I actually don't like this scrub top pattern/style (it's not fitted and the pocket on the chest is awkward for me. I prefer 2 pockets at the bottom with a more tailored/fitted look) HOWEVER you're creation has given me an idea on how to make my favorite Grey's Anatomy style scrub tops so THANK YOU =) Very helpful! I'll be checking out your scrub bottoms video next =)
Good video. I've made ~2 dozen. If you have a scrub top that fits, you can use it as a pattern. Cut out a front, a back, 3 pockets, wide strip for the front neckline & a small strip for the back of the neck. Fold over, stitch the top edge of the pockets. Align bottom two with bottom of garment. Sew on the pockets and the neck line of the front and back. Then sew the front and back together, then press under the bottom edge on the front and back. Sew. Press over & sew slits. Have fun! :)
This is amazing! Thank you so much, scrubs are so darn expensive. This was really easy to do, and easy to build off if you want to try to do different patterns together on the top. Thank you!
@ally42483 I really cant believe you all r still on this! you have nothing better to do wit ur life do u? guess not...didnt know u had to speak FUCKING proper english on a youtube comment! wow! Get a fucking life...got damn! Fuckers cant take criticism I feel bad for u in the real word...hows this for proper english...GET OFF MY NUTS!
@pandora2578....How was I rude, I just voiced my opinion, if you dont want people opinion DONT FUCKING POST VIDEOS....I dont fucking care if I was rude...u want me to be ruder? That shit was Fucked up, and she wore it...Who cares what u think...ur just kissing her ass...not sure why!
@cnwms21 Starting off sentences with Yeah; then launching into your comments is rude, not to mention poor English. She said this was a DIY shirt pattern she made for her boyfriend's mom. You're calling it unprofessional...of course it is! She's not a professional. However, she cared enough to try.
very nice video, you did a good job. I have been looking for free patterns for scrubs and this is the only thing i have found. ty for putting it on you tube.
How to make a layered dress hosted by my two ducks ! Please come see it, it's my first video and I really want to help people make their own clothes like KaymmelF did to me ! Thanks in advance and hope you'll like it !
Yeah this was a nice concept but you need a little practice at the neck! Your neck looks nothing like a real scrub shirt. Try buying a real scrub shirt and follow the concept and your shirts will be great. To me this scrub shirt looks cheap and unprofessional.
in case you are blind, that was a young girl doing this video and not a professional seamstress. i think your comment was rude and uncalled for. she did a great job and shes the only one ive seen ever post anything on how to make scrubs for free, everyone else wants money for a pattern. so she helped people on top of having fun. so before you come off with some rude ass comment again maybe you should try doing something besides sitting on your butt judging others work.
i got to make my sister one soon and i found this. its really healpful but then when you cut the v part of the neck it looks a little too wide like ir showing off too much of the shoulder. but good job it looks like the real ones.
I'm sorry, I can't imagine making these "hillbilly" scrubs for people and taking pride in admitting that I did. I was looking for someone who sews with a real working pattern so when you make scrubs for someone and then when they want another one in a different pattern, you'll have no problem in getting it done and consistant in the fitting. NOBODY probably wanted to hurt your feelings at Christmas. I'm sure this would make a great paint shirt for an elementary schools art class.
THANK YOU Sooo much... I have clinicals soon and I went to the Scrub shop, and I had to order them because I was too small, so I thought hey I could make my own, and I discovered you. :D I was going to buy a pattern, but I have no need now. I would add more pockets, but otherwise it's great. Thank You <3 (You should think about selling your items, Ebay maybe, sell requests maybe too.)
I'm glad this helps you. Especially sometimes when you order stuff it can be more expensive. I actually was thinking about selling clothes in the future (as like a side job). Thanks for the encouragement :]
lol the point of me making videos is to teach people how to make their own clothes. If I just sent away clothes then it would be defeating the purpose XD
That's really cute! When I become a doctor in the future I can design my own scrubs. :) where did you get 3 yards of fabric for only $5? When I buy fabric from Joanns it's 3- 5 dollars at least for just one yard.
No problem :) Do you go to school for it? A fun school to go to would be like The Art Institute of (wherever skool is near your area) i wanted to go there but i don't have the creativeness for it but you definitly do. And from there you can work your way up to Project Runway and then maybe a Fashion Designer :)
I love how you did the sleeves! You make it look so simple and easy :) I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to cut and sew sleeves onto tops/dresses? I always struggle doing those
