  • I have a question, How do you get fixed winged in OA's CTI mode? I've been hearing that you need to capture an airport(impossible), and I've been hearing that when you scroll there is an options mode where you can upgrade factories to make the aircraft factory produce fixed winged planes(doesn't exist). I could really use your help here, I've been stumped for about a week now, if you could help it would be great.

  • @Strawn11 Did you ever find this out? IVe been looking for an hour now and cant upgrade to get fixed wing craft.

  • that's all fine and dandy, but how do I create new groups to command? I only know how to assign new units to an existing group, but if the group is destroyed I'm left with separate units in my regular command queue. it's damn annoying

  • hi, i want to play as commander on Editor, and play commanding Germany army and supported by US soldiers, my question is this: why everytime i use High command Tab, i can control all Blufor Unit on battlefield? i want only to control about 4-5 group, not all blufor.

    can somebody help?

  • Mr. ARMA2official,

Love Arma2 last year, love OA and BAF this year!

Keep up the good games ^0^V

  • I dislike the run/walk animation with pistol or no weapon but i love this game so its no biggy.. Haha

  • Looks good but i don't think i will ever use this feature sorry.

  • i want this game so bad!

  • You guys could still make the NATO icons look better lol

  • I am soooo kicking myself for not already having this installed! With the high level command it looks like Total War! (I just got Napoleon, because so many of my friends play it. Waste of time / effort! *grin*)

  • All of you guys interested in this game should visit cfarma2.com

This is a very tactical community-tournament where you can play large scale battles up to 60 vs 60 players! All you need is the game and you can sign up for free!

  • hey arma dude for OA do i need the arma 2 for the usmc/or other arma 2 troops? or do i need arma 2?

  • @Airleech300 Hello, OA is featuring US Army, Arma 2 is featuring USMC. If you want to play USMC in Takistan you need to buy Arma 2 as well.

But ask the local retail stores for Arma 2: Combined Operations - it's a collection of both games and you can safe some money.

  • i dont know about you guys but i am getting annoying lags even in lowest setting

    specs: i7 920 Ati Radeon HD 4830 4gig ddr3 evga x58 sli mb

  • @towch1 Hello, can you please post the view distance you are using + the OS + more facts (lags in open terrain, or in large MP battles in cities with lots of AI,... ?)

    Many thanks

  • @ARMA2official

Hello, i was wondering if you could tell me the specs and type of card you have that you are using for this video. Thanks

  • @groovyme12

    It's a GTX260.

Their using a dedicated capture card. No FRAPS bogging down the system.

  • @towch1 Don't hate me for this, but for the long haul I'd suggest getting another stick of DDR3 and going for RAM Disk. I'm /convinced/ that's gold.

  • @towch1 I'm not suprised.... your gpu is your bottleneck

  • is it any different from the arma 2 module?

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead does not require the original Arma 2, but upgrades it with the latest features and improvements:

why does no other weapon have flir scopes/laser pointers aside from the OA weapons (ie the scar only..) its the ultimate simulator etc etc but i cant have US marines battling with their M16's with laser pointers... scar or nothing...

  • Awesome:) will there be any new ArmA 2 expantions in the future ?

  • High Command is great, and so is the game. Rock on BIS. :)

  • Mr. ARMA2official,

Do you use 30 FPS or 50+ @ Fraps settings for recording?

  • @z0nt21 Hello, all videos are captured using external DeckLink card (Fraps is slowing the performance). Settings are (as far as I know) 25fps, 1280x720p.

This way our PC can use all its power for game, the recording itself is handled by DeckLink card.

  • Wait if you cannot play this game on full with a i7 920 then how do developers design it if a i7 cannot even play this at fullest? Do they use a Extreme?

  • @shadowhunter388 As explained by bizibiz, our videos are captured with much smaller view distance. You can set up the game up to 10km view, unfortunately in this case you are moving with 10x10 km of realistic evironment. Try to set up closer view distance.

The visible distance (to see details on human size character) in real world is like 200-400m

You can easily play with 1,5-2km view distance in the game. The power of Arma 2 is the open environment, you can go everywhere without limitation.

