me too i was ther my 1st festival i was 15. had a amazing weekend it gave me a festival bug i still have today tho my friends dont seem botherd any more. BTW at 2.06 you can see the lighting rig ready to make the big chilly pepper logo that was used on stage during ther set later that night
was there. Senser, Rollins Band & Chilis, IIRC. Unlike Glasto, tho, I couldn't find anyone selling class As - just about managed to score some black arc from a rasta.
I too was there! My first festival! Was mainly psyched for the Chilli Peppers and Rollins but was also blown away by Senser, Therapy?, Afghan Whigs and The J.Lizard! and yes, I feel old too!!

Sad little cunt. I will stamp on your face and what bollocks you may have left you stupid little nazi wanker, If you open your fucking eyes you may see something you pathetic little cunt, i would love to fuck your tight little arse because i know thats what you really want you dirty little fucker. xxxxx
And any way sir fucking cosmo after insulting me and my dead parents,i dont think any of this was aimed at you it was the nazi above this conversation a so called man who goes by the name 'siegheigyouniggers' .So now why dont you fuck off and lay down with my dead family. Same as 99% of people on line can't even go with the name the was given at birth you faceless cunt!!
Can you not read? What this has to do with dead parent is beyond me you thick cunt . They are dead, how the fuck dead can people bring someone up is news to me and the rest of the medical world.Hope your parents are nice and healthy and would never wish them any harm. Now as for us,very cheeky from afar are we not cosmo, fuck i forgot the sir.Lets swap emails and we can meet face to face and see who can take the piss out of dead family and who is the badly dragged up boy. jay xxx
It's like a trip back in time - the crowd have shaggy hair and scruffy clothes. But they're just as middle class as today, and it's astonishingly mono-ethnic.
Very, very true my friend. People now stand and watch a band like they are at the cinema watching a film and more interested pointing their camerphones at the stage. No emotion or anything, God im glad i went to Reading/Glasto in the 90s cause theres no way you'd get a crowd like that now.
it's not that they sound like ratm, it's the spirit of self-determination and the incendiary lyrics. that's what made them one of the british bands most like ratm in 1994
YESSSS great to see that footage, i was right at the front getting booted on the head by crowd surfers covered in mine and others sweat, great gig great fest and it was scorching weather for a fucking change.
Hi, for everyone's info Senser are producing new songs and you can download a new track of theirs for FREE at the official Imprint Music website. There is also loads of other up-to-date info about Senser's new album/tour dates etc. So spread the word about this excellent band!
They were one hell of a band, there's nothing out there today that touches this. Such a shame that they fizzled out so quickly, they could have been the long-term flag-bearers for a much needed scene of angry, political music.
This still remains one of, if not the, best live show I've ever witnessed. And I've seen Rage, Tool, NIN, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Janes Addiction and White Zombie to list but a few contempories.
And what does Reading get these days? The f**king Kooks! 'Drawn' into an age of panic, more like.
Senser vs RATM? no contest really. Senser was an inspration to RATM as was Urban Dance Squad. And RATM will admit to both. Just variations on a theme really. And all three bands found their niche, voice, theme and market and did very well for a while. Thatcherite Britain was not a nice country and I guess nothing has changed much. But anger and dissent are no longer a market. These days you are likely to be called "unpatriotic" whatever the heck that means.
i agree somewhat with your sentiment but as for being called unpatriotic for voicing dissent in Britain? i cant agree wit hthat because millions do it everyday, its a national pastime, this isnt america ,just because you diss gordon brown you aren't a traitor.
"This lot were good for 5 mins... the british Rage Against The Machine?"
Less smack and more reality checks for you ... stop writing rubbish since you obviously don't know what this band is all about. Try the debut album and you will hear the range RATM never had ...
RATM are a good band but they're a lot different o this band so comparing them to anything but rap/metal is futile, these guys are a different breed and a better band.
I just don't know what's better. "State of Mind" or this. Both songs have power even today - i think i can call it as cyberpunk genre because of electronic background. When I hear this I always see cityscape like in "Blade Runner" or "Johnny Mnemonic". Kudos Senser!
year before this, this lot on the 2nd tent stage, mid afternoon and us lot on the ropes climbing cos it was rammed was the closest I've seen to a tent collapse at reading..happy happy leicester Fox
Dunno what you mean about good for 5 minutes?!?! Their debut album is a classic that I still isten to now and they returned to their original line-up with another great album in 2004.
