  • They had a lot of great songs...why don't I ever hear them on the radio anymore?? This song kicks ass!!

  • Amazing song!

  • This song reminds me of Revolution by Judas Priest A LOT.

  • Trane.

  • They make you sign-in/verify your age because of so called "age-restricted" content, but they show you the album cover while you do it, which is the only "adult" content...the song itself has nothing to do with it. Censorship sucks, but failed censorship is just LOL.

    Jane's!

  • @Hazeon23 or it could be because dave uses a vibrator for the guitar solo lol

  • The intro is same as Revolution by Judas priest o_O

  • JAY MOHR!

  • there was a clip for this and it was fckng good anyone know where i can get that sht??

  • @ufi123 it was on a short vhs video they did called "Soul Kiss" that came out in the late '80's. The whole thing had different clips and was about 15 min long. It can be found on Amazon or eBay...and while your at it get "Gift". That is a killer Jane's movie.I've got mine...good luck.

  • Conventional wisdom has Rituel ... to be the best JA record. What a lot of cock. For this song alone it knocks Been Caught Stealing into its granny's hat. ( which Farrell seems to wear quite a lot ). Awesome riff.

  • @greymalkin100 I always preferred Nothing's Shocking to Ritual, can't be compared

  • @greymalkin100 Really, ya think?

I just would assume that Ritual was more radio friendly, i.e., more airplay=more albums sold. I think that Nothing's shocking brought the origional core fans, while Ritual got them the spenders.

  • @richpeek13 I guess I'm just a bit "loved 'em & THEN they got famous" haha - but, yeah Ritual got the bucks, but still ... it just doesn't rattle the same bars for me at least.

  • @greymalkin100 for sure, could not agree more. nothing's shocking was and always will be my favorite album they ever did. Edgy, heavy, loud and hard.

  • Me rekuerda a getting up

  • riff sounds like readymade from red hot chili peppers

  • @MrDomguitar However Mountain Song was recorded in 1988. That said the Red Hot Chili Peppers have always expressed their admiration for Jane's Addiction, so they must have been inspired by them.

  • @lyonslaforet yeah dave navarro was for four years the guitarist of rhcp

  • @lyonslaforet RHCP wasn't really inspired by them so much as they were both 2 of the really big local LA bands during the mid to late eighties. At various times Dave played for the peppers and Flea as well played with Janes for a short time.

  • Those 8 Dislikes Must've Been those Ex- That Were On The News.

  • fuck yea... i really love this song!!!

  • WOW did Judas Priest rip this song off.

  • @SuicideNation what song? just wonderin

  • @DougieFwesh "Revolution" off the Angel of Retribution album.

  • This song is SO good. D':

  • This song reminds me of Marc Eckos Getting Up.

  • @cubancheese ME TOO

  • Swamp Thing by The Chameleons.

  • @headHunter241 Been a fan of the Chameleons for years and never noticed that before. Well spotted.

  • hey this is great no cover will be better but sepultura did a good job

  • The idea of songs resembling other older songs is natural. Every artist has to have his inspiration and musical root in other artists work. So, if they may borrow a lick or a riff, it can be done unconciously. We can't really speak of plagiarism. It's like the Cigs and Alcohol by Oasis versus Get it on by T. Rex . It may have the same intro, but it isn't quite the same musical idea...

  • Boobies :D

  • 8 people didn't cash in. poor

  • GIGGS!!!

  • One of the finest rock tracks ever recorded.

  • The song sounds ALOT like Readymade by Chili Peppers.

  • @TheHattkals the bass line does and mountain song was made first

  • @megadeth9000 Yeah, I know. Isn't this song from the 80's? I usually don't listen to Jane's Addiction

  • @TheHattkals yea im not sure exactly when i just know late 80's

  • @TheHattkals Wow how interesting.. considering the fact this song was released at least 15 years earlier dumbass!!

  • @jrock3815

This song being released first doesn't stop the songs from sounding like each other, dumbass.

  • @TheHattkals There are a lot of RHCP songs that sound like older songs, like the whole Dani California thing (Sounds like Mary Jane's Last Dance) that people pointed out a long time ago.

  • Love this track and the album - good diversity and original - way back in '88!

  • I rode my bmx down a mountain for the first time today and this song was all I could think about.

  • There's an alternate version of this song (because honestly, I don't like this one. I heard it off of one of the Rockbands) that I can't seem to find. It's got different lyrics, and the lead singer sings in a different tone. It's a bit deeper. Anyone hears of it, let me know please.

  • @MarioFan82 You best be trolling bro

  • @Bill6650 go back to /b/, summerfag.

  • @cky12qxz What son?

