  • I love blue jays! But how do you keep the squirrels away?

  • JAAAAAYYYY!!!

  • That blue jay eatin up all those peanuts! Damn nature - you scary! lol

  • They love peanuts

  • hahaha @ the little hop for taking off.

  • I love the Blue Jay. Such an intelligent bird. This video was really nice. Thanks for sharing.

  • @LanaV6 - You're welcome - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Bluejays are awesome - we don't get them very often, but I love when they jump in front of the camera!

  • Are the ones with the greyish bodies younger ones? You got a lot of those.

  • @SonicAndNiGHTS - The ones with the less impressive color are the males I believe - the females are more striking than the males are, although I could be wrong on that (although Googling that comes up with no real answer to that) - I have another video on my channel of a Bluejay couple gathering nesting materials, one is less colorful than the other - check out "Bluejay Nesting Season" on my channel if you'd like to see that one.

  • I put out peanuts, but no one's taken them yet!

  • @SonicAndNiGHTS - No other animals have taken them either? A lot of backyard animals eat peanuts, including a lot of birds...

  • No one wants them even though we have squirrels, chipmunks, and bluejays.

  • that bluejay's so cute like corvid bird families like crows, ravens, and magpies

  • @poopybooyah - Yep! It's also interesting to note that all of those birds are classified as "songbirds"!

  • i love birds cause i am one

  • @jaydunford - :)

  • There's one in my yard that pecks one of my cats on the butt

  • @rydag11 - Ha! Nice - :)

  • Love the jays! They are a riot. One of my favorites. Great pic! I love those sounds they make that are described by some as "the squeaky pump handle" call. They are very, very clever. I bet he could tell from the weight which peanut was heavier and had either more or bigger peanuts in it. Birds are very shrewd.

  • @Arianbwa - I do too! I love seeing them up-close, I haven't had the chance to catch one on video like this in almost 4 years now! I'm sure they could tell the difference - jays usually take the un-shelled peanuts before the bigger ones, maybe because they want a quicker meal? They're definitely shrewd!

  • i enjoy how all the birds put that first peanut in there mouth then dropped it and picked up another haha

  • I think it was trying to see how large of a nut the first one had... not really sure - but it is cool! :)

  • I love on there site, how you can mix & match which seeds you want to purchase. So i've got quite a blend going on, for my birds. Everything from; Oil & Striped Sunflower, Hulled Sunflower, Finch mix, Safflower, Shelled peanuts, & Cracked corn. Plus a hanging suet cage off the birdfeeder itself, with peanut cakes in them completes the menu. So to say the birds go nuts, "pardon the pun", would be a gross understatement.......lol But they deserve the best, i feel. Keep up the great vids.........:)

  • Hehe... I agree on the "deserve the best" with the birds! Even with the gulls I feed, I don't just throw anything out at them, I want it to be (somewhat :)) nutritious for them! I'm glad you liked the video, I've got more coming (including a gull one!) but I need to get some time to edit them first...

I'm kind of confused about what site you're talking about though - which site lets you mix and match the seeds?

  • Nice - what happened to the peanut under the plastic?

  • Thanks - I'm pretty sure a squirrel got it, but I'll have to go back and check the video...
