Heavens to Murgatroid! What a joy to finally be able to all of this 50's drama again. I had seen it a few times in the 70's & 80's on local TV but not since. As I recall it's got a perceptive script & a powerhouse cast. THANKS for posting! You have MADE my day & my week! CHEERS! :-)
Excellent film. Very low key and understated. Cooper's performance reflects that. Suzy Parker and Diane Varsi were great. Neither one went on to do much in the movies, which is our loss. Cooper passed away not long after this one. It was either his last or next to last.
I second that emotion! I've always remembered this movie with fondness after seeing it years ago on local TV. Suzy Parker & Diane Varsi are indeed great in this; it's a shame their acting careers winded down as the 50's winded down. It' indeed our loss. THANKS for your insightful, thoughtful & perceptive comment!
@PeterFirthFan Possibly a bit wooden, but compared to Randolf Scott he's on Methadrine. No proffesional actor is as WOODEN as Randy(I like boys) Scott.
This movie is sooo great. Gary is in top form, Diana Varsi is excellent (we should have had more of her, what a fine actress) and Stuart Whitman is young, gorgeous and sexy sigh. Thank you..

Correction to last post. Cooper went on to make 6 more movies. My memory fails me. I was thinking he passed away in 1959.

I bought a video of this movie on e-Bay. I don't think this movie is available on DVD, which is why I posted it on YouTube.