  • This song makes me want to blow up a anti US terrorist's shit and walk away in slo mo!

  • most devastating Dave Navarro riff. so simple too.

  • What a awesome band. Great rock and roll

  • Flea copies the bass riff in Readymade, it's just a little bit more complicated there

  • Ready Made? RHCP =)

  • @BetinSkateForEver hmmm does have a similar sound

  • Are those two couple of boobs the reason that this video may include adult material??

  • @Crasnapolsky Probably. This country is so damn puritanical. It's OK to see some guy get his head blown off on TV but god forbid you show a nipple.

  • @SOADSfetus

that cover did get banned at lame-o places like wall-mart back in the day

-a dude who saw JA in 88 with a half crowd before Perry was a neo-con...when he still passed around the wine bottle...

  • @scotscar I saw him pass it around at Coachella last year.

  • @SOADSfetus This cover was done back in the 80's, when politically correct didn't exist yet.

  • @SOADSfetus Walmart probly didn't carry it or had an alternate cover.

  • The song make me remember Marc Ecko's Getting Up :(

  • How retarded... I had to sign in to watch this video, when you could clearly see the boobs from the video search results anyway...

    Anyway, awesome song.

  • @57Royston I was wondering why I had to sign up... We see breasts all the time - how pathetic.

  • Damn,this sounds kinda modern,for an 80's song.

  • Jane Addiction was coming down the mountain. And we all had fun.

  • Coming down the Mountain!!

  • COMIN DOWN THE MOUNTAAAIIIN.

  • I FINALLY mastered this on Expert drums in Rockband 2 :P

  • @karatemom1997 pretty gay dude why dont you learn a real instrument rather than some gay plastic thing youll find it a lot more satisfying...just a thought

  • @rdunkdatpi I do. Learning actual fills, flams, all that. Just saying, it's a little tough when your stuck to playing a game with one kick bass and four colored plastic circles, rather than an actual set with a snare, three toms, kickbass, and a couple of symbols. I only play it to kill boredom, and play with my friends online. Don't take it so seriously...

  • @karatemom1997 pretty gay dude why dont you learn a real instrument rather than some gay plastic thing youll find it a lot more satisfying...just a thought

  • @rdunkdatpi fair doos that you can play drums but i just dont see how anyone could smack some stupid plastic toy after getting a taste a real kit buts thats just me i guess

  • Comment removed

  • @rdunkdatpi man, you don't know shit so why don't you take your dildo and go play with yourself

  • @kilosofhair well i would think playin with pieces of plastic is your area of expertise

  • i love the guitar but i hate the singing

  • marc Ecko's: Getting up. I will remember this game for ever!!! feelings!!! :')

  • Does anyone notice similarities with RHCP´s Readymade?

  • This song is totally tribal emo.

  • @bornandbred24 this song is totally bad ass rock n roll

  • Comment removed

  • @roseblackcadillac I do not agree that this song is rock n roll. However, it is totally badass in its own right. I wasn't making a negative comment.

  • @bornandbred24 dude...Saying Jane's was not rock n roll is like sayin Waylon wasn't country

  • @roseblackcadillac Dude, call it what you want I guess. The music vibe I'm thinking of is more about sticking it to the man/standing up for whats right. Thats what I call rock 'n' roll. Its not meant to be poetic, emotional, dark, alternative. This vibe is just that. Read the lyrics. Their f'd up. I think two ladies died that were really close to Perry or something.

  • AMAZING BAND, AMAZING SONG, A BAND VERY DIFFERENT FROM ALL

  • FUCKING GREAT

  • This song gets me pumped up.

  • christ when i first heard this album with the rubber cover it was wonderful on the number 62 bus into brum to meet my now wife if that makes sense.

  • Yeah this is one band you shouldn't pigeonhole. The only constant lyrical theme is compassion mixed with anger coming from Perry's soul and musically they are all over the place.

  • when you make music like they did you dont worry about pinning a label on what they do because they incorporate so many different styles. when they put out this album the skaters loved them, the rockers, anybody who heard them loved them. few bands can penetrate so many different market segments. Saw them perform this song live twice and they had me a loyal fan for life. silly to attempt to tray and pin them on some label that barely describes their sound

  • Lots of horrible fail in these comments. God folks. This is Jane's Addiction.

  • Who gives a fuck about 'style' why do people always have to pidgeon hole bands, like it makes a fucking difference! they are a bunch o dudes with guitars, drums and a bass and they ROCK!!!! end of fucking story.

    Fucking snobs!

  • Ever seen a pitbull fly a kite?

  • o yeaah the grunge

  • best song ever

  • cash in miss smith:D
