@orlokyshadow wayyyy better if you like old school final fantasy gameplay..lost odyssey feels like one of those old final fantasy games,ff13 doesn't..ff13 feels like you playing a action/adventure game..im pretty sure if sakaguchi still works for square-enix..he'll probly use this story n gameplay for ff13.

@orlokyshadow It is what FF 13 should have been like. Yes it IS that awesome. Maybe not in the graphics anymore (Which are very great for a 2008 game), but still an unbelievable experince in story, gameplay, characters and drama. You will instantly want to throw FF13 into trash can if you play this.

@orlokyshadow I've played and still own 13. I'm a great fan of final fantasy. Lost oddesy is by far better. FF13 -Is not final fantasy- It doesn't have that feel to it and the leveling system, doesn't exist. If you an original final fantasy fan I promise you will be disappointed.

What's the purpose of using Japanese voices...when a game (like this one) has perfectly acceptable English Voice-Acting? =/

I'd have to disagree with you, slightly. Though the voice acting isn't bad, it's just that some of the voices don't match up to their characters too well.

I thought this game had great voice acting, which is quite rare for RPGs. The only ones that bothered me a bit were the kids, but kids in general kind of annoy me so that's to be expected.

hey, how do you change formation right before a fight? like after Jansen finished speaking, you could bring up the formation. How did you do that? I always mess up formation and forget to change it before battles, especially boss battles. It would be very helpful for me :D

It does it for you before certain battles, mostly the optional bosses, you don't always know you're going to fight them and that.

Its makes you before most of the optional battles because a certain character needs to participate in the fight.

I'm thinking of getting Lost Odyssey (was replaying FFX recently, and that being so awesome got me in the mood for another rpg type game), but every video i see of lost oddysey it looks like the boss battles are all over in like, 1-3 turns. Is that normal, or are the people in the video's really over leveled for the encounter? Doesn't seem like it'd be fun if all the battles are that fast.

some bosses are tough (especially the second boss is a true HELL) while some others are just..normal difficulty.

Lost Odyssey really worths all its money-value 100% , especially for its "A Thousand Years of Dreams" part.

For me, Lost Odyssey is one of the top games of the decade..

oh, no no no. This person is waaay over-leveled. Not that its bad-- It's actually quite awesome. But I was only level 40-50 when I fought this, I think, and they are around lvl 80. I have NO IDEA how they got that high, and I wish I could be that lvled up, but still.

Think of it like this, if something was first made in English, and than it was dubbed in French, would you want to watch the French dub?

I think it's always better to watch something in the language of whatever country it's origin is in. It's usually done with the most effort and is the most meaningful.

But than again, in this case, Japanese voice acting can sometimes be extremely annoying.

If I spoke French, I probably would. Dubs can sound just as meaningful (sometimes even moreso) than the original language versions. People should be allowed to watch things in whatever language they prefer. It would best if games came with both the original language and a dub for their native country, that way everyone could be happy.

I listen to it in japanese, but its rly annoying because the words almost never match with the mouth, and sometimes they don't say anything and subtitles appear at the bottom. >> Still, I like japanese better.

Yeah, you're kinda right. The lip sync is made for english, but I think the japanese version was still the first one done, thus original. I may be wrong though :D

this game isn't that grate, it just has some spectacular boss battles. The story is the sux and voice acting is horible, alot of the time they dont even try to sync the voices to the mouths at all.

you get double cast at lvl 52 w/ Jensan and u fight the blue dragon a the top left part of the map its all snow, you follow the blue balls and hey drain your mabna. Just to letcha know.
