  • Nicely done!!!!

  • I really like this version a lot. I'm so used to hearing this nice melody on some trebly instrument, high and tinny sounding. Nice switch up!

  • damn, how much did that thing cost?

  • @HaZeEurope91 usually around $250 to $400

  • @Gossipnastar Ummmm. 250 to 400 for a crappy low quality made indian/chinese one. What he was playing looked similar to a Yamaha euphonium I have seen. A good quality euphonium is usually around 1500 to 2000

  • @buckethead396 Yes, that one does look like a Yamaha Yep-321 to me. I think they're around 1,800 brand new. Most quality professional euphoniums are around 4-8 thousand or so.

  • @Pyrotiksilence I think it's actually a King euphonium. I'd have to see the 3rd valve tuning slide to be sure though.

  • I am a euph player. You have done a beautiful job. I love to see you actually using that 4th valve!

  • to bad i can play one

  • I love you.

  • Hello fellow Baritone player!

  • Its the same as 3 valves. It's just for like intonation stuff. Same fingerings but 4th valve is the same as 1 & 3 cause it's like math sorta (2+3=4+1)

  • Why does your baritone have 4 valves- I thought they were only supposed to have 3? And this was amazing!

  • My baritone only has 3 valves. Is there a difference between the two? It's probably because it's a school baritone for band. And beautiful, even if I was unbiased, this is the most beautiful rendition I've heard.

  • what went through my mind

    (1) what 4 buttons

    (2) whoa looks relay expensive

    (3) i want to break it

  • very smootha nd wonderful

-Ryan (Gr.6 bari horn player first year :P

  • the only instrument more beautiful than the baritone horn

    - Christian (Gr. 10, bari player for 6 years)

  • I cried

  • i loooove it! x3

  • im a trombonist. i do play euphonium but even as a trombonist i can say euphonium has the best tone of every instrument.

  • Can't get a bettersound than a euphonium when harmonizing. French Horn MAYBE!! But a euphonium is still a boss.

  • Dude, those harmonies add so much, its so warm and comforting! LOVE IT!

  • What a stupid instrument....

  • @RiffRaff993 Don't like it? Don't watch it. Simple as that.

  • @MechaMuffin1 lol i play it in the marching band at my school. Im just joking.

  • @RiffRaff993 Ah. Sorry ^^; I've been playing Euphonium for about 9 years now, I get a little defensive sometimes when people call it useless and stupid. you know?

  • thats a strange instrument, ive never heard of it. interesting.

  • Very pretty

  • well im in third year band now, and im still envious of that sound you have! (im gettin there)

  • LOL this is fake your not playing haha i can see your embouchure is not moving properly nice try fake.

  • That is insanely beautiful. I was bracing myself for a harsh brass sound at the look of the instrument, remembering 8th grade tuba players when I was in band-- but this is like a dream, like I'm floating in a balloon through the night sky...

  • You play beautifully .

    4 Valves. eek . haha, I play a 3 .

  • ive been in band 2 years (going to 3rd next year) on this instrument and it always amazes me how the euphionium can have such a calming sound.....anyways u did awesome 5 stars

  • Amazing......

  • I feel like this musician is my soulmate <3. haha. this year I started playing the btone and I love it (not as much as my flute and piano though). how could I transpose this to a 3 valve baritone?

  • I love the echoing effect in this song

  • lol i want to play something like this but im on my 2nd year of baritone/euphonium lol aint that good amazing 5 stars

  • oh how I want my euphonium back!!! UGH

  • lol a eupho same as a tuba thats like saying a french horn is the same as a cornet

  • pelate mamona

  • ok people i know a Euphonium is not a tuba

  • hey would you mind tellin me what bore size this euph is

  • it looks (and sounds) like a large bore

  • My only complaint is that the song isn't longer.

  • 4 valved isn't too hard. you do need some strong finger muscles for it though. another variation is to have rotors instead of the valves. it makes it easier to use but harder to maintain. =T

  • @HSLDT A much better Euphonium with all the valve all together is having the 1st 2nd and 3rd where they are normally and one on the right side played with your left index finger it is much easier to play and it is a better tone

  • a tuba is not a euphonium

    tuba= 1 octave below euphonium

    it is also much larger

  • @Lucariopalka You have been misinformed because a Euphonium is NOT a tuba a Euphonium is essentially a trombone that looks like a miniature tuba and he is using 4th valve instead of his 1st and 3rd valve because you get better tone doing that

  • no, a euphonium shares nothing in common with a trombone other than being built in the same key.

