2CVs are so much fun I've had one for about 20 years and driven around France in it. They appear to be quite rare in France, so it is always a head-turner, especially in cities. I seem to have missed the fascism debate, the 2CV was a people's car, as was the Volkswagen. As for ugly, have you seen the Porsche Typ12 Model Nuremberg?
Hello, you have the design of this plane? 'm from Brazil, I want to invest and motivate experimental aviation here, but I see you get the region of Rio Grande do Sul had if you donate to the project? We have 4 factories including aki Brava and known worldwide and a builder Affordaplane, but wanted to innovate making these minimax, which are beyond gabino to draw attention. I hope Response.
I own a 2cv. I'm a mechanic (jaguar/ aston martin) but the 2cv is the best fun. Sooooo much! The engineering behind it is awe inspiring but simple.....just don't gave an accident, but hey what's life of ya can't have a risk?
what is your static thrust(easy to rig a measuring device)? what is the weight of complete engine less prop? what is redrive ratio and where are plans/engines obtainable/thanks for your posting
I'm Amerikan, and i can assure you that not all Amerikans hate the 2CV. I'd love to trade my Ford for one. Or trade it for a dog and shoot the dog. (an old saying, I don't really mean it)
I don't hate the 2CV, I'm just not attracted to it's looks. With that said, as the price of gasoline goes up and up, the 2CV is looking better and better. I love it as an aircraft engine. Much better than a 2 cycle.
hi, i was really impressed by your engine and plan on building my own ultralight from a 2cv engine as it is aircooled. i was just wondering if you need to modify it before you can use it.. do you need to increase its hp??
@guitarzan2532 Because as an American that loves freedom from tyranny, I see America heading down the road of fascism, much like Hitler's Germany. So to highlight/bemoan that fact I add a Germanic flavor toi the spelling. My apologies to present-day Germans- this is not about you or your country (love your country) but about fascism wherever it pops up..
Pros: parts are VERY cheap compared with aircraft engines.
Cons: AFAIK Fuel economy and I just don't feel the engine is reliable enough. They're not designed to be resistant to shock cooling. They don't have dry sump lubrication so aerobatics are out of the question. They don't have mixture control, etc.
Okay, I've driven a few 2CV's and derivates. I've driven 130 cars since getting my driver's licence and I really must say: of all the cars I've driven, I've had the most fun in those cars.
It's a beatiful Car! I really love it... But it's weird: All american people really HATES that car... But European people (And here in south america it was a very popular car) like it... why? :S
I probably would have used chocks if I thought it was going to pull out the 60' spruce behind it. Once the slack pulled out, the engine was shut down.
The engine comes from a Citroen 2cv. It is absolutely the ugliest car in the world. It's made by the French. Go ahead and Google it. You'll see what I mean.
omfg - asif you say that, its better than the nazis with ther beetle, im a fan of big american caddies, but id like to see you pull out 50MPG in one of them!
i own a 2cv now, since my last post, and they are truly amazing!
I wonder if anybody had used a Fiat 500 engine ....good engines too...

2cvs are amazing arent they :)

Seems like putting something to in front of the tires would've been a safer idea than simply holding the plane back.
