El único uruguayo que se que jugó en la NASL por esa época fue Pepe Fernandez para Los Ángeles Toros. Tab Ramos vino como una década después con las olimpiadas del 84.

  • were??!!??

  • 0:34 is that messi O___o!

  • @sa3ad

    No.

  • @IamXboxGamer he looks like him of course that not messi :P

  • Although Messi is amazing, there is something about Brazilians like Ronaldinho and Pele that make them more special.

Not only were they amazing players but they also seemed to have a smile on their face the whole time and some of their tricks were just for fun.

They showcased football in a more beautiful way that Messi does

  • yes yes yes yes i got the fucking chills!!

  • was that george best at 2:06?

  • @soterios11 No, but Best did play in the NASL for a little bit with the LA Aztecs, Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, and San Jose Earthquakes.

  • Most well know athlete in the world!

  • I am glad Pele is trying to restore soccers glory in America by reviving the Cozmos not only home to the king of soccer Pele, but also Beckenbauer the kaiser of soccer, a beautiful combo :)

  • i bet he chose the cosmos cause they had Brasils colors

  • @24inchPythons On the contrary. The Cosmos chose those colors so they could get Pele. It worked. :)

  • Pelé=Michael Jordan=Baby Ruth=Payton Mannig

  • Pele and USA what a GREAT COMBO!!! i wish i saw that!!

  • @pentacampeaoful yeah me too

  • Nice video, but why do people keep saying 'rare footage' when it's anything but? Most of this comes from a very famous documentary.

  • how do you spell dahoki1? P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C F-A-G

    long live Pele!

  • @dahoki1 On every single Pele video ive seen, u commented, trying to to prove that Pele was bad.. Dude, seriously, shut the fuck up. U don't know anything, and no matter how hard you try, only .99% of pll wil agree with you.

  • In the football (soccer) history there was many incredible players that became legends of the sport at Pelé's time and before it, including from his team Santos FC. By the way, Pelé is not a lonely football (soccer) legend on his country, Brazil. But he had overcame all of them for he was the best indeed, and continually during more than a decade. Congratuations thy King!

  • Amazing intro man + song

  • 2:07 joga na frente que é sucesso!

  • OMG, this is awesoooooome!!

  • I actually had the opportunity to shake his hand in 1988. what an experience Bay Tournament. Inter 1

  • video was well done

  • Pele, The Best 4 ever!!!

  • fatball sucks is the worst sport ever pele should go to a cuntry where they dont play pathetic sports

  • The New York Cosmos could still be around today and a dominant Soccer Club had the NASL been better managed

  • C.Ronaldo's best looks foolishly compared to Pele's worst, Pele the true king

  • "Pele was a phenomenon. A genius. Those who compare him with other players are stupid."

"for me the best player in the world is Di stefano. Pele is not from this world"

    -Ferenc Puskas

  • at least they don't play on astroturf or have stupid rules anymore

  • Pele: best player ever. No questions asked. Nice video. Thanks!

  • He played most of his soccer in brazil. It was only the final years of his career that he played in USA. He won the world cup 3 times and that is why he is the king.

  • @CHRISTOPHERbernardo yeah, you're right, he won 3 world cups. But, I just thinking about the fact that the best football player had to play in the most difficult, proffesional and spectacular league. I think that is logical. Bye.

  • @luchokc ,

that would make a lot of sense if brazilian leagues back then were weak. Yeah, because Brazil won 3 WC in 4 Pelé played... with players like Rivelino, Tostão, Gerson, Garrincha, Nilton Santos, etc. They also played in Brazil. And clubs in Brazil were used to bang top european clubs on friedly matches.

  • @CHRISTOPHERbernardo soccer?? its football go play baseball

  • @CHRISTOPHERbernardo Pele may be the king of soccer, but Maradonna is the God of football. The end

  • @poontang3zizo

fuck maradonna he's a fat coke head pele is the god of god's......

