  • LOL THIS GUY IS A FRAUD. you cannot gain 30 lbs of muscle in 100 days. never

  • You look like shit.

  • Gaining 30lbs =/= Gaining 30 lbs of muscle. 10lbs pure lean muscle (no fat, no water weight) COMPLETLY changes the way you look let alone 30lbs. Not to bring you down or anything, you look good but it's not 'muscle' its lean body weight.

  • If God wanted us to be vegan, he wouldn't have made animals so tasty.

  • @FireMonkeyX fucking retard, why dont you go suck jesus' cock, just imagine how much protein is in gods man juice

  • Saying you can gain 30lbs is a bit misleading. You went from looking like an austhwitz victim to an upper average body. Most will not gain that much

  • This guy is very inspiring, I have been vegan for 9 years and 4 months... never worked out, was a bit over weight. Videos like this inspired me to go to the gym and get healthy. With a little cardio and a small amount for weight lifting I have already gained a bit of muscle and most importantly lost 19 pounds in only 3 months. (6ft. 196 pounds to begin with now 178) Keep in mind i was barely trying. Watching what i ate and running and swimming a total of 5 or 6 hours a week. GO VEG!

  • i expect someone to come runing in and trip him the entire time.

  • hahaha! u can't even gain 30 lbs in 3 mos if u r roided out of your mind! this is the funniest shit ever!

  • Love the video - really inspiring! And to the negative people "People too weak to follow their own dreams, will always find a way to discourage yours" - and I am sure it is possible! I have actually gained muscle mass just by converting to veganism myself.. Protein from plants is way easier to absorb I am sure and you don't need much protein actually :)

  • How did you do it? what was the workout and what was the diet? Its quite unclear!

  • You can't put on 30 lb with out Beef and steriods. Stop fucking lying!

  • @beyourpotential Awesome work man, wonderful. I just came across your older videos and was delighted to see you put on the muscle here. I have a very similar build so this is inspiring. About the ego stuff, people are funny about this because they make having a big or small ego into an expression of egoism, as in they consider themselves to have "small egos" and mistake this for humility which is false and in tern results in succumbing to self-assumed Pride. Meher Baba gives some good talks..

  • The spider push up at beginning after the jump one looks pretty hardy man

  • Matthew loved the video, well done, very inspiring and great to see michael in there at the end... you look great, i'm sure you feel it! - Áine :-)

  • @AineKnees Thanks Aine. Glad you liked it! : ) Hit us up on skype sometime!

  • his guy will / is going far

  • LOL, the kitty is not impressed! ;)

  • I get it and I love the fact that there are people like you, Matthew who can push the limits to what is possible for the human body and mind to achieve! I still love and watch your vids. :)

  • @AnatomicalALIGNMENT Ron Paul 2012

  • I found the original picture that he used to fake his "after picture". It is all over various body building websites. YouTube won't let me post the link here, but do a Google Image Search for Secret-of-muscle-building.jpg and you will see it.

This guy has no credibility or integrity to speak of, don't listen to him.

  • @kelhado You crack me up! : D

  • @BeYourPotential I do not understand what you mean.

  • @BeYourPotential Why did you really fake this?? I checked at google image Secret-of-muscle-building.jpg and it is really the SAME picture as you are using... do not get it...?? Please explain Matthew.

  • @Kirschbaum1000 It's a joke. if English is not your first language it might be too subtle. My humorous side! : )

  • @BeYourPotential Thanks Matthew!! :) My first language is german! Your humorous side is awesome!! :) Got it :)

  • @kelhado

Her purposely said that was Photoshopped. Did you even watch or pay attention to this?

  • @runtor1988 I watched that part several times... I see now how he was meaning to portray it, however it is really awkward phrasing, saying it maybe be a stretch on your beliefs, but there's other stuff on the internet thats fake (seemingly in contrast with his picture)... anyway, I think it could be phrased more clearly, but I see what you mean now. Thanks for pointing that out. There are people out there trying to pull an easy scam.

  • @kelhado

Yeah, I thought that was weird how he phrased that too, but I think he didn't mean to say in contrast with that picture, but rather using that as an example as how most people tend to, as you say, pull an easy scam. The reason I'm sure he didn't mean it like you originally thought is because then showed video footage of his actual results. Sometimes it just takes another point of view to see a message clearly! :)

  • @kelhado are you serious? You really didn't get the purpose of the photo? Wow.

  • @CharlesWGraham You can read my conversation with runtor1988 for clarity on that. You can also notice the tact he used when helping me out.

