Lord Buddha adviced so to Ananda tero because they are Buddhist monks. that is how Buddhist monks should treat woman. That does not apply the same way for lay men. Buddhist monks have to behave that way towards woman because they have to keep their mind clean out of lust and romance. That law does not apply for lay men! :-)
