  • Gotta learn this song for my new band forming. Cool stuff! Drummer for a band with no name yet. Lots of Journey stuff though! Can't wait....

  • An Angel took me,Song about loss

  • found this while searching for music not half bad

  • This song is just magical. xxx

  • steve perry's voice is surely a gift from heaven my god his voice gives me shivers down my spine pure genuine and passion wont hear a voice like this again. steve is journey. no one comes close to his voice.

  • steve perry's voice is surely a gift from heaven my god his voice gives me shivers down my spine pure genuine wont hear a voice like this again. steve is journey.

  • Steve and Journey put out some kick ass music, but the album Raised on Radio had to be one of their tops. So many great songs and what unbelievable guitar work by Neal... it is haunting.

  • i really like the story behind Arnel, he has a fine voice and i love "It could have been you song". But Steve made so many more (better) songs, and the passion in his voice is smth that drew us all to Journey. It could have been youuuuuuuuuu

  • Ok look Journey is Journey no matter who lead sings alright?

  • @PhillyCloud123 Okay seriously you have got to be F**KING kidding right? The name is the same, and that is it!!!!! You must be young and don't know the real Journey music or you just don't give a SH^T about the music!!!!

  • @steveperry4infinity Im a collector of Journey music i love music. All Im saying is Journey will go through many changes, but they'll never stop rocking. Dont be all self righteous about stuff you think you know.

  • STEVE IS JOURNEY!!!!!!!!HAHAHAA

  • who is the vocalist on this album?

  • @MorneRage The Great Steve Perry.

  • always liked them alwasys

  • you know its a good song when it has ZERO dislikes

  • @aquaizzy

only one who doesnt know what REAL music is would dislike this song

    and this song rocks PERIOD!

  • @stylistar exactly

  • The guitar, vocals, and well everything about this song is just fantastic! Wouldn't expect less from Journey. =] You guys know Randy Jackson played the bass in this album? Random fact lol

  • Arnel Peneda, Steve Aguieri, and Dean Catranovo can all sing well, but Perry I think has the best voice of all of them...Dean is pretty close....Hey, all of Journey's members can really sing!

  • Lovin the beat

  • This song now makes me think of the girl that left me 2 weeks ago... because that night, it could have been her. I miss her.

  • I really hate my generation, where people think growling and screaming and thin girly voices (i.e. Bieber) pass as great singing. Nope, to me Steve Perry is, was, and always will be the real deal. I get alot of flack for Journey being my favourite band, and I do take it personal when anyone shits on them for nothing, because if I hadn't discovered them, well... I don't think I'd be on the right path, maybe even dead. Now because of Steve, I decided I wanted to be a singer and a songwriter.

  • Nice Song!

  • I am so sick of the comparisons..let the music do the talking, shut up and listen

  • ppl need to leave each other alone - if a singer leaves a group and fans want to hear the live performances then you find another singer who can make the audiance happy, if you cannot, the tickets stop selling, if you can your on the road again. To argue about that is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pathetic.

1=2=3 now profane roar at me oh ye with little or no real life.

  • opinions are ok for both sides

  • wow whatta gem i love this tune thanks for remembering steve perry! thanks 2 gogon2

  • No wonder Steve is known as The Voice. No other male singer comes close to this perfection. In my opinion Steve was the reason Journey had all the hit songs and great albums they had years ago.Steve no longer being the lead singer of Journey is the reason why the band have not had a hit song or great album since For me no one will ever replace Steve Perry as Journey's lead singer.Comparing Steve Augeri and Arnel Pineda's voice to Steve Perry's voice is a total insult to Steve Perry in my opinion.

  • Clone Perry eh? in the voice. O;

  • ESTEVE PERRY JOURNEY*****

  • Best vocal performance by Perry (imho).

  • all arnel is a coverband singer thats all he knows, perry is the elvis of our time.perry can rite an produced, hes a genius, what has journey done in the last 15 yrs nothing,no hits.never be the same, journey is in the past.

  • God! This is heaven music!

  • Steve Perry is my hero. I've imagined him in a featuring with Blue Oyster Cult. That would really be something..

  • This is in the top 25 most underrated albums of the 80's easily.

  • Nobody's voice has ever aged so perfectly. His vocals were absolutely superb for the ROR album. R&B motown stuff.

  • I wish people would stop comparing arnel to steve perry. Yes the guy can sing but he is not in this mans league.

  • agreed, arnel can sing, but comparing perry's voice to him is just impossible, there is no way to compare them

  • @mordig well i can see why you hate it but dude just let sleeping dogs lie

  • @mordig and could never be^5 great comment, call em like ya see em.

  • All that so-called fans that crap on 'The Voice' for getting rid of Ross Valory and Steve Smith should remember that they were whinning constantly thru the early stages of the making of this album that alot of the so-called,are raving about.Steve gave JRNY what it needed at the time.A change in musical direction. And man, what a GREAT CHANGE it was/is.