  • @ARMA2official Thank you for replying, So if I believe what you are telling me is that when you max out the view distance it takes out detail? I was saying how developers make the game with super high graphics when today's fastest processor (i7) cannot run it on max? Maybe I am wrong. Oh by the way are you guys developers of the game? Thanks for the reply though :D I got my copy of OA, its awesome :D

  • @shadowhunter388 No, not exactly :) The map (Takistan) has about 12x12 km. If you set up your view distance on 10 km, than your PC has to handle almost whole map with all objects, action, citizens, animals, units, terrain etc in real time.

It's an option - you can play with 1 km view distance on all details highest, or on 4 km view distance with all on high/medium etc etc, it's really up to you what you prefer. It's not a corridor map with predefined 500x300m levels. And that's the difference.

  • @shadowhunter388 BTW here are the specs we do use to capture these videos: Intel Core Duo E8600 @ 3,33GHz 4096MB RAM GeForce GTX 260 Windows 7 Pro 64-bit Game settings: Visibility dist. - 3500m +- (4000 while flying, 2000+ on ground) Screen/3D res. - 1280x720px Texture det. - Very high Video mem. - Default (max. available) Antialias. - Low Terrain det. - High Object det. - High Shadow det. - High Postprocess - low Visibility dist. - 3500-5000m
  • @ARMA2official Thank you :D Now the Intel Core Duo E8600 is a dual core right?

  • @shadowhunter388 yes, it's dual core processor :)

  • @ARMA2official This is going to sound stupid but I am just making sure. Now, If I buy a quad core card like a i5 or something and it says @ 3,05Ghz would it still be faster then the processor you have? Thank you guys :D

  • @ARMA2official Wow I got a 2.1 and mine is horrible lol, I think that is because of the resolution. Thank you guys I am probably going to look for a pc with specs like that :D

  • @shadowhunter388 Hello, Arma 2 are very complex games with huge open maps (like 225 square km). You can go everywhere, do anything you want and the world is living area with NPCs etc.

You can also set up your own visible range (up to 10km). Such an open world and possibilities cost the HW performance. You need to test the FPS with visible range etc. Please note, that while playing with 10km view distance you move with almost whole map in real time!

  • this vid are not made with 4km view, but near 1.5 ~ 2 km distance view

4km view is much enough for flying, but from ground position, 1.5 ~ 2 km view is largely enough to ensure good deep field.

And this vid is a singleplayer video, multiplayer always "lagging", Arma is not a super action game like COD.

  • @bizibiz +1

  • Well.... maybe it's time to tell us what computer spec you are using for making this video?? Because i have never seen arma2 run so perfect and lag free. So please tell us what hardware you are using..

  • @SXA000

one of their videos has the specs in the comments somewhere.

    It's a Dual-core + GTX 260. I can't remember the exact details.

  • @SXA000 Hello, the specs are: Intel Core Duo E8600 @ 3,33GHz 4096MB RAM GeForce GTX 260 Windows 7 Pro 64-bit Game settings: Visibility dist. - 3500m +- (4000 while flying, 2000+ on ground) Screen/3D res. - 1280x720px Texture det. - Very high Video mem. - Default (max. available) Antialias. - Low Terrain det. - High Object det. - High Shadow det. - High Postprocess - low Visibility dist. - 3500-5000m
  • @ARMA2official Wait so your pc specs is a dual core?

  • Deaf people who use the subtitles will be like o_o "WTF!"

  • Buy SSD disc if you want run ArmA smooth.

  • Great video. I hope more of these are still on the way. :D

  • Damn I wish my game's graphics looked like that. Would a i7 run this at highest?

  • @shadowhunter388 I have a i7 920 @stock and cannot run this game at max lol.

  • @Masher8559 lol I have a Q6600 and a gtx 260 and I can run everything very high and over 5km viewdistance stutter-free xD

    Something must me wrong :/

  • @klbrumann I'm sure if i overclock it i will get better results.. but at 2.67GHz and with a GTS 240 i can only run most things on normal. with 4000 view distance

  • @Masher8559 Unless you're flying, 4k viewdistance is overkill as hell..

  • @klbrumann really? What is your FPS and what anstroscopic

  • @Masher8559 Serious :(. Maybe a i7 Extreme, Do you have a good gfx

  • LOOL.. if you use the translation to english BETA-feature, from 00:28 on it says :" we're going to take a look at some important features continue to come under the large numbers of units using the condom....Clinton on moneyline" :D:D:D

  • @Gario92 Command!!! you twat English accent not american

  • great video, as always! :)
