  • Did that siren sound again during that storm? It must have been really loud. But the heavy rain and the winds probably blocked out the sound a little bit.

  • haha i played soccer against streamwood h.s.

  • i remember this storm, it was only alot of rain. it wasn't as bad as the august 2008 storm that hit chicago

  • i remember this hit addison illinois head on, literally a full on wall cloud, spawned a tornado one town over in elmhust illinois. the winds were unreal , clocked at almost 100 mph gusts, no power for some time , multiple trees down etc

  • What about the storm that hit at like 7:00 that same day, clouds were black and green

  • Awesome video of this heavy Tstorm with gusty, whiteout-conditions.,...nice lightning and good thunder too..love your own in-depth comments--big time--...excellent job on your own commentaries... BTW..I've sent along a video response of my own 7/1/09-Tstorm...to see if you like my video too..very similar to your own big Tstorm...enjoy mine if you'd like....as I've enjoyed yours....

  • When this storm happened, it was my second day of school. It was the last class of the day, and just when we were about to be dismissed, the Tornado sirens went off and the principal went on the intercom and frantically announced to the teachers to not release the students. It was nasty. We had to stay in class an extra 30 minutes, and we were watching Mythbusters-LOL!

  • I remember this very well. I had just returned from downtown Chicago where there were blue skies and a few puffy clouds with scores of people out at the lake front and on boats, etc. One hour later this very storm hit suddenly. I was supposed to fly out of Chicago that day but obviously my flight was cancelled.

  • i was in that shit dude it was scary

  • OMFG I WAS THEIR!!!

  • Did your power go out?

  • i was scarred shitless when this storm hit!!!!!!!

  • Alabama, despite being in the nations second tornado alley, has the sorriest wussy storms that peter out quick & you can always see the pink at the end before the storm hits !

  • Hey man great video. I was going down Gary Ave in Carol Stream when it struck. It was one hell of a ride indeed. Where in Bartlett was this filmed? I live in the next town over in Streamwood by Lake St and Bartlett Rd.

  • West Bartlett Rd across from US Can.

  • we had the same storm. u guys r lucky. our neighborhoood was full of trees on the street and after the FIST storm. its little buddy came and destroyed everything AGAIN.

    our car got busted

    :(

  • that was a brutal storm in hoffman estates

  • This isn't in Chicago. This is in Bartlett, and yes, that is a tornado alarm by that red building, which is Nature Ridge. (A school)

  • Is that a tornado siren by those red buildings from your backyard? If it is, then it looks like that tornado siren is an American Signal T-135.

  • Yup...that siren is my best friend during storm season. The people in my neighborhood actually tried to block the siren from being located in our subdivision. I told the village that if they wanted to, they could put it on my property. Friggin' idiot neighbors!

  • lol nice. i feel the same way bout train horn bans, but thats cuz im a train fan, not just a tornado fan

  • awesome, i was at school when the first wave hit, it was a supercell and they had tornado warnings for cook county, it was sick!

  • I have a feeling that this storm is going to be memorable for a very long time.

  • OMG that is a strong storm!

  • I go nuts in strong storms

  • Me, too.
