@downeyb I made them. I wanted to have the effect of fluorescent ligths and regular lamps, For the incandescent lights (places like the street, the internal homes, etc) I used 12V micro lamps. They are quite cheap, For the fluorescent lights (in places like the police, commercial buildings and hospital) I used white LEDs (3V with 470 ohms resistors) all connected to a 12V power supply. There is a micro switch (20 positions) to allow the commands for the lights in eatch level in each building.
@eduardotanaka once again, I really love the effect. The fluorescent effect is spot on. I will be going a step farther and for interior living areas I will be trying to make a warmer yellowish light and in others a flickering blue/white light to represent a television playing.
@downeyb nice!, me the link when it is upped. the flickering blue is a very good idea. It will require some additional circuiting to add an oscilator I think but it is good call. Flashing lights also would be nice if you have some stores, police, medical, fire department to emulate the warning lights and store front adds.
@fan38080 There is a nice HD review of the 7498 Police Station at the Brick show chanel, search it as brickshowtv Police Station 7498 . I personally liked it a lot. It had lots of windows including curved windows. It also has a bike and a dog with a new print pattern. It is expensive but I think it is worthwhile as it is very flexible.
@fan38080 Sorry, misunderstood you before. I will make a proper review when I have some time. Basically it has around 1500 pieces, 4 floors, 17 minifigures, 2 police cars, 2 dogs and 1 horse. It is lit by 18 LEDs and micro-lamps. The floors include a garage with 2 roll up doors, 1 prison floor, 1 tatical center and the last is the superhero floor with batman, spiderman, green arrow a WWF kind of guy and the police chief. It also has a working elevator and an helipad on top.
@fan38080 It is a MOC using the parts of 2 police station kits (#7498). I just wanted a modern looking building in the city with lots of glass windows :)
This is my favorite lighting job done to a lego set I have seen so far! I want to mimic this, did you make the lights or buy them?
