no the texture wont be repeated when you make a sky box you dont use the texture of the sky if you do it will look filthy. so what you need to do is Use the Texture called skybox its blue with a cross. then in the MAP drowdown under map settings there is a option to change the sky.

Set all the walls and ceiling of the cube to this texture.

but then the texture is repeated, which is awful and won't work unless you are making some completely underground level.

what i do is create a box around the map, apply a skybox texture and then make it hollow its a quick way of getting a sky all the way around your map

Did you get the new Hammer in Source SDK? Do you get those errors when you start up Hammer? Would you know how to fix it? Most of the solutions don't work at all. Help please?

You might have the same problem i had. Try this: Double click Steam shortcut. Go to tools and if you see source sdk there, right click it and choose properties. Then click "set launch options" and type in

-engine EP1 click ok and that should do it. Hope that works for you

Mac is okay, it's not great. Problem with mac is that nothing is compatible, if she had a mac, she wouldn't be able to be creating this map, now would she? There is no great types of FPSs on the mac currently.

Infact, the new Intel Macs with Leopard [new Mac OSX] can run Windows XP or Vista as a secondary boot load. Not only that, Intel Macs are able to play games like BF2142, etc.

totally. macs are the best operating system because they can run vista and/or xp, everyone should get a mac for this reason.

Macs cost twice as much for a system that you cant tweak and cant upgrade. Im a designer and everyone says macs are better graphically but in reality they just put an expensive monitor on the damn thing. hell i built my pc for about 800 bucks and it blows my roomates mac away and he's the one who told me that.
