  • 0:40,

    oh he intercepted all right

  • ISRAELI PILOT!!!!!!! DONT FORGET!

  • THIS F-15 EXPERENCE WAS INSPIRED TO CREATE SOLO WING PIXY OF ACE COMBAT ZERO

  • @Skybolter Cool.

  • @mrkhoros I never said that they were designed to fly on one wing. If you would read my comment i said: "CAN fly on one wing". Only a flaming idiot would DESIGN a plane with one wing, as you are correct in that the flight characteristics of a one-wing plane would be outrageously abnormal. Now I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and lets say they did make this up, why would they just decide to blow the wing off of one of 83, on average $30.5 million(USD), F-15s? I know the Israelis may do

  • Obviously FAKE video can not cheat on me.I am a Mig-29 pilot and this is impossible at all!

  • @pouyansaki .....the video wont cheat on you but your wife will, with an American Fighter Pilot, because she wants a real fuck`n......and that would be me, and when im done fucking your wife i`ll shoot you and your junk russian mig-29 out of the sky and then go fuck your wife again, because she will be waiting on the tarmac when i land.

  • Israelis lie a lot to make others think they are mighty ... not gonna believe this also History channel is full of BS ... so when two untrusted sources are claiming something extraordinary happened the logical thing to do is not to believe them :D

  • this obviously is fake .. no rules of physic would be applied to such a plane .. would u believe if id told u i saw a bird flying with one wing ? no wonder the plane is awesome and everything but as a pilot i cant imagine such a thing could be real .. also israel has a small tendency to make up such stories .. they have done it in the past to show U.S. they level of sophistication and usually they always fail

  • @mrkhoros ...your imagination is stunted....you say your a pilot? flying kites does not make you a pilot.

  • @popsflying evidently trolling in pages and making stupid comments make you one .. doesn't it ? u cant even fly a kite with one wing .. make a paper airplane with one wing that flies straight and send it to airbus technology and invention dept. let them have a good laugh about it sonny boy

  • They used this incident at the end of the Richard Herman, Jr. novel FIREBREAK.

  • was this a real world combat or training?

  • Real ! In fact they always put two wings, cause it's more beautiful, but only one is needed !

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... u are not serious .. are u ?

  • HOLY, that is insane!

  • one of the most best and reliable planes ever

  • wow

  • USA STRONG

  • its jesus..

    simple

check my channel its alot more amazing then this lol

  • @XXmanik fuck you!!!

  • @XXmanik clearly you are a fucking bastard judging by the comments on your channel, jesus christ? go fuck yourself.

  • @armydude162

u will be in my prayers

    grow up

  • @XXmanik what are you talking about?! it was an israele Pilot, don't you know those people are jews, they killed jesus.

  • just amazing

  • Amazing!!

  • LOL i would have hated to have been the crew cheif of that jet.. about a month ago i caught a 15 that had both tires blown out on landing. but this... this is a nightmare.

  • im in tech school in usaf to be a crewchief on 16s but for basic knowledge ( fighter) classes were mixed with the 15 and A10 students he said its true and he said the a10 has also landed with out a wing before the breifing i recieved today was about this situation and i looked it up

  • Yes, it was real.

  • That was some good flying.

  • shit music in the background ruined that

  • This shows that F-15s are designed to be lifting body aircraft.

I agree with bigdougdog, with my background as Aero Engineer and single-engine jet instructor. ailerators helped.

  • The F-15 is desinged so the whole body acts as a lifting surface not jsut the wing as with most aircraft. it is desinged that way to help it manuver and climb which was its purpuse in being built. in my opinion that combined with the verticle stabilizers and excessive forward airspeed kept it under control. there is also another instance of this that we were breifed on in flight school but i saw no pics. prett y awsome jet i must say.

  • este se hace el canchero porque aterrizo sin un ala, parrado aterrizo en una montaña sin las dos alas y sin la cola, y no salio a alardear

  • my dad is in the airforce

  • who cares

  • @1999dsk fail troll

  • IMO,I think what helped save the day was that the horizontal stabilizer on the same side wasn't taken out in the colision. It kinda acted like a second wing long enough to land.

If it were taken out along w/ the right wing, the Eagle would have spun out of control & the crew would had either ejected or died.

  • Saw 2 of these flying today (RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, UK) =D

  • @AlExXx364 When spinning out of control you really think its smart to eject?

  • @evidesmc No ofcourse not. However, this pilot levelled out and controlled the plane. If i'd regained control myself then i would eject straight away.

  • @AlExXx364 3 months to come up with that?