  • @kelhado Yes, that was very generous of him considering the wording and judgment of your original post

  • You, full of ego? They must be kidding. Keep up the great work, Matthew. You are an inspiration.

  • Do you have your diet to achieve this muscle gain posted anywhere?

  • @OZCONTACTLENS Yes, go to my youtube channel and look at previous vids with nutrition in the title a couple of months ago.

  • soon you will be strong enough to go into Iraq!!

  • @2stunden No thanks, not interested in killing women and children for oil.

  • @SeasonViolet like popeye? lol theres no protein in spinach

  • @woo2fly21

I hope you're joking. Dark, leafy greens have a higher protein concentration, per ounce, than meat.

  • @runtor1988 so spinach has more protein than chicken breast per ounce?

  • @woo2fly21

That would be correct. Now obviously you have to take in account that a pound of chicken is far less in volume compared to a pound of spinach. It'd be hard to eat that much spinach. But the point is, it's there and it's easily accessible!

  • @woo2fly21

I'm sorry, per calorie*, not ounce.

  • @runtor1988 ok i didnt know that. It wouldnt be practical to use spinach as a significant protein source though i presume

  • Comment removed

  • i cant put on even 10 lbs of muscle in a year and i eat meat.

  • Comment removed

  • wooow! that's just PLAIN INSANE! :)) yeah! it IS inspiring! why does this only have ~2k views?

  • This is SO inspirational! Those are some intense exercises!!!

  • hey Mathew , do a video on how to planch !!!

  • @finpank When I become more proficient at it I will. Thanks.

  • Nice work, wow!

  • @SecretsOfLongevity LOL, we seem to watch all the same video.

  • How do you know how much body fat percentage you have?

  • @CBasie2856 I have some electronic calipers. I also know from experience as a personal trainer that different measuring devices will give different readings, so it is rarely exact, but generally within 15% of the stated reading.

  • Are you going to continue to gain muscle after this?

  • @CBasie2856 I am doing core strength training now and focusing more on my martial arts practice and flexibility and agility work.

  • ...heavy metals' and everything to do with fasting for 100 days! You are clearly extremely passionate and committed. But you clearly also don't mind being selective with the truth in order to make a grand statement. And maybe, just maybe when people give you constructive criticism it isn't just that you've challenged their old belief systems. Maybe there is sometimes some truth there!

  • Venice and happy valley are right. No one can knock your spirit and strength of commitment and resolve. You definitely bend the truth to make your points. A more accurate trill would be 'how to lose loads of weight through fasting and then add 30lbs of unspecified weight back in 100 days.' adding 30lbs had nothing to do with detoxing 'chemicals andmetals.

  • Matthew, you are awesome!!! Thanks so much for spreading love for all LIFE and representing human potential!!! ;)

  • I agree with venicestu. the title is less than honest. gaining weight after fasting is much different than putting on thirty pounds of mass through diet and strength training. in fact, this is the complete opposite of bodybuilding. I applaud your work ethic, but this really doesn't add to the credibility of veganism.

  • @thehappyvalley413 Bodybuilding as it stands is one of the unhealthiest sports in the world. A close friend of mine died last year at the age of 33 through his bodybuilding antics. I am being completely honest and am promoting cruelty free, healthy bodybuilding. This is the way it should be done for the maximum health and well-being of ourselves, the animals and the planet.

  • To be fair, you were not completely forth coming in this video. You just completed a 100 day juice feast where you withered away to skin and bones, tearing down muscle tissue, then started a 30lb/100 day muscle building program. It would be much easier to build muscle when you have just finished eliminating some. You of all people should not be stretching the truth if your on a mission.

  • @venicestu Watch the video again. Towards the end I explain that for best and healthiest results you need to be completely cleansed. Many people try and build on a raw vegan diet when their body is still trying to detox years of poor food choices, chemicals and heavy metals, which doesn't work very well because they are going against the grain. I have over 100 videos up last year of me fasting and juice cleansing. That is part of it, I am not trying to hide it.

  • awesome video, thanks! Do you meditate, do yoga, or any contemplative routines?

  • @mikedowd66 Yes, all of the above. I show quite a bit of yoga on my juice feast videos. Thanks.

  • I think you have a very nice personality, indeed! Keep shining on...

  • Is it possible to do a 50 day juice fast just on orange juice?

  • @CBasie2856 Sure it is. I know someone who ate only oranges for more than 50 days. Although I am not sure why you would want to do only orange juice?

  • @BeYourPotential

oranges are cheap this time of year. I only pay 10 bucks a day with card for 32 oranges.

