Even broken, you can sell these things for like $300 on Ebay. Operational ones are going for $600. These things have held their value because they were only manufactured for a few years. Unfortunately I have a bunch of videos that I can't watch.
It was another of Sony's fail format, it's microMV, a proprietary videotape format introduced in 2001 by Sony, that used 12 Mbit/s MPEG-2 compression, it could not be directly edited with mainstream DV editing software as Adobe Premiere or Apple Final Cut Pro and quailty was not that good.
This is equivalent of a impractical concept car that for some reason has made it into the dealerships. No sane person would want to drive it, but a fool and his money are welcome to try.
Im sorry but i agree, the video is useless...if you really want to help the bunch of unaffortunates that have this issue and have to do it ourselves, please do the following:
1. make the video slower...man, youtube its free... they dont charge you by the time..
2. please explain what you are doing, step by step, so we can see the parts and the entire process..
3. thell us were can we find the replacement parts... ist a hard task , even for a webmaster...
Mine has been broken for like 3 years, the cassette compartment doesn't retract back into the casing and I can't close the battery holder back in because of this...
This seems like something for an computer designer to do... won't try it, I don't even have a sodder thing so f it. I'll just smash it up lol.
@Thetruthishere11 I disagree. THe music, loud, and not needed, yes, but all you have to do is turn the volume down and use the pause button to do the step by step visualization. It's all there under 10 minutes, that was the point I'm sure.
I have this issue with mine. I can get lucky and get it to work once in awhile. This looks wayyy to complicated. Can I ship you mine to fix and pay you? LOL
Hi what grease do you use?. I don't want to use the Sony grease because it will give me the same problem in the future.
