One has to remember Gia recieved her fame all at once and as an 18 year old kid. I've had many friends that have played D1 college football and professional football. The whole lifestyle is often too much for them to take. Gia's life at that time was at least 10 fold harder than that. Nobody told her no and nobody gave a fuck. She lived also in a time that AIDS was not understood. She was also terribly misunderstood. Truly tragic

I'm not 100 percent sure on this, of course, but I would think she had had sex with him before, and he wanted it when she just wanted to pay for drugs...(another alt. could be that the guy just wanted her money and have sex, I guess... D: )
I think that she was making "normal" conversation and plans -- fantasizing about kids. She knew that she would never have kids. Just conversation with Linda. How sad...how sad a life.

The thought might not have occurred to her that any children she had could even get it.

my grandfather passed from AIDS in the late 80's and we had to keep it a big secret. people were really freaked out by it at the time.

Hard to say. She could have gotten it because sometimes she would trick off for her heroin when she was low on cash
or she might have gotten it from sharing needles when shooting up

People weren't aware of the severity of AIDS back in the 80s. The disease had really just started going around, people didn't understand it then.