  • MICKJACO8, I agree! Raised On Radio is a fantastic Album & very underrated! But not by Fans who admire/adore "The Voice!"

  • i would love to see Steve sing with a Big Band behind him.... classy stuff , a tux with his tails... yea thats it !

  • I really love this album...all great songs, and Steve Perry sounds so good here...

  • Steve Perry is AWESOME.

    hands down.

  • raised on radio my fav journey album, hands down!!!

  • this is steve, hands down. ♥♥♥ beautiful voice, beautiful man.

  • saw journey 11 times love this song I remember this is steve perry at his all time peak cant wait for his new solo it will be great to hear the VOICE again miss you steve

  • I just love this song so much!! It should have a million views!!! I love you STEVE!

  • love this....reminds me of a fantasy weekend i had in fla, when this came out,,,,,will never forget....journey has made more memories we cant even calculate,,,,,,,perry,,,u are the one and only my friend,,,,miss you.the cheap-imitations are o.k.-i get it, but you can never be replaced.....

  • what do you mean. This is Perry singin.

  • Comment removed

  • dude, what are you talking about, this is steve perry singing, wow your stupid, shut up, arnel pineda hasnt had a name since last year nor can he sing like this

  • OK I'm wrong I get it...his voice must've gotten deeper with age lol sorry didn't think I was gonna get pissed on. Everyone makes mistakes.

  • i wouldnt have pissed on you if you hadnt made the statement "if you were a true perry fan you would know it wasnt him" above ,which you removed. That just made you look stupider than before...

  • Exactly thats how I felt!! He said the same thing to me!!

  • @FoolInTheFlesh lol i feel ur pain an annoyance:)

  • ,,it sounded just like Michael McDonald at first.

  • @PupuTheClown Yeah... Mick McDonald pretty much sounds like a mid-80's Perry lowered by two semitones.

  • I missed the 97' tour, and I like this cut to from ROR, I would always review an LP, and I can would the songs that I thought should be released as singles, this is one!

  • If the original members ever decided to get back together for one last album and tour...I would probably shit my pants.

And then I'd die and go to Heaven...

  • perry, any day

  • It seems in the 70's and 80's bands formed on their own and each strived for a distinct sound. Today if a band has success there are twenty more copycats right behind them. And the original successful band wasnt that great anyway.

  • Dang right dude, well said!

  • I fracking love Journey!!! Divine album, epic song, Perry best singer ever. Brings me back in time with joy!!! Here we ho, press "repeat" again!!!

  • AMAZING is all I have to say about EVERYTHING Perry does!

  • Amazing vocal range guitar work and just good clean songs.

    Not political or nasty.

My 14 year old daughter loves them.

    Thank you Journey.

  • I really started appreciating Steve's voice when the songs started letting his raspy qualities out.

    Excellent.

  • Steve is unmatched for his Genre, Schon is amazing how he can change his style for a song. No other guitarist can do this, I always know Clapton, Santana, Satriani etc. But Schon is hard to pick sometimes. The guitar sound at the end has a great sound.

They were underrated because they were from Seattle and not grunge. Which is why the comments here arent rittled with vulgarities.

I live Journey and their fans.

  • I completely agree, Neal has some awesome solos and deserves credit for making Journey incredible.

  • Its sad i think of my GF tht i loved and is gone she dont kno wat she missing, it could have been you my love, where r u.. NOW???

    SP4EVER!!!

  • My favourite Journey-album. Love those very maleish vocal harmonies opposing the light tenor of Steve Perry. Fantastic!!

  • this is a darn good song. they should have pushed it for more air play, could have been a big hit.

  • miss steve arnel is just a fag

  • this such a cool song. Steve Perry 4 ever man! JOURNEY!

  • im 16 years old, im in love with this man.

that may sound bisarr, but true.

    STEVE<3

  • Luv, Luv u Mr Perry thanx 4 ur beautiful gift

  • Perryfan1996, I have followed Journey forever and took a LOT of lip from people for Loving This Band. I wont change! JOURNEY for ever!

  • im with you all the way. tell hell with the haterz. go with your heart and it looks like your heart is in the right place. JOURNEY FOREVER!!!!!!! if ppl dont like you for loving this band then they are just jealous thats why. JOURNEY forever.

  • Thanks,No one can play a Guitar like Schon and have the Pipes Perry Has..Schon on!

  • you are so welcome. JOURNEY ON!!

  • All of Steve Perry's songs give me goosebumps when I listen to them, especially this song. I could never get tired of listening to this song!!! Love you Steve!!

  • I only know one person who likes Journey(not including me!) and everyone else I know thinks Journey and Steve Perry are gay.

  • i love Journey, im 19, and i have changed all my friends minds about them! we blast Journey everywhere we go now!

  • you rock who ever u are keep on teaching the fools!

  • You'll never be 30, and relect on the good songs Beyonce or Britney produced pal. Glad you understand at your age people who actually have talent.

  • Hey, you got that right signguy44

  • classic..............

  • what a beautiful gift he gave the world .....his perfect voice ...