  • @biggreenblob actually the fact they are in the same key is a very large thing to have in common. I had never played euphonium in my life but I had played trombone and without having any help I was able to pick up music and fingerings in minutes.

  • @Lucariopalka A tuba is not a euphonium. The fingering is different, as is the common octave (the comfortable range.)

  • @ Lucariopalka

The 4th valve is the same as 1-2, and I'd really like to know who told you a tuba and a euph are one in the same, because thats horribly wrong...

  • My bad, 1-3

  • it truely is a beautiful instrument

    -Patrick (gr.12 eupho.player)

  • I'm interested to see if it will make it's way into the orchestra sometime soon.

  • sadly, it's not that euphoniums aren't allowed in orchestras, its just that ALOT of the songs were made without euphonium parts T_T

  • Well unfortunately the instrument wasn't around when most of the repertoire was written. I suppose that in the future it will have a fair chance with modern composers writing parts for it more often.

  • well I dont see that many modern composers diviating from the standard set of instruments, but mabie i hope.

  • you're not looking very well then...

  • @gogos1234567890 i agree with you! i absolutely love this instrument.. especially marching hahaha

    - Ronnie (gr. 12 eupho. player)

  • beautiful.....^_^

  • His horn looks really shiny and new. xD What model and make is it? o.o

  • yamaha yep 321

  • Ahhhh I havn't practiced my euphonium either my band directer is gonna freak

    XD

  • i know ):

  • he is he has him recorded over every single layer

  • yes he is

    Idiot.

    He recoreded it multiple times.

  • i think it's just the camera...the lighting is weird that's all

  • Is it just me, or is this guy really fucking ugly in this vid?

  • its nice to see someone use their forth valve :) great job

  • i havent played euphonium all summer!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • excellent

  • Tbh thats really good for that instrument

  • Nice playing! I really like your tone. Is that a reverb effect you added in? It sounds great.

  • NICE!

  • Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Job well done.

  • i think i love u it so.. beautiful 1000/5

  • That was so nastalgiac. I think thats how you spell it. It brought tears to my eyes because of all the memories pumbling me at once. Great job! 5/5

  • Wow... that was wonderful. The euphonium has such an awesome sound and is just perfect for this tune. It makes me wonder why it isn't used more often in music.

Your playing sounded great too. Very mellow and smooth. Did you add any chorus effects when you recorded it?

  • beautiful

  • Great!

  • so gorgeous.

  • Spectacular job mate. I'm a die hard Sheik lover and I have never heard a good remake of the original song. Usually it's always on piano, etc.

    But this sounds beast.

  • nice name and playin

    euphoniumhumper:)

  • The parts are a little out of time at times but it creates a nice echo effect.

you have an amazing tone and this is a great video

  • its like that on pourpose

  • wow you got all the chords by ear? thats very hard to do good job!

  • Why does everyone always say this? I do it all the time. It's not hard at all.

  • Beautiful.

  • eh, it sounds to big and grandiose to fit the original nature of the music in my opinion.

still sounds nice, just doesn't seem to really fit.

  • Lucky... My fourth valve sticks so badly. D; and I cna't seem to fix it!! Stupid pistons always in need of oiling... I want rotary valves!

  • did u try opening the valve, and cleaning it out? then oiling it and putting it back in?

  • When was the last time you lubed it?

  • lube is a funny word

  • Sounds heavenly :]

  • Euphonium FTW. Ive been first chair euphonium at my school for the past 2 years in a row. this will be my third consecutive run at it.

  • ok seriously, who cares!?!?

  • haha :)

  • @divazur fuck you

  • No. You're wrong. I'm a euphist and the 4th valve is used for first and third.

  • actually im pretty sure the fourth valve is used only with a low D and E because naurally its not in tune but if you press it along with 1 and 3 or 1 and 2 it will be in perfect tune and youll hear the difference. thats with the valve on the side im not sure if its different when its on the top but its the sam as trumpet. not to mention you need the fourth valve to go lower than a low G which starts going into tuba range. :D

  • do you have a compensating valve or noncompensating? Because I have a noncompensating and it can do the same things and more. and actually you and euphguy19 are wrong the fourth valve can also be used on some horns to change the piping to produce a trumpetlike sound. But thats usually on double bells, which are a pain to find.

