you're in college and want to be an officer,I'd recommend ROTC, it's tougher to get in OTS these days and the economy isn't helping too much for people who want to be in the military.
@RADIOHeAd140 It's a little too late for me. I'm in my junior year and if I apply for NROTC now, it will be for Fall 2011 at best: a semester before graduation.
at 2:05 "if you're empty spiritually, you have nothing to give the troops"? wow...the military just want to blatantly drive certain people out and certain ones in. very American of you to show how accepting you are of diversity.
@nlytend1 Its not the military, its just the chaplains. Trust me, its very biased with religion in the chaplain corps on the count of there being no atheist chaplains. Us other people on the other hand don't care who you worship or not, as long as you have our asses when we're under fire.
@RADIOHeAd140 Sorry but now I'm confused. Athiests don't really believe in anything so what is the point of the chaplain for that? And as to the whole large scale thing, that's the reason why. A chaplain for a religion that might have myabe 1 out of every 200 sailors, marines or coast guardsmen being part of it would not be worth the money spent training them.
Im so happy to be going into this as a RP such a good cause!

I'm atheist, and I proudly serve my Navy because I care about my country and I don't need a god to do what's right. Something i just want to say.

@RADIOHeAd140 Isn't an atheist chaplain an oxymoron?
indoorin 1 year ago
@indoorin Thats the point, they're either part of a major denomination (Judaism, Christianity, or Islam) or they're nonexistant.