  • Holy shit!

That juice fast really did a number on you.

  • you look awesome! a picture of great health! thank you for sharing what

is so very possible.. people with negative comments are just jealous and

would love to have your build..

  • Keep up the inspiring work you do! Amazing before and after pictures. The reference to the gay porn pose was hilarious. Made my day!

  • Thank you!! very inspiring. I told a couple people at work that I was planning to build some muscle on a vegan diet for the next year. They both asked "Where are you going to get your protien?". Also, one of them said that my bones and cartilage will become weak and brittle. Ha Ha. I will show them this video. Thanks.

  • Lovely and funny...

  • Even if you've gained 30lbs, which is possible, it's most certainly not ALL muscle.

Those gains are comprised of muscle, fat, water and carbohydrate... All of these things come with muscle growth.

Proper hydrostatic weighing before and after would show what you REALLY gained in lean mass, which by any realistic calculation would be about 6 to 8 lbs.

  • The person before was rude, but accurate. The best bodybuilders in the world who train for hours a day at best will only gain 10 pounds of "muscle" a year. You gain weight but it isn't all muscle mass, a lot of it is carbs, not fat like the other person mentions. If you go into one of those water tanks and have your body mass index measured you will also realize this. It's not possible for the human body to gain beyond 10 pounds of pure muscle annually.

  • Would be interested to find out what your diet was for those 100 days.I will be doing my own cleanse for about a month and then will be stgarting up my fitness regime .Want to build muscle the right way. thanks for the vids, much appreciated

  • @lightneasy1 I show it in my vegan nutrition video put up about 6 weeks ago.

  • Super bad ass loved the bricks. You should link this to the RawBrahs.

  • You should post this on veganbodybuilding*com people there would appreciate this. Oh and I was totally confused thinking that you were trying to slip a photoshopped pic by us, LOL.

  • Your "after" pic was obviously photoshopped... I don't understand why you would lie about that man, the truth is good enough.

  • Thanks again! Really inspiring stuff although Im looking for explosivity and athletisism rather than mass. Still; what are you doing for recovery? Please don't say ice baths and foam rollers. That stuff hurts and sucks emensly :-)

  • Really interesting stuff. I bought a juicer to go with my blender. Already was vegan. Mostly dates bananas and oats to be honest..:-) figured ill kick it up a notch diet-wize. I

  • do you feel better before or after?

  • I cannot work out because I don't have these specific bricks

  • @SoRusted 25 euro each on my website, use the code word excercise bricks for a 1% discount!!!! There selling real fast so get there quick! I also sell the underpants he is wearing, yes that specific one!!! No discount on that though

  • Great workout. The best thing about you is being natural

  • great stuff, thank you! :) subscribed.

  • Matthew - you made a great point about the "4min mile".. and the power of belief .. you are amazing!! but do you think that such a gain is possible without the cleansing work you did

  • You guys are so amazing and inspiring! Thanks for the vids! I was born with cerebral palsy and mild Aspberger's and the raw vegan diet has done wonders! I'm now a personal trainer and bodybuilder and have been vegan for 3 months! Blessings!

  • So cute, it is your cat?

  • @MissRawSweden Yes, thanks, and we are His. : )

  • Awsome, Really great work Matthew!

    Have a amazing day.

  • Great work Matt.

The people complaining about your ego, they are the ones with Ego issues. If you are in control of your ego, you would never point it out in another.

  • 8:24 Totally Photoshopped your head on somebody's body. Very funny. Buy the way there is no way you can put on 30 pounds of "MUSCLE" in 100 days. Most of your gain was "FAT". You went from skin and bones to a slight amount of fat on your carcass. Your credibility is in the toilet with these bogus statements. You would make a great used car salesman or politician though.

  • @dinos98 I guess my strength more than doubled with just gaining fat then! ; )

  • @BeYourPotential I didn't say anything about your strength. Sure you are going to gain some strength when you work out. I was talking about your PhotoShopped picture with your head on a different body and that most of your weight gain was fat not muscle.

  • @dinos98 Did you even pay attention to the video? He said that the first before/after pics were photoshopped. It's called HUMOR!

  • @BeYourPotential great comeback :)

  • @dinos98 lol, let's see your lifting vids bro. how's your physique compared to Matthew's?

  • @RawFoodFreedom Well I don't have any vids bro, but I could show you some Photoshopped pic it you would like to see thoughts bro!

