Runkleforskin your a douchebag wat kinda truck do u own a 2.5 Toyota 2wd fuckoff asshole if you don't like it don't watch you fuckin butt pirate bitch
@jeremiah0bobbiejo actually the i6 lower end torque is much greater which is good for hauling and towing, the v6 gas more torque at like... 4000 rpm, but u shouldnt runa it that high anyway
You outta try finding a kit for the rest of the ground-effects that'll fit the style-side box. Also, what series is your FM exh? I have an original flow40 on mine, single in and out and it's a higher more enginy pitch than yours. Judging by the wheel spin you may wanna invest in a LSD too for some more fun. Great job fixing her up!!! Thanks for posting the vid!
Dude!!!...I got a 2002 F150 4.2 L v6 too....exactly like yours (but cardinal red) same set up! your vid made me feel like I was driving in Chattanooga TN. too cool dude! Mines a 5 speed too with K&N filter and a Magnaflo catback exhaust...soon to have Hooker headers...nice video dude!
Nice setup and sweet sound! Question for 4.2l owners. On a stock 2003 4.2l 4x2, (rwd, not 4x4) w/ 5 speed manual trans ,what is the gear ratio? Oh yeah 255/70 on 16's, if that helps. Ive heard of 3.00 and 3.55 gears but not sure what mine has. thanks in advance, have fun and stay safe!!!
I have the xl 4.2 and had a cherryu bomb a foot past the cats. now I cut it off so its just a foot of pipe after the 4 cats. has anyone ever heard of blowin valves or anything thaty way? p.s. sweet bumper kid
The best shift points for a 4.2 to go fast are: 1st to 2nd at 4000, 2nd to third at 3100, and 3rd to 4th at 2900.. You really don't need 5th to go fast. It slows you down up until you get to a cruising speed.
nice truck. we had an '03 with the 5.4 and a super cab, but we just sold it for a new one. sold it to my cousin though and it is still totally stock and runs like new. our new '07 f-150 5.4 and our newer '08 f-150 4.6 are both great. the little 4.6 v-8 has tons of power. the new '09s are dropping the v-6 and manual transmissions, because sales were like 1 percent for the current model.
hey dude i have a 4.2 v6 also, nice sounding truck i went with magnaflows instead, but my main questions is what rpm do you shift at because i have never fig. out what rpm is red lind?
I shift by feel, if I wind out a gear then shift and loose some speed then i missed my shift point by a little bit, kind of funny how these trucks dont come with an rpm gage or shift light but theyre fun to drive. Ive got a green 2000 4.2
I also have an '06 with the 4.2 5 speed, and mine came factory with a tach. Comparing the truck in the vid and mine, I would say he was staying in the 2000-4000rpm range. Thats where the 4.2 makes most of its torque. As for the redline Im not sure either, but the rpm-limiter kicks in at 5250rpm on my truck.
That a lightning bumper? Also, what type of flowmasters? Is it true-dual? I'd like to know, I really like the sound you're getting.

I like the old 300 too, but its not even close to the 4.2 horsepower and torque.

When mine was stock it had 3.55 gears before I switched to 4.10's. I wish I would have went with 3.73 gear ratio
ericgrau123 1 year ago
@ericgrau123 Thanks for the info! How big of a difference was the 4.10 compared to the 3.55? Was it geared to low or to high for you?
perfectlylonely327 1 year ago
Too low for racing anyway. but awesome for towing