  • holy crap

  • @AlExXx364 Most Probably the altitude the plane was at and the G - Force the pilot was experiencing couldnt allow the pilot to punch out.

  • The navigator is the RIO correct?

  • isnt the f15 such a good plane?

  • lol, i thought i've seen everything but THIS takes the cake :D nice vid

  • It may be made in the US, but the skill of the Israeli pilot brought it back in.

  • you no wat they say the US is high quality

  • MADE IN USA!

  • @34D2234 breaks easily

  • wooo that guy deserves a medal

  • He survived a crash to tell the story. That's the biggest medal to have.

  • This story is true. A plane CAN land on one wing if the wing loading can hold up. Also said in the video he landed at twice the speed of regular landing. For those of you who know nothing of planes... sit down, shut up, and hurt yourself.

  • @airforcetobe4 rag caused by the still remaining wing would simply put the plane into one hell of a spin, and NO they are NOT designed to fly on one wing. This story has the same level of credibility as iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Fairy tales are fairy tales no matter how hard you try to explain them via "freak aerodynamic occurrences" . stupid morons like u with such make believe stories wont fool the world anymore .. so GTFO

  • This incident occur during an isrealy training excercise. The planes are one(1) F-15 (Eagle) and one(1) A-4 (Skyhawk). As stated in the video.

  • wow thats amazing I wonder how he survived I mean if you take that amount of damage then what are you going to do if your lucky who the hell cares

  • wow good pilot and good plane!

  • OK, so let's say it really happened. Why bother to make such crudely faked video as supporting entertainment? The stills at the end look okay...no-one had a video camera afterward?

  • I totally agree with you, the amount of truth was high enough to make a real documentary without patching scenes up to the real footage. I guess this video also deserves a little award for visual effects ;)

    Merry Xmas

    WoodenGun

  • It's actually true. I saw a show about it, in which they had actual photo's and an interview with the pilot.

  • intersting to note the positions of the engine exhuast nozzles at the very end. He clearly knew he needed alot more power on the right, that's what kept that side of plane lugging along. Great job!

  • thats awesome

  • That is freakin incredible

  • wow..

  • good, he's alive!

  • He did not eject because he did not realize his wing was missing...

  • yeah

  • why did he take the chance on landing it? Wouldn't you eject?

  • I think a two fold required landing speed is enough reason to eject despite the fact the plane would level at that speed... still an impressive feat.

  • Cause the plane could have fallen to the ground and killed more people and he needed to be over water ect to eject.

  • it is true......all the air forces in the world study the case...( well maybe the best ones )....that happened in the early 80''s....

  • the F-15 is a beast! I wonder if the F-22 could take a beating like that and come back like this one...

  • it is a true story but if he knew there was 1 wing and didnt eject it would put him of and he would have died so he is a good pilot but lucky

  • You all are wrong. This story is in fact true. It's a miracle, I know. But it did happen. It sure did happen. It was on the history channel AND the news.

  • THIS DUMB BASTARD WAS SHOOTING DOWN AN F-100, YOU KNOW 1950 AND '60S? you faggots can't win! l

  • Tedbohne,

The flying footage is nothing to do with the actual incident. Stock footage is used along with graphic altered footage to re-create the incident. They used footage of USAF F-15 Strike Eagles to represent the Israeli F-15.

  • The F-15 is a legendary Air Superiority jet plane.

  • holy shit thats an amazing aircraft

  • its all his fault lol!

  • that guy was lucky he was able to make it back safely

  • one word wow!!

  • DamnIt! That is some real skills!

  • This planes are designed to fly on one wing as the cockpit and fushlage are themselves an aerodynamic package

  • Drag caused by the still remaining wing would simply put the plane into one hell of a spin, and NO they are NOT designed to fly on one wing. This story has the same level of credibility as iraqi weapons of mass destruction. Fairy tales are fairy tales no matter how hard you try to explain them via "freak aerodynamic occurances"

  • You are right, It was not designed to fly with one wing. But it still did it. And the incident is common knowledge in every Air force that uses the F15. It is documented and true.

  • Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction during the 80s and 90s and it was believed that they had some after. Saddam Hussein did use weapons of mass destruction during his war with Iran.

  • He didnt but given from USA,pact was saying Saddam cant use them with war planes do you know what did he do?

    He used that with helicopters.

  • Man has skills

  • i saw this on tv it is true

  • title is wrong, the wing was still there, just a part of it was taken off.

  • Sure, if you consider 3 inch shards of sheetmetal a wing.

  • Sure, if you consider 6 inches of jagged sheet metal a wing.

  • @ponchoyo his wing is smaller then the aerilon

  • amazing!

