  • read again son..... maybe you will understand...

  • emperor... just check some videos and you'll see. When gebrselasie runs with good runners like makau lel mutai kebede or gharib Always puts his hand over his chest and start opening his mouth..like this or london 07,nyc half marathon or simply finish the race behind. Before running any competition he and his manager, agree with the organization that are not athletes with fast times. He should run with the best runners every year in london, ny and not to avoid them with excuses like "pollution".

  • Gebrselassie needs to stop quitting during a race! He is the symbol of determination, the great emperor. Finishing last is okay, as long as he tried thats all it matters. :)

  • aww! BMW :P !!

  • I'll break this record in one day

  • @Edward93Cullen let's hope that :) !!

  • Fantastic!

  • was he eating something? or is he just spitting?

  • the power of smoking!

  • @qaz67sd If this is in reference to Haile's asthma, please, go kill yourself. He is the greatest distance runner this planet has ever seen. 28 world records, everything from the 1500m to the Marathon. If you even have the slightest belief that he smokes, you're seriously mislead, and obviously don't know anything about running, or run.

  • wow!!!

    incredibleman!!!

  • but what?!

  • Haile was second for a long time but

  • @Kimutai001, I agree with you. There are currently six Kenyans who are on fire: 1. Patrick Makau 2. Geoffrey Mutai 3. Emmanuel Mutai 4. Abel Kirui 5. Moses Mosop 6. Martin Lel. May be Lel is not in the league of the others due to injuries but he is also great! These six athletes will dominate the world and bring down the world record to 2:02.xx. I cannot wait for London. Any combination of any of the three is good enough to bring gold. It is so sad that our dear Samwel Kamau died. RIP Sam.
  • @SonNative Lel not in the same league? He beat Makau this year in London. But he has faced some tough tough times with his many injuries. But yes, Kenya is superdominant in the marathon; I predict at least the gold and one minor medal in the Olympics next year (granted one has a bad day). These six, plus perhaps one or two lesser known marathoners who will improve by next year, can take the prizes. Don't know where Wanjiru would've figured in, but it's sad that he died/ struggled post-Beijing.

  • @YiftertheShifter1 ,

I agree. Lel lost about three years due to injuries but if his form in London is a pointer, he still has it. We also have Wilson Kipsang in this league. I do agree that save for an act of God, the Kenyans should win gold in London unless of course Haile is smoking hot. The guy never seems to age. HE still has it.

As for the ladies, the Russian is also a medal contender outside the Ethiopians and the Kenyans. She could very well win gold.

  • more respect...

  • This is a superb performance....more to come soon...watch out in the Frankfurt marathon (Wilson kipsang) ,Chicago (Geoffrey Mutai) and New york Marathon (Emmanuel Mutai). Proudly Kenyan!!!! Go, go, go Kenyans!!!!

  • Great !!!1

  • I can only hold that speed for 15 minutes max and i think I'm good.

Those guys hold it for 2 hours. Damn!

    Mad respect.

  • @wowdude22 , man, are you a sub15min runner in 5k? At his average you would do a 5k in 14:40. Not really sure you can acomplish that.

  • proudly Kenyan...waooo

  • Damn ! !
