@SlapBassBastard95 When it comes to "feel" and compositional prowess, Marcus stands alone :-) The phrasing in his left hand, and the gospely/bluesy way he "thinks" musically, will always drawn listeners to him. It's like when Yoda brings out his light sabre, or Bruce Lee starts bouncing back and forth on his legs! lol!
@doublethumpbass89 nothing wrong with riffs. Cliff Burton is considered one of the best bassists ever and he played riffs to the point that he almost sounded like a third guitarist. Musical taste is subjective (unless you're talking about top 40 and all that pop stuff. That's all shit lol)
@ghauff you mustve not heard of larry graham then i think marcus himself would agree lmao larry has the most animated funk ever. shit he helped created funk lol
Believe it or not, music is not a foot race. Nobody plays better, just different approaches. It's all a matter of who you like better, and thats cool for you, but I'm a little more mature than that ;-)
@hwoodj20 damn. its about time somebody else in the world other than me has the same thought. I totally agree. probably half of these people with these better than comments probably don't even play bass. lol
@ChristIllusion024 Hi kid, first off, show some respect, secondly, Marcus Miller is a professional bassist. Les Claypool does what he does well in his own style, but you can't compare him to someone as technically talented as Marcus Miller who's a real session bassist and can play most any genre on a high level. Sorry if it hurts your feelings ;)
@m2smoe Hi Douchebag, first off, lick my balls goat fucker, secondly, If you walked up to marcus miller and asked him 'Who do you think is a better bass player, you or les' I can guarantee you he would say 'neither, we both have a very unique style of playing wich is uncomparable' Real musicians (or hell even real people) understand the unique playing style of each individual. Its Bias fucks much like yourself that make music a competition and therefore destroy it.
@ChristIllusion024 If I walked up to Miller to ask him that he'd just smile and not answer. If I went up to any studio manager in the world and ask, I'd get the same answer everytime: Marcus Miller.
@m2smoe ok your both retarded for fighting on the internet, but christillusion is right, Everyone has there own style of playing,, les and marcus are both musical geniuses and you cant compare them.
So honestly I think your the one who needs a reality check (: sorry
@PR122094 We're both retarded for fighting yet you're jumping right in huh? I love 15 year olds who just got a bass for Christmas and watch a Claypool video on youtube that blew their mind. You've still got alot to learn.
@m2smoe I was 15 when I picked up bass; got one for Christmas. I was blown away by Les Claypool when I first heard Primus' John the Fisherman, yet I love Marcus Miller too. According to your logic... that's not possible? And remember, Les sings while playing the way he does; not an easy task. Both deserve credit in their own respect, so cool off man.
@PR122094 Are you a professional bassist? Because unless you make a living off bass, like I do, you better keep quiet or you're going to end up ashamed of opening your mouth.
@m2smoe whats your credentials for this analysis, tis a pretty stupid way to look at it,they'd probably jam together and have a laugh and just think your a little fruit for comments like that.
@monkey1506 who said anything about them getting along? Their playing styles are different, but Marcus' is still alot harder to achieve, he's a very technical, all-around player whereas Claypool does his own thing. I'm not bashing Claypool, I'm just saying Marcus is a much more versatile player.
@m2smoe You are right, and it's a pity you have to deal with such vulgar fanboys. M Miller for example won the studio session award three times in a row so comprehensively that he was removed from the running by the awarding committee. Marcus Miller is defo by far a more versatile bass player, and one of the finest, most underrated American performing musicians to ever live LOL.
@m2smoe You are seriously dumb sir. You can't compare 2 totally different styles of bass playing. Both do their own thing and they are both sick. Just in a different way.
@UtahBraten Why try to be respectful and call me sir if you're going to call me dumb, asshole? Go play your bass instead of trolling youtube comments.
@m2smoe The fact that you tried to change the subject by insluting my feelings and telling me I should rather go and play my bass, at what you miserably failed, suggests that you don't have any arguments left.

Pretty good, I wouldn't say he's the GOD of bass though, Les Claypool is way better.

@Mohabdeep If Marcus Miller got both of his arms cut off, Les Claypool still would be no where near Marcus.
