@pastryparrot1 No don't worry. I speak French and i can tell "Crep" is the closest pronunciation to French. Crape ? no way lol Btw i think your recipe is great because most of the recipes i've used tell you to break the eggs on the flower and then mix but it can become messy and lumpy so easily... and also if you want to do some just for dessert, you can add some fancy ingredients like vanilla sugar, bier, or rhum :) ...maybe you already know that but i'm saying just in case 4 the viewers
@KATOMATE01 Oh ho ho ho! Or so you /think/. Crêpe is a French word. The French do INDEED pronounce it CREP. CRAPE is the Americanize way of pronouncing it. I'm not saying she did or didn't know this beforehand, but still, it's no reason to blatantly call someone out. Stop being so ethnocentric.
Heyy...I'm the guy with the $2,000.00 crepe maker. I have to agree that your recipe is right on the money. i use your recipe. Works beautiful. not too crispy, not too saggy. Just right. The only change i made is to replace 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of Cointreau.
flying kiss for your adorable dog 2:40. can't wait to make crepe using your recipe. thanks for sharing. you're awesome!!! the second 4:49 is much better
Your crepe is TOO THICK. almost like a pancake. YES! the crepe must be paper this otherwise, it will loose its french elegance and texture not to mention a thick crepe dough will dominate the whole taste of your dish.. Crepe thickness is 3mm MAX.
@rshenster Thus will depend on the size of your pan. You want enough to cover the bottom with out being thick. You might have to sacrifice the first couple. Thanks for coming by!
I made some crepe this morning and followed your recipe and it came out great!I did however use the mixer later on which was much easier for me since I did not have the whiskers.
I just love the way my crepes came out for my first time thanks to you. With a little practice, I got good at flipping them and knowing when they're done. Do you have any other great simple recipes I may use?
@souperflipz Thanks for coming by! You will need to gauge the size of spoon you need according to the size of your pan. What matters is that you get enough batter in your skillet to make a thin crepe. If the spoon is smaller or larger really does not. Does that make any sense? Take care!
@Mrswhugy Thank you! I have never had Japanese crepes so I don't know the answer to your question. I am sorry. These are very good so I hope you give them a try. Have a fantastic weekend!
@pastryparrot1 Iam gonna buy some flour and some other stuff to make a crepe any good ideas what to put in it? not too complex ingdertnits iam only 13 lol
I watched this video and then made crepes for the first time :D they came out almost perfect! Thank you so much (: I had them with cream cheese, jelly, and nutella!
@TheSISTERSfromHEAVEN You can melt it in a small pan or in the microwave in a microwavable dish. It won't take long so watch your butter. Thanks for watching.
@mapleleaf80649 It's either way. Americans tend to pronounce it crapes...but in French, it sounds more similar to Crep. I think we all know what the word is either way lol.
no offence but why do americans messure things in cups noo i dont have the same size cup as you this is ridiculous lol how on earth am i gonna know how much i need
@mamamcrae Yes. Go ahead and make them and then wrap them well in plastic wrap. Refrigerate them until you need them. They should be OK for a few days.
@Patissierecherie18 Either put it into a microwavable dish and microwave for 45 to 60 minutes or put it into a little pot and melt it on the stove. Thank you for coming by!
