  • it can be called anything you dont have to be rude about it he just happens to call it bon-zai not bone-sai.

  • Where do you get your Bonsai pots? They seem expensive.

  • Thankyou great explanation oh this plant :) First part made me giggle lol

  • the exposed roots are amazing

  • nice plat. Good job.

  • nice plant. Good job- im going to check your other videos now and see if you have any tutorials about trimming the small bonsai trees. Thank you.

  • but (bone-si) bonsai isnt a english word its the way they pronounce it in japanese dumbass

  • Great vids mate, l replace gutters and downpipes for a living and find some great "ready to go" bonsai hanging on to life up there. Australian native trees are very hardy and age well...showing all their wrinkles and grey hair.

  • How long have you been growing this wonderful Schefflera?

  • Lovely little tree indeed... Good job telling all the online haters how little you care about what they say.

  • I dont think I would have quite the creative mind you do. I thought it looked good before you trimmed it --- and after --- Whoa! Simply Georgeous. Mine would probably turn out to be twigs with a few leaves =) Thank You for sharing

  • i just got a Schefflera Arboricola and it kinda looks like this tree you have shown the leaves are the same but mine has a vary strate trunk rate now and i was tould that it should start to have roots growing like the one you have its not vary big but it looks good and healthy id send you a pic but i dont know how un less you have e male or something or i could make a vid but plz reply thanx ans great vid you remind me of my dad lol and sorry for the spelling :)

  • I laughed soo hard when you knocked the plant over xD

  • is this related to the Hawaiian Umbrella or is this the same thing?

  • I just know it as an Australian Umbrella tree. Don't know if it's the same thing.

  • I'm pretty sure that is a hawaiian schefflera arboricola. The Australian Brassaia actiniophylla has large long drooping leaves.

  • @grannynappster It's probably a seperate ganus or whatever, but its definitely a schefflera, they're essentially the same, different parts of the world, shouldn't be very different at all as far as growing. i plan on getting on soon!

  • what about el bonsai

  • Yo jerry You are amazing Thanks!!!I realy mean it. I love you man. Thanks For the Pods. I learn so much from them By just watching you and experimenting with mines..

  • also, as much as i hate to show what a novice i am, what is swagland moss, or whatever it is you're always using, and where would i get some? then you use a different type for the top layer, which type is this? i probly need more babying than a petite bonsai, hopefully your pastime has given you enough patience to help me grow into a beautiful bonsai-ist. as you can see, i do love puns.

  • Careful on the hobby you're getting into, before you know it, you'll be in over your head, and Bonsai because a pretty bad addiction. Jerry's using "Sphagnum Moss" which is generally available at any green house in your local area or even Lowe's and Home Depot during the Spring and Summer months. Check out a book called, "Bonsai Techniques I" and "Bonsai Techniques II" by John Yoshio Naka. Those books are like the holly grail of Bonsai Culture for most.

  • Also, in regards to a "good tree for beginners". It sounds like you may want to try starting out with a tropical tree for indoors. The hardy trees are meant to be outside all of the time because of their need for having a "dormancy" (leaves fall off, sap flow slows way down, and tree hybernates). One very diverse starter tree may be a Chinese Elm as they are very forgiving and can live indoors or outdoors. They also give a very "aged look" after not a whole lot amount of time.

  • One way you can learn a lot more about the art of Bonsai is to see if you have a Bonsai Club in your local area. A lot of metropolitan areas will have a group of people who gather once a month or so to go the various aspects of the culture and art form. You can pick up a lot of information on soil, styling, pruning, shaping, and a vast amount of other knowledge. You have a lot to learn that could take a lifetime but this is one of the most relaxing hobbies to have in my opinion. Good luck.

  • it is addicting haha. I love it! Iam new at it and getting better. I use sphagnum moss aswell because Of Jerry I don't use Wires Its a easy Methos Bonsai. Haha I love it. Some died on me But I learn from them and I know why they died.

  • really liked the vid, looks like im commenting on an old vid but i hope you still reply. im new to bonsai and would like to make a tree from a cutting (which your Jade video helped me with). I would like to kno what a good tree would be for me to begin with, and to give you an idea of my climate/region I live in Kansas, which is hot in summer and cold in winter so i'll need a hardy tree. i'll be very grateful to any reply. thanks and keep makin vids, they've helped me and many more i'm sure.

  • Wow incredible plant! haha - I love how you corrected those that corrected you!

  • 4:29 i like it.. ur fast.. hahahaha.. is that family of ficus?

  • the comment below- i accidentally clicked the spame button, sorry

  • just so you know not to be mean but banzai was a war cry that the japanese used in ww2. it ment 10,000 years, im not sure but it means something like that.

  • Banzai is spelled differently than bonsai. They are two different words with two different meanings. Try using a dictionary' Thanks.

     Jerry

  • Couldnt we jsut call them tray plants? so we dont make people angry at us?

  • Thyey are bonsai. They could also be called tray plants if you wish. Same thing.

  • ROTFLMAO at 4:30 !! Lawlz
