  • Nice..first 5sfte I've seen in a FWD. I'm doing the Hybrid in my MR2. 5sfe bottom with a 3sgte top end. But I'm aiming for much higher than what you are running. I'm aiming for 450ish. Forged Rods, Pistons, Cam, Port and Polish, Larger Turbo, Megasquirt, etc. It's so worth it since the 5sfe has a MUCH stronger crank. Less likely to spin bearings like the 3sgte. Mines a from the ground up build I'll be starting here REAL soon be done by spring. Can't wait. Nice car tho bro..like that in FWD

  • Good job bro I'm looking to boost also, but still gathering up the parts and doing more research.

  • what setup is that? i have a 91 na mr2 and i want to turbo it it has the 5fsfet in it but im not to sure what kind of setup i want to run

  • A where did u get ur intercooler

  • what ems are you running?

    i have a 93 mr2 with a 5sfe, i have all the components from a 3sgte mr2(injectors, intercooler, ct26, etc).

i'm trying to megasquirt first then 5sfte it. msefi.com doesn't get a lot of traffic, my thread there is stale.

    help is greatly appreciated

  • Its 100% possible. and is still on the road today. I have a t3/t4 turbo installed. much bigger than the standard ct26 off of mr2s that everyone usually uses. thats where u see the 180 hp. this is 242hp to the WHEELS. not flywheel. Technically it is around 10.5 psi. i just decided to round it up to an even 11. Join the 6gc forums. you will find this celica as well as many others that have STOCK internals and run the t3/t4 turbo with a range from 215-320hp!

  • @SeverX13 just wondering is it worth turboing the 5sfe now that you've done it? or just drop a 3sgte in? Also i'm a bit worried that since its FWD it wont be able to handle that much power. Am i worrying over nothing?

  • @orrinxu honestly i wouldnt have it any other way. except more boost of course ;). but yes, you are worrying over nothing. the 5s is a stong engine and when built right can handle alot of power. i have stock internals. and see what i did. go on 6gc.net look for the mod presure2. same setup as me and has 320hp @ 19psi +cams i believe. just because its FWD doesnt mean it cant stand power. look at civics. its about how you build it and how much money you have. no if its FWD or not.

  • its possible.... very...

  • I can't prove it, but this video doesn't prove it either I have a 5sfet and i have seen kits offered.... 240hp @ 11 psi? I pray that was estimated at the flywheel at the dyno! Cause i don't see it! Last i read 10psi put the 5sfe @ about 180-190 whp, please make me eat my words cause i would really love to. Good job tho.

  • @DeyehKai dont buy a kit thats offered. the only way to really make a good long lasting turboed 5sfe is to build on yourself. its exactly what everyone as well as myself has done.

  • Again.... Again.... Again.... lol. I can't wait to start seriously modding my 95 GT. Your just sounds evil lol.

  • haha just keep your mind set and dont let people discourage you and youll on fun car on your hands