  • Steve Perry is co-writer/writer of over 90 Journey songs during his time with the band!! Bring Steve and his talents back to the music scene again by signing the Steve Perry Sing Again petition. Go to petitiononlinecom and enter Steve Perry in the search.

Let Steve know how many people are eager to hear THE VOICE again!!!!

  • The more I hear it the more I like it!

  • My favorite track from raised on radio. Brilliant!

  • Another one I didn't know. whatever Steve sings always sounds so nice!

  • i'm starting to discover hidden gems within Journey's treasure chest; thanks for uploading...

  • Another good one!

  • I've totally forgotten this song. Sounds better today than it did in 86. Never understood why this album was so underrated.

  • Love this album and Steve's deeper more mature voice! He is simply the best!

  • JustMyJourney!!! Liked your comment!! Les Carlsen might want to keep his eyes open, because if he sounds like Steve, he may be on Neal's next hitlist of lead singers!! LOL!!! I've got to hear that cd!! Can you imagine what it would be like to be in church during praise and worship, and Steve Perry walks out on stage! I would have a heart attack!! Hey anything is possible with God!!!

  • This song sounds an awful lot like a Christian rock band named Bloodgood. Check out their album entitled All Stand Together. Heck, even Steve Perry sounds exactly like their lead singer Les Carlsen. Who incidentally also sang the lead in the Broadway musical Hair.

  • one of my fav journey songs, though its not as well known to the public, its still equal in every sence. Journey rules!

  • Update on my comment below: After reading the interview in GQ, I have NOTHING for Journey anymore. Neal's last comment just TOTALLY turned me off! It's ok, what goes around, comes around! I don't ever remember being so disappointed! I have LOVED Journey for soo long, and feel sad they will never get back together after the interview. Without Steve, they will NEVER get out of his shadow! He will be a thorn in their sides forever !

  • Wow! Alot of us Journey fans here in Texas. I live in Austin Texas. I was at the Houston concert, waaaaaaaaay cool to here people screaming and to know one of them is me! I loved this song and what a voice! Not bad to look at either. TEXAS LOVES JOURNEY

  • Wow!! I'd forgotten about this song, Man!! As soon as I heard "The Voice" goosebumps literally went all over me!! I just love Journey and always will. I know Steve Perry's not with them...that whole mess SUCKED!!! It tore my heart out! I miss Journey WITH Steve Perry, but I understand and respect his feelings, not to go back!! I STILL LOVE YOU STEVE PERRY, but I ALSO LOVE JOURNEY! There will NEVER EVER NO WAY be a group who so touched me like they ALL did.

  • I love his voice so much. He makes me feel everything he says. He seems to been unlucky in love. Does anyone know if he is or was married? He stays so private.I live in Pearland :)

  • I don't believe he ever married. He does have a daughter and a grandchild. He's enjoying life and living easy now... He is literally living THE "so-called life" now. He is with us even when a Journey song comes on the radio and I guarantee you will smile, but when it's over, it leaves me feeling sad!!! They were what kids call "The Bomb" like no group can ever fill again!! He is very happy. Check out SP websites. He still loves us, just had enough of the manager and BS

    !!!

  • I love this song! Steve is flawless!!

  • Saw them on escape and frontiers WOW

  • I went to the Texas Jam in Houston on their Escape tour. They were the mainheadliners that night. Omg what fine ass concert. Steve did he usual wonderful singing. I miss those days. Where did they go?? Anyone else from Houston, southeasttexas area????...

  • Thanks for Adding this great song. Been looking for it for awhile. Awesome album with many great memories!!!

  • wow i can listen to this over and over again..becuz its that great!!!love you stevie:)

  • NO one can impersonate Perry!!! A few come close, but there's only ONE Steve!!

  • amen to that.....there is and forever will be "only one" Steve Perry..No One can sing like Steve

  • moments of steel take my breathe away.....what a great song it only gives me chills when steve sings it....no impersoninators!!!!!

  • Raised on Radio was a very good album, with the exception of Positive Touch, which was just too pop. The keyboards sounded like something from the Pointer Sisters or something. This song is probably the best song on the album that wasn't released as a single.

  • i never heard this song it is great song! he is singing to me in my dreams...........

  • ROR is a fantastic album from beginning to end. Still on regular rotation here, 21 years after. Great musicians and what an incredible voice! This tune my favorite at present. Regards from Norway to all fans!

  • Raised on Radio was such an underated album with some great songs on them. I love this one too. Thanks for adding it!

  • favorite Journey song of all time! thanks for posting!

  • One of my favorite songs from one of Journey's most underrated albums! Critics were never fair to Journey but I think the sold-out arenas and multi-platinum albums proved them wrong. ROR was a bit off the beaten path for JRNY but it still rocked!!

  • Another great song by Steve Perry. I loved it. I agree Steve puts his heart and soul into all his songs. Thanks for posting gogon2.

  • Always loved this song so much !!! From his heart & soul !!!! Powerful song!! Thanks !!

  • Underated song.