  • @luchokc Pele played for Brazil, which won 5 world cups...how many has mexico or whatever pathetic nation you're from won?

  • @JakeDcc85 jajaja... A fucking yankee is talking about football, what do you know about futbol MF?... you don't know anything... If I am from mexico or whatever I know much more about futbol than you. Los latinos si sabemos de futbol porque lo jugamos hijo de puta, tu eres un pobre negro-americano que no sabe ni mierda, ignorante de mierda... povero coglione, figlio di putta, pezzo di merda.

  • @JakeDcc85 Oh you're gonna call me a yankee? Dont blame me because your country sucks at futbol. Brazil is numero uno in futbol, fuck latinos.

  • @JakeDcc85 jajajaja... first, you have to lear how to write in spanish... pobre huevon, limitado de mierda, vai a farti dare nel culo figlio della gran mignotta.

  • @luchokc that little you know about Peles career?! he scored less than 100 goals for Cosmos and played there when he was 35-37, and about 1200 for brazil and santos. whenever he played against EUROPEAN teams he demolished them. ask eusebio, mazzola, riva, charlton...

  • @luchokc America is the grave yard for great soccer players of Europe and Latin America. When those players are getting ready for retirement, is when they land in the US soccer league. He was there from the age of 35-37 when he played in the US. And you can see how horrible the players are in this video....jajajajajaja

  • @luchokc You're a dick ...

  • @Heidibear76 Yeahh, I'm a big one, fucking retard...

  • @luchokc You haven't heard of Pele? Have you considered trying out for the circus?

  • @baboon2525 ¿?

  • take some soccer history classes before talkin shit about the best soccer player ever

  • @luchokc do you not like franz beckanbauer either

  • A 2:30 il decoupe un gars qui lui a fait un rateau. (marsh?)

  • they should bring this franchise back if they expand to more teams

  • wow !! Im shocked ! Watch on 2:33 how the "king" also "lifted" this guy up from the ground and never even apologized, never seen that before. and I grew up watching this guy thru 60's and seventies..well I guess it happens and he had his share of fouls committed against him no doubt. still the greatest soccer player in the world.

  • lol at 2:19 he was smarter than everyone else

  • looks like the cosmos are coming back

  • the cosmos played in nj too... ny is too crowded for a stadium

  • I saw the goal at 2:28,I was there.

  • what's the name of this song?

  • first song is called undone by weezer and the second song is called music sounds better with you by stardust.

  • @CHRISTOPHERbernardo thanks dude this is classic

  • Pele was the best all around player in the history of football. I give George Best a close second place, but Pele, for sure the best... Franz Beckenbauer said that, too. The NASL went a bit too far, too fast. They tried to be like Europe. All these pro sports teams need to stop paying people millions/year and CEOs need to stop being payed that, too. Causes hyperinflation and the dollar to collapse!!

  • amazing video! If only Beckham or any of the other European stars could bring to the US the same excitement.

  • @Ruben2290

Beckham is not a football player in the same sense. He is a celebrity and very overated.

  • what can i say? hes the best! El Rey is unstoppable!

  • Nice vid!

  • the NASL is the last time soccer had any true significance in the U.S. The MLS is trying to revive it but itll be a long time till we get to that height ever again.

  • God bless you for posting this. It is so inspiring to watch.

  • If Pele' suited up today he'd be the best player for RedBull's.Sorry Juan Pablo.

  • When I watched this video I really got a sence of time and history, you realise what a Legend he really is/was.

  • what a goal 2.28 pele the legend !!

  • hey pele is awesome wats dat name of thath song

  • Awesome Video. Pele is the true king of soccer.

  • @oamop pele is king of football....... soccer is nothing!!!! Everywhere in the world name of the game is football, soccer is a real shity name for that beautiful game!!!!

  • The legend Edson Arantes de Nasciemento! Fire !

  • Great video!