  • If you dont believe a plane can fly after severe damage, look up photos of the many aircraft that limped home after collisions and anti aircraft damage during World War Two. This IS possible but to get away with it depends on so many varying factors (weight, speed, power, skill, remaining body surfaces) that trying to repeat it would probably be impossible. Its a freak aerodynamic occurance that might not have happened had just one more square metre of wing been missing in one critical spot.

  • Fuckin hell lucky bastard

  • jew....

  • no way !!

    lies, lies, lies...

  • mate it is true

  • nope that pic isnt edited thats the real deal, but the video was a re-enactment

  • It is possible. I am a private pilot, and this is possible, but this ability depends on the aircraft. The F-15, like greatplanesman said, generates lift from the wings and the fuselage. The tail generates lift as well, but the leading edge is in a slipstreme caused by the wing, so it wouldn't generate lift with a wing there. You can also adjust the engines. The engines, just by producing thrust, push the aircraft up and forward. You can't do this on an F-15, but you can adjust how much

  • power is coming out of each engine. And draugruin, the lift issue can be solved by deploying negative flaps and full ailerons to create equal lift on both sides, and then you can control the plane with the rudder and the elevators. Like I said, it is possible, but it depends on both the plane's design and the pilots skill level.

  • You are correct sir. And if you notice the last picture in this video, you will see that the port and starboard engines are very obviously adjusted for different levels of thrust to compensate!

  • zizi nedivi. Google it asswipe

  • I was an F 15 Ashop avionics in the AF. This story was posted in our squadron along with photos of one of our planes that came back with major wing damage too, Missing about half the wing and a major chunk of vertical stab...It happened, dont beleive everything you see on tv. But this one is real.

  • It happened! Get over it. And no sources are ever 100% accurate, take yourself for example!

  • If the video was fake, how come it was on the History Channel on TV? Just because you don't believe something, doesn't mean it's fake....idiots

  • my grandpa was in WW2 and he flew the p-47 thunderbolt and he got his left wing shot off and he didnt want to eject so he landed the plane with one wing on his plane. and i still have that video. ill try to put it up on youtube

  • yeah i'd really like to see tht

  • wow, I never dreamed you could fly never mind land a fighter plane with one wing. Cheers to the engineers who designed this aircraft. I'm not so sure an F-16 pilot would have done as well.

  • Firstly, the F-15's fuselage also generates lift. Reason why the plane leveled out after he punched afterburners is that he either rolled full right aileron (to keep the left wing up), or the fusleage generated enough lift on that side to allow the pilot to still fly the aircraft, even though one wing was missing. Even so, it would have been very difficult to stay airborne with an aircraft of this size.

  • it's not you man, they say it in their report

  • Comment removed

  • with one wing

    with

    not on

  • top gun

  • "nobody likes israel especially not the lord"

    Why have you asked him??

  • omg he is an ace

  • wow ace

  • if this is real im guessing that the wing didnt come off untill the aircraft was going slowon the ground or at least on the ground. watch the video of the bomb that falls off of on plane and hits the wing of the other. just a small amount of the wing comes off but the plane goes quickly into an agressive role

  • Skilled Pilot!

  • Are the pictures real then? Amazing story!

  • the still pictures are... I'm not sure about the the live shots of the f-15.

the shots of the other aircraft were from a seperate event.

  • thats f ing crazy

  • Thank you for this video. It shows the training of the Israel military pilots. The US made fighter and the Lord watching over this country of Israel. Again, Thank you for posting this.

  • nobody likes israel especially not the lord

  • obvious troll is obvious

  • amazing, F15 is the best jetfighter ever!

  • Is not the only plane with this type of experience.

It is a movie about a MIG29 that lands without a large par of the wing. The "body" of a F15 is actualy a rocket with engines on both sides . The wings are part of portability but the wings are not the only ones that kept the plane in the air . The body and the engines body do the same thing as the wings. In this case the worst was the fact that the control parts from the wing dissapeared. The twice of speed was necesary to compensate the loss.

  • I go with you, the body of these planes is a large wing. So the real wings on the side are more to control the machine, and to allow extreme manouvres, than to give updraft. The central body acts as wing itself, giving huge updraft. The most critical thing was looing all controls AND the imbalance of updraft as the damage was one-sided, imbalanced.

But with more speed.... it works. Good machine, good pilots.

  • wow that's amazing

  • 15s got a tail hook?????

  • All U.S. built fighters have tail hooks, even the Air Force. Used for emergency landings. I spent 20 years in Naval Aviation and witnessed all sorts of arrested landings both at sea AND ashore.

  • I remember watching this episode on History, that was a freaking amazing story.