  • I see you use the 4th valve. You are pretty good. Hope you become a pro at it

  • Tis called the Compensating Valve mate.

  • wrong! comensating valve is on the sde of a euph. his is technically a 4 valve euphonium.

  • i think your wrong. What is the function of the 4th valve? compensating! It doesn't matter where the valve is located.

I also have a 4 valve euph. with the 4th valve on the side of my euphonium

  • the compensatuon part is relevent in name only due to the fact of it being on the side

it it there not only to act as an in tune 13 but an in tune low c# the fourth valve on a compensating euphonium also has the ability and awesome power to change the inst. key

  • flamerider, did you say that just to bring attention to yourself? I hope you did, because something that ignorant would only be said by a complete idiot. not even george bush would say that.

  • at least thats what it is on tuba or sousa, i just figured it was the same for euphonium. and of cours g.w.b. wouldnt say somthing like that, to my knoledge he doesnt play euphonium...

  • @euphoniumhumper You actually can use the fourth valve for some first valve notes :P

  • @euphoniumhumper lol thts funny and hes totaly wrong the fourth valve is the same as the 1 and 3 valve but more in tune haha what a nooob :P

  • @euphoniumhumper Dude harsh, what's with the hate?

  • @flamerider8 wow are u a complete retard? cause its 1-3=4 u dumbfuck learn and dont speak untill u think about what ur about to say and u might not get bitched out in the future

  • @flamerider8 Actually.. It isn't... 4th valve on a Bb Euphonium would be the same thing as holding down 1-3 (F/C/F/A?/F).

  • For the love of goodness people!! 4th valve works as 1+3 on euph. Compensating system refers to extra tubing on the back of valves to help the lower notes become more in tune. Compensating goes in use when 4th is engaged. Not all 4 valve euphs have compensating. Such as ^ his. And just because the valve is on the side means that it's compensating.

  • Whoops!! I meant this in my last sentence ^: And just because the valve is on the side doesn't mean that it's necessarily compensating.

  • You have great talent and potential. If you stick with it, i think you will do very well.

  • gr8 song

    how you figure it out?

  • listened to it

  • Thats kind of like a tuba-baritone mix... very cool

  • haha, it does sound like a tuba!

  • I want that!

  • kewl!!!

  • never heard of a euphonium but it sure does sound great for oot songs... keep em comin'!

  • a euphonium has more conical tubing, it get gradually larger. That is the only difference between a baritone and a euphonium. (euphonium literally means "good horn" because it has a soothing tone, less brassy)

  • Beautiful work, nice job!

  • Excellent.=)

  • That was great

  • Very nice, I hear no tuning issue.

    Keep playing you sound wonderful!

  • dude, that was awesome!

  • He takes alot of Breaths

  • Nice! how long did it take you to learn that

  • Clever use of 4th valve instead of 1 and 3.

  • ...that's exactly what the 4th valve is for. That's not clever at all.

  • Its basicly valves 1 and 3. It's better in tune with it

  • hey can you please tell me how to get the tone?

  • yea, practice.

  • that's no excuse. People play live and have great tone.

  • Very much true. Practice DOES give you good tone.

And knowing how to tune the instrument helps.

  • Long tones.

  • tuning not that far off for recording parts separately...

do you have a transcription of it?

  • whoa badass!!! XD and i just noticed your name... O_o

  • You really did this just by ear?? I would have to have sheet music!!! :D

  • wow, this is amazing

    :D

    REALLY good :]

  • even better than the original!!!!!!!!!

  • does it have 5 valves?

one for the left hand thumb?

  • nope just 4

  • eww, pinky valves. good job though.

  • Hey! I'm a fan of the pinky valve. I had to switch from the pinky to the other hand, hardest thing I've ever done in life, next to chopping off me own leg.

  • It helps with the tone and opens up the slides a bit. >_> That's why.

  • That was awesome! What kind of euphonium to you have?

  • it says YAMAHA yep321 on the valve, but that might not be it :P its the same thing as a compensating horn expect with the 4th valve on the top instead of on the right side.

  • it says YAMAHA yep321 on the valve, but that might not be it :P its the same thing as a compensating horn expect with the 4th valve on the top instead of on the right side.

  • i'm pretty sure it is a yamaha yep321... i rent the same kind for school... but i'm saving up to buy a silver besson prestige euphonium.