  • wow lookin at this video bugs me out cause im only 17 years old but i played on the same field that this soccer icon has! and it hit me now watching this. i played in downing stadium (0.39-0.51 sec) it was crazy that was the field i played my games from the age of 7-11 for cosmopolitan league was shared with pele.... and now they broke it down and put some shit turf field that is already wearing out. this is just mindblowing. R.I.P Downing stadium

  • was he playing at mitchel field

  • back then the usa and soccer was the best. the nasl held the best attendance records for games in the 20th century. plus th 94' world cup in the USA had the highest attendance records so far.

  • Pelé got three world cups!!!

It's beter than to play in the Europe!!!

  • Just forgot to mention Pelé played in Brazil, not US. And for Santos FC he smashed european brazilian and south american top clubs, being 6-times national champion, 2 times continental champion, 2 times world club champion, champion of South American Recopa and World Recopa, etc.

By the way: with players from BRAZILIAN domestic league we won 3 World Cups in 4 Pelé played.

And he went to US league at age 35... Cruyff, Beckenbauer and George Best also played in US...

  • Pele may not have played in Europe, he won more titles with the clubs he played for than Maradona ever did. Plus his impact on the game remains far greater the Maradon's (a war was stopped to see him play).

  • sorry for my english

  • Oh my good there wasn't available tickets!

Ok we talk about Pele but IN AMAERICA!

The soccer(football) is the most popular sport in the world but in the USA it isn't but there werent available tickets i cant belive it.....

  • MLS should Bring back The New York Cosmos, But New York don't deserve to have another MLS team they don't even support the red bulls.

  • If the MLS brings another team to this city, it should be in a borough with a high percentage of inmigrats like Queens (latins) or Brooklyn (east europeans). Now they play at Giants stadium 30 min away from the city in the middle of nowhere

  • Metro Red Bulls are not in NY, that's why they don't get support from us. Thy don't even reach out to youth clubs in NY, so why would we go see them. Stay in the swamp NJ Bulls red.

  • who do you speak for. im from jersey and im probably more ny than you. cosmos played at Giants stadium and were still supportered. and red bulls have youth camps.

  • Youth camps is one thing, totally for their profit, and another thing is to work together with our NY City's Youth Soccer clubs in a coordial manner in the development of our area's young talent. The Reb Metro Bulls are never going to haveour support, as they have failed to reach out to our youth clubs in providing the minimal investment, as do the NBA, MLB, NFL Professional teams do in the communities. I am glad you have the Red Bulls to watch, I'll never buy into the MLS as pro soccer league.

  • New York doesn't have the Red Bulls, New Jersey does. I'm glad for that, cause they're not supporting our local youth clubs anyway. They're too selfish to give back to their supporting youth soccer community here in NY City

  • with that being told, i waant the cosmos to revive and kick red bulls ass.

  • well theyr called NY Rebulls though :D

  • @SoccerRuless Because they play in NEW JERSEY asshole!

  • wat was the song at the beggining?

  • its called undone and its by weezer

  • The one and only, KING Pele!!!!!!!!!

  • Cruyff smoked his ass every time they played! He's the only one in the NASL who gave him a workout ... did you see all the missed tackles in the clip?

  • What a machine.

  • Pele is the michael jordan of soccer..a matter of fact...michael jordan is the Pele of basketball

  • the king!!!!

  • This makes me realize how shitty soccer is in NY today compared to those days.

  • MLS2NYC

    Boroughboysnyc . com

  • pele, the eternal

  • 1.- Pele.

    2.- Maradona.

    3.- George Best.

  • nice job.

  • awesome.

  • pelé is PELÉ

  • What's the name of the song in the video, the second?

  • music sounds better with you by stardust

  • onceinalifetime-themovie

It is the movie about the NY Cosmos soccer club and it is realy good. Some of this pics are copied straight from the movie

  • What's the name of the song in the video?

  • awesome video!
