  • this is excellent...but I was wondering why he doesn't place the pieces in their correct positions? That's probably the advanced class for 2 year olds!

  • I love the little hearts on her dress.

  • OOmmmg! So cute!

    Can I quote her?

    "Horsieeee!" - Cute girl

  • liked the long dramatic pause for the last one

  • That is the cutest chess video I've ever seen!

  • Lmao when she said "hossy" I thought of another word...

  • @Ben7Roethlisberger You made me laugh - I was going to write that same comment!

  • DID U FORGET A KING???

  • That is very cute!

  • too funny and too cute. lol keeeeen lol

  • she's so cute!! i love the cheeks..

  • I see the next Judit Polgar.

  • Wow, now there's the best compliment a player could offer. Thank you!

  • Very cute :-)

  • Verrrrrrry cute! And I get dibs on voicing the documentary :-)

  • I watched this video multiple times. It is so cute to see the little girl saying the names of the pieces. KEEEEEN! :)

Please upload more videos so we can track her progress. How about a blog with weekly news? I can see it now... a documentary following her chess development from 2 to 18 years old.

It wasn't possible to do a documentary like this when Susan Polgar was growing up, but now, the technology is so accessible... More parents would be inspired to teach their kids how to play chess.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and comment. We're working on an ecourse which can teach any parent to teach any child of any age to play chess. Right now we are piloting the course and it is going well. Part of the process also involves teaching the parents along the way, as many don't know the game.

I love your idea of a documentary!

  • Genius is in part taught. Excellent job at raising more intelligent humans. Strategy and the ability to think critically is certainly important in dealing with the tyranny of the world government and irrefutable corruption. We need more wisdom as well! Don't push them to join the millitary, NSA, or CIA etc... please! We need more peaceful genius in this world. Teach them art and music as well as mental judo. Encourage them to be cerebrally well balanced humans.

  • She's Adorable!!

  • Not really teaching her how to play, just to memorize the names of the pieces.

  • Actually learning the names of the pieces is the first step in teaching chess to a child (or anyone for that matter). We are creating ecourses designed to teach parents and educators to teach very young children to play. We are currently piloting this program with 25 parents and it is going very well. The whole trick to teaching chess is to make each step very easy and doable. This makes lessons enjoyable. Start with the names of the pieces and go from there!

  • Awesome! Chess almost guarantees the children will go on to college. The USCF has tournamments monthly.

I had spent a year and a half at my local library teaching chess to children, when one day the librarian took notice of me. Instead of getting to know me, she simply assumed "nobody is that kind". "He must be a perv." And banned me for life!

  • It´s a queen!! Queen?? LOL

  • "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

    — Benjamin Franklin: Founding Father of the United States of America

Chess is a good investment in creativity and thinking skills. These two are on the right track.

  • Aww, so cute!

  • wow !! :-) you`re kids are so smart and cute at such a young age .

I which somebody taught me about chess at such an age then maybe i would have been more successfull in life hahaha .

  • Thanks for sharing that, Laura--it really shows that you don't need to be 'old enough' to do something to do it anyway!

  • Yeah I hate when people learn I've taught my son chess and they think I'm looking for genius. He plays a sound seven year old game. It's good for him. -- Love kids teaching each other. That's so important.

  • Yes, people can have the wrong impression and think that chess players must be geniuses. Really it is all about study, application and perseverance.

    Thanks for writing!

  • Good teacher and great student..

  • Our future is secure - let genius children be geniuses! Kathy and Charles Perry

  • Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Our whole purpose with Your Chess Coach is to help the next generation build those problem solving skills. Really one doesn't need to be a genius to play chess. It just takes dedication! I hope to encourage other parents to teach their kids too!
