  • I just boughta 1368 sq feet house and the whole house smells. How many gallons should I buy. I'll just close the windows since I have no plastic to cover the entire house.

then reopen them when it's finished to let the smell out

  • I agree with this guy, 100%.

  • There are similar products in the Doctors Foster and Smith catalogue. Again, I have no financial connection with them, I just know someone who is stinking up their house with too many cats. Cat pee has ammonia is it, which is why you can't use ammonia to clean it.

  • @z0rgz0rg if this is true i hope you need help.

  • FYI to anyone wanting to buy ODORFIX PLUS - the website only accepts orders, but there is no way to return the product for their 90 day guarantee. I even reported them to my credit card to see if it can be done. Clearly there is something fishy going on; maybe the company has gone under but don't count on getting your money back in case it didn't work for you. It didn't do squat for my problem.

  • kill the pet and the stupid idiot who brings the anamals in the house.

  • @roy3951 rofl cool person wishing death on people over cat pee

  • Need help - We have a microfiber reclinng sofa that is not even 1 year old, my cat peed on one cushion which is NOT removable. We used a steam carpet/upholstery cleaner on it and thought it was fixed. Now, after two days of rain, the humidity has brought the stink back. The "contact us" on the Odorfix site does not work. Can't afford a new sofa so was wondering if anyone here tried this on cushions that were previously soaked with cat pee and if it helped.

    Thanks for any help.

  • The website might be a mess but they sent the product right away. No correspondence, no confirmation, just the OdorFix Plus. Now I'll see how it works. P.S. Bottle directions read: "Mix only the amount you intend to use immediately."

  • Thanks. I tried asking via their website but received an error message when I hit 'submit'. I ordered the product, paid via paypal, the receipt had an email address -- bounced -- so, either I'll get the product or involve paypal for a refund.

  • What is the shelf-life of this stuff once mixed? Do you have to use it immediately? or can you pre-mix and have it on hand for days? weeks? Also, the odorfixplus website could use some help.

  • @SusannahK . My understanding is that you should use it immediately. I think it's effectiveness lessens over time. I only mix enough to use right away. But you could ask the manufacturer.

  • @bhaufschild the lady had 30 cats??????? the smell in that property must have been unbearable......I have just one cat a female and when it pisses on the floor in the house it leaves a strong smell and thats just from one cat.....tom cat piss is even stronger. Floor cleaners that can be bought from superstores do not work they just seem to make the smell of cat piss even stronger and as for bleach......USELESS!!!!!! I`ve used bleach in the spot where my cat has pissed and it pissed again

  • Odorfix is the only enzyme cat urine remover that has works so well. Other enzyme based products just are simply not strong enough. BTW: I too believed getting male cats fixed... all three of mine are neutered and after a couple year two began spraying again. My vet say that neutering is no guarantee that your boy won't still spray.

  • Thanks for the info you seem like a genuine nice guy please don't take offense if I ask if anyone else out has tried your advice with odorfix and can let us know how it went for then. Thanks .

  • look up skunk smell remover (combine household products to create an oxgen generator)

  • Here's an essential product if you have pets; Nature's Miracle (available in pet shops) and Kids 'n Pets (available at Stater Bro.s Grocery. Both are enzyme cleaners that only eat biological by-products (urine, vomit, wine, etc.).

Because it only effects bio waste, there is no effect to resin, cotton, etc., but (big BUT) do not use on silk or leather.

Anyway, it's the only stuff that will eliminate cat urine so well the cat can no longer smell it and react to it.

  • I'm renting a new apartment, same issue. Please people, fix your cats.

  • how about just getting your cats fixed.

  • @elayna61 Do you know what "getting your cats fixed" IS?

  • I just had to comment on your video....wow, really!

  • I hope this works.

  • @Wichitacindy how bout this?

  • Get rid of the damn cats and never get another one -THAT's the way to avoid the damage and putrid smell !

  • this is a godsend!!! i was inches of ripping the cats nads off myself!!

  • @meme2222ish LMAO

  • Since this product contains live organisms, I wonder if the chlorine in tap water would kill them. Hmmmm... In any event, I let MY tap water sit overnight to let the chlorine dissipate before I mixed the solution.

  • I love the two cats I have but, by God, when they die I will never have another one. SOBs will DESTROY a fkn house

  • throwing that ammona and bleach... lucky they didnt open up causing a cloud of mustard gas

    nice vid though

  • Thank you for making this vid! I had no idea how I was going to get the cat smell out of my basement; nothing has really worked on it. I am definitely going to try this OdorFix stuff. I think I'll get a blacklight, too, and do a "surgical strike" on my basement with it.

  • I read somewhere that when a cat smells ammonia, it tries to pee on it to cover it up, since it's its way of marking its territory to pee on stuff.

  • It sounds like a too complicated to use and probably doesn't work that well.

  • a product called odor ban found at walmart or Sam's club works well also; also try orange colored cleaner.

  • pee removing expert..

  • you can use a blacklight to find pee spots instead of having to sniff it out. We did it in our new house, and we found spots all over, we are disgusted!!

  • @crunchycee oh wow you have to tell me were to get one i have ocd an have resorted to chucking the cat outside as i clean top to bottom when my cat spays but cannot find the spot were it peed its driving me crazy!?

  • I never tried Orofix Plus but this guy is speaking the truth regarding what must be done to get rid of cat urine smell. Bleach, ammonia and pet store products DO NOT WORK. You must first physically remove as much of the contaminated area as possible -- carpet, flooring, drywall, etc. It has to go. Anything left that cannot be removed must be coated in Zinsser B-I-N Primer, Ultimate Stain Blocker, White, Tintable. It's a lacquer you can find at Home Depot, red & white can.

  • The Zinsser B-I-N Primer seals the smell in so it can't get out. This is the same approach hotels take when they want to convert a smoking room to a non-smoking room. They treat all the walls, ceiling and flooring (carpet removed) with a sealing primer. They do this because trying to clean out the smell is impossible.

  • thank you for posting this. I have to clean a house I just bought. I searched and searched for help, this is the only comprehensive instruction I got. I can stop searching now. God bless!

  • Uggh! 30 cats! That's compeletly absurd and disgusting! I would have had to torch the house.. I have cat allergies.. imagine the dander.. AND PEE!! Cat pee is as strong as chlorine...Ugghhhhh!