  • No cos the film crew weren't there waiting to film on the day when the accident happened so they made reconstructions.

  • this isn't not true flim.

  • what the pilot siad is actually true, no other aircraft can fly with the much surface taken out, the F-15 was different, take a look at the remaining wing, the surface is fairly large enough for it to land, but how do you roll or navigate the airplane with one of the two wing taken out

  • So not fake.

  • Correct. Most of clip comprises reconstruction footage (like you said, cameras aren't everywhere). The incident did take place though.

  • You say the clips are fake (which i think is obvious since there is no reason why there would be cameras everywhere right when an accident occurs) but the pictures at the end are actual photographs of the damaged F-15 right?

  • what ever the English wording, he is still one Hell of a pilot & he is ours.

  • Maybe if you're an English teacher but the majority of the English speaking world should understand this. Very finicky.

  • Yes I agree it's correct. If it was going to physically touch down on a wing the title would be 'f-15 crashes'

  • Tisk tisk Gigilo. The goal of language is to convey a meaning, not necessarily adhere with ultimate precision to the rules of grammar. "Landing on one wing" pretty much means the SAME THING as "landing with one wing" to most people - even though the grammar is imperfect. You must have had the same Catholic nuns I didl they were pretty severe about following all the 'rules' of language as opposed to common colloquial usage.

  • I disagree. The title implies that the plane landed on the wing vs on the landing gear. The proper description would be "F-15 lands with only one wing".

  • inproper english for title is should b f-15 land with 1 wing not on 1 wing sound like he landed on the wing

  • actually for flight terms, it is correct.

  • its correct english, go and look up dogs having sex or something

  • that's USA for you. tough plane. an i do believe it, you still have the aileron on the other side, less weight on the side the wing is missing, and elevator and rudder still work normal. if you use all those properly, it could still fly, though i don't know how long before you run out of fuel. and you have to be going fast, too.

  • made in the USA

    BABY

  • lol.

    lucky.

if he had hit the plane with the body of his jet rather than the wing, bye bye jew boy.

  • Ejection is a very dangerous procedure. If you think what's actually going on, it's amazing the human body deals with it as well as it does. And no I agree, though it is something I have never tried, it's definately not something I would consider to be fun.

  • ive heard the human body has a limit of ejections before you do severe internal damage.

  • Ejecting isnt all as fun as it may seem.

When your ejected from a fighter jet you must be fired from the cotpit quicker than the plane is going longwards.

This speed compresses your spine and you need to be stretched out on a bed for nearly a week.

Most pilots normally retire after 1 or 2 pre-ejections, without choice as it can/will be serious later in life.

I know this becuase of somone i work with trained to be a RAF fighter pilot but failed it and is now flying navy helicopters.

  • Think I would have left the aircraft sharpish!

  • That pilot must be quite skilled. EJECT is all I can say... :o)

  • Saw this video on the tv some time ago. I remember them trying to figure out how the aircraft stayed aloft and moreover controllable! A guy from McDonnell Douglas looked at the aircraft and immediately assessed that the damaged was caused by a taxiing accident. Believe the discussion which followed detailed the lifting body design of the aircraft enabling the pilot to maintain control once he recovered from the departure following the collision.

  • i've do this too

  • That is breath-taking!

  • Those pics are totally real! It's amazing that they flew and landed with only one wing! I am a pilot myself. All I have to say is DAMN!!!!!

  • sweet thats what you call a good pilot

  • Look. This was made in a COmputer program. This isn't actual footage of the collision, but the picture might be.

You should watch the show called "Dogfights" (planes fighting). It's really good.

  • fly the plain with 1 wing...

that is a very good joke

    :)))))

that is american style...fake story, fake videos, fake ideeas all put in a very serios documentary.

by the way...that 1 wing fly ...that is not possible

  • wtf??? it was an Israeli training mission, using an American plane. thats all america had to do with the story.... provide the plane.

stop being so ignorant and saying shit about American when we had nothing to do with it!!!

  • Fucking bad-ass aircraft right there.

  • Goes to show American engineering is awesome! I want one now! A-15 all the way! Hurray!

  • Awesome!! And by the way... This video IS NOT FAKE... In my personal opinion.

    Very good video. Congrats!!

  • Yeah, I'm gonna go with vihnu

  • yea i saw this in the paper a few years ago, it did actually happen, and yes the vids in the film are fake, they werent exactly expecting this to happen with all their high quality cameras set up were they...

  • my thoughts exactly big5824. of course they had to make the show... can't exactly "expect" someone to go up in the air and try to do that shit over just to make it real...