  • @dinos98 haha. touché. however, Matthew did have legit after footage after the photoshop joke. It's a lot easier to be a youtube hater than it is to actually produce something of value, as Matthew has done. I certainly don't know any women who would complain about his physique, either, and isn't that all we care about as men?

  • @RawFoodFreedom I'm no hater, just stating the fact. Also didn't say that he wasn't is good shape, he is in very good shape. I said that there is no way that he put on 30lbs of pure muscle in 100 days. As for getting fit for the women, that all you young buck think about but when you get to be an old fart you do it for your own health & fitness mainly.

  • @dinos98 Just go ahead and post us your video of doing a handstand pushup and we'll take your viewpoint more seriously.

  • Great vid Matt!! Enjoyed watching your progress!

  • Oh to be young and injury-free!

  • @auggiedoggy I healed up all my injuries and worn out joints through juice and water fasting. 10 years ago I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without my knees buckling. I would get stomach cramps from all the painkillers and anti inflammatory's I was on. Everything is reversible to a degree. I get younger, fitter and stronger every day from my lifestyle choices and mind set.

  • @BeYourPotential : I have tendonitis in the right shoulder which severely restricts what I can do with my right arm, a herniated L5-S1 vertebral disc and possible arthritis in my right knee. So I'm a real mess! Payback from my younger, athletic days. Currently getting physio on the shoulder but its a slow process.

  • @BeYourPotential Really incredible work! What are you planning to do next?

  • Great Video!

  • hey man how old are you and your wife???nice gains by the way

  • @RelaxMF Matthew is 35 and I am 30. :-)

  • awesome!

  • nice workout! i see you gained sice ! peace

  • you're the dude Matthew - what an inspiration!

  • Most people are under the belief that the main motivation to do things is to be better than others. Which is wrong to think and wrong to accuse.

  • hah :) "people love to hold onto their belief SO much...." - i hope u are not one of these people, and holding on to the idea i was looking for an argument with u, putting down your website, or anything negatively construed like that bro..! lol.. im happy n smiling here - i hope u can let go of that stuff and feel a true open friendship and friendliness again :~) peace be with u. love u Mathew & those pics are WOWZers!! u certainly showed them mate!! :)

  • @0wenfox Hi Owen, I am quite overwhelmed with the amount of emails I receive these days and don't have time to respond to them all. In my last email to you I said that there was no hard feelings and I wished you well, and I really do! Peace.

  • @BeYourPotential sure thing Matthew no worries. thats nice to hear :) when u said i might want to ask myself a question, but tell u because ur not interested, i thought that telling a friend not to tell u something because ur not interested, didnt sound truly* friendly, like u liked or were interested in me. id never say that to someone i liked and loved, like a friend or my mom etc. but im truly glad if there is no hard feelings & u know i didnt mean things the way u thought.

  • i think its fair that you did an extra 15 days to give an accurate representation of what's possible, considering all your challenges Matthew. and thanks and good on you for your honesty :)

  • what were your meals like?

  • @zjaz10 Check out the earlier nutrition video put up a month or two ago. I show a days eating in that.

  • Pure inspiration! Thanks. :)

  • @beyour potential and they said i cant run the half marathon being vegan and i did and now they say i cant do the full lolol cant please people !!!

  • @beyourpotential dont let them get to you and i know you wont but they are the people who want to get where your at and do trust their potential ! and your advice with the running did me well thanks bro !

  • Hey Man. Love your vids. Could you post a meal plan showing the sort of food you were eating on the 100 day challenge?

  • Now i can say without any doubt that you are a kind of superman!! O.O Great!! You are my reference point!!

  • what do u eat post workout?

  • Very impressive - whilst I'm sure muscle memory might have played a part, you certainly gained way more than most people assume is possible - hard work/belief certainly pays off

  • @34 seconds..epic! - good video - great series of video's - brillant message - :) - im glad your lass was laughing, too!! :D - funny video!!

  • Lol when I first saw that photoshop job I was like WTF!!! FAKE!!!

  • wow man thats awesome, keep it up and change the stereotype!

  • thats so cool! Good job man! Great video! i am 5'9 and started at 110 pounds 3 years ago and started working out, i am now 140 pounds and i am on a diet to get to 155, thats my goal. thanks for the inspiration! u rock!

  • I want to do something similar Matthew, can I get your diet for building?

  • Wow impressive.

  • usually muscle growth is 1.5 pounds per month even on a meat diet.

  • @LostInThought11 what do you mean "even"?

  • @LostInThought11 wait, so does the mean that you could do 18 pounds per year, and then in 10 year of dedication you would gain 180 pounds of mucle?
