I remember the old days, the endless days killing cows and chickens, then getting members for the first time, it was great. Then the updates.... I quit Rs last year after all the updates.... I hate it now, It was 100,000,000% better in 2006

What's the point in RS2006? I got an account on it, I'm a fucking veteran on it for fucks sake. You can't rediscover RuneScape, you just have to play on with it and live with your memories.

Law Runes There was Tutorial Island If you had a SINGLE piece of Dragon you did good in the game Experiments was always filled There were only 12 f2p quests No wildy trench Dragon Axe > Abyssal Whip The Highest Prayer was Protect From Melee The Highest Level was 728(?) and you had to face him alone Highlevel Alchemy + yew longbows

@Slendertouch Yes, I've played off and on for the last 4 years. The only thing I hear from people who prefer the "old" RS is nostalgic biased comments like "I miss the old graphics, I hate clans, HD is stupid, I miss tutorial island, I miss the old login screen, I remember when I use to blahblahblah with my old character, on and on and on. All you have to do is read the last few pages of comments. It's like a lot of the Pokemon fanbase, myself included in that one. Pure nostalgia.
@TheNintendoDuck Well I have no problem with HD and clans, thats not what we are all missing. We miss this all because Runescape is failing dramatically, more bots, more marketing, more RWT then ever before. The Runescape was more simple, and that is what we missed. The community now is filled with really ignorant people and greedy ones, Dicing, Luring, everything. We just want it to go back a few years, where almost everyone would agree, you would have more fun.

@neverknownable How could you not love the original startup, it was two torches changing color....Well, it wasn't that great, but not having it now makes it a little depressing. Oh, and does anyone else completely abhor the new tutorial? Tutorial Island was the best.
@ICECOWStarcraft Yeah jagex changed stuff that really didn't need changing. I prefered the old skeleton and guard (dude in armor) then the original log in screen that changed backgrounds and flames with special events. :D Good times.

Yeah, the old website layout and I loved the world selection even though the newer version of world selections are more convenient I just preferred the original list where you'd have to refresh to update the world populations

@SilentScimitar I wouldn't go quite as far as saying it sucks, but I agree it is much worse than the original. This version drones on too long with the same melody; and they clearly ran out of ideas after 3 minutes, so then they changed the time signature, which just sounds a bit odd. Also sometimes the accompaniment doesn't go with the melody properly. The original song is much nicer to listen to, I actually prefer the sounds in it, and it finishes where it should. That's my view
The free trade messed up the economy of runescape when it was republished. Bad. So what was 2k 2 or more years ago is now 500gp. And the wild isn't being used ever. So damn u pros who wanted thoose back and just doing nothing with them. Except make it harder on others who actually play.

it was a hard game, you had goals, these days you can only train and train... and train...... dont even bother training smithing runecrafting crafting, its all worthless you wont get any money for what you do
Haha, my friend had introduced me to this game in 2004. It was an astonishing game regardless of how the graphics looked. My older brother was usually criticizing the game for that reason. It had a certain rarity and variety about that that had kept me playing for seven years.
I remembered when i played runescape i would just walk around and explore because i was so new to it and the world was huge! And when i became a member it was just massive! I couldn't stop exploring! I still love to travel around runescape. :)
i started playing just before 2007, and i can say Jagex has been at the best "laid back" i quit playing about the time they made the newest skill, and all this time they never bothered to improve and change whats important - things that makes the gameplay fun - like combat, training and levelling up. yeah they screw around a bit with graphics (which are still crap) and the same old things that dont matter to the game.
still its a shame cos it used to be a nice game - now they milk it for cash
I remember when I was woodcutting, talking to other woodcutters. One of them asked me what music I like to listen to. I thought he was talking about the runescape soundtrack, so I started naming a few off of the list including this one. I wasn't aware he meant like, y'know, Linkin Park kinda stuff.
Wow this tune brings me back to my childhood. The times when Runescape was magical and you were clueless of where you were or what you were doing that's what was special. Killing chickens for their feathers and selling them to the general store untill eventually you could save up for an iron axe cutting logs, now that's the true Runescape I remember. The beuty of the pixelated graphics was no problem for us, as kids. Thanks Jagex for the memories !

In comparison they were terrible..
It's not like a graphical upgrade is what made RS lame.
Myself I miss 2007 because I was a 12 year old playing Runescape with my friends on the phone having fun questing or pking on a level 13 thinking I was the shit.

Yeah, the old website layout and I loved the world selection even though the newer version of world selections are more convenient I just preferred the original list where you'd have to refresh to update the world populations

@SilentScimitar I wouldn't go quite as far as saying it sucks, but I agree it is much worse than the original. This version drones on too long with the same melody; and they clearly ran out of ideas after 3 minutes, so then they changed the time signature, which just sounds a bit odd. Also sometimes the accompaniment doesn't go with the melody properly. The original song is much nicer to listen to, I actually prefer the sounds in it, and it finishes where it should. That's my view

The free trade messed up the economy of runescape when it was republished. Bad. So what was 2k 2 or more years ago is now 500gp. And the wild isn't being used ever. So damn u pros who wanted thoose back and just doing nothing with them. Except make it harder on others who actually play.

even rs now got old wildy back but the fun is not same as 3 yrs ago :( and many of my friends quits rs now, btw many people in rs not are very selfish showing of their wealthness..
and runetimon, the problem why GE update is come because the unlimited trade has gone, but now the prob is both have..., now have old wildy, try go there with full dangerous in wildy world 64 i think :D

i remember walking around kiling goblins to buy that bronze scimitar, it was so much fun, the new rs is just
kill 4 goblins, walk to ge sell bones, buy full iron.
no fun anymore from than on you just have to train, there is no stuff anymore to get, everything is ge now, GE HAS to go away it sucks balls and it completely ruins the real feeling of being in a world where you have to kill goblins to survive ^^

@runetimon I agree, GE and the removal of the wildy really fucked rs up and made it boring and gave it less of survival aspect. And now even with the wildy back it's just not the same, I quit playing around a year ago because I got tired of how easy the game is these days.

it was a hard game, you had goals, these days you can only train and train... and train...... dont even bother training smithing runecrafting crafting, its all worthless you wont get any money for what you do

Haha, my friend had introduced me to this game in 2004. It was an astonishing game regardless of how the graphics looked. My older brother was usually criticizing the game for that reason. It had a certain rarity and variety about that that had kept me playing for seven years.

i started playing just before 2007, and i can say Jagex has been at the best "laid back" i quit playing about the time they made the newest skill, and all this time they never bothered to improve and change whats important - things that makes the gameplay fun - like combat, training and levelling up. yeah they screw around a bit with graphics (which are still crap) and the same old things that dont matter to the game.
still its a shame cos it used to be a nice game - now they milk it for cash

I remember when I was woodcutting, talking to other woodcutters. One of them asked me what music I like to listen to. I thought he was talking about the runescape soundtrack, so I started naming a few off of the list including this one. I wasn't aware he meant like, y'know, Linkin Park kinda stuff.

Wow this tune brings me back to my childhood. The times when Runescape was magical and you were clueless of where you were or what you were doing that's what was special. Killing chickens for their feathers and selling them to the general store untill eventually you could save up for an iron axe cutting logs, now that's the true Runescape I remember. The beuty of the pixelated graphics was no problem for us, as kids. Thanks Jagex for the memories !
