  • He's alright in a vacuum, but it's not the real thing by any stretch. The charisma is just not there, and the voice has very little power.

  • Wonderful performance. This is a Tribute to his father not an imatation of Frank. I saw this in Las Vegas and enjoyed every NOTE. Frank Sinatra is my all time favorite singer and although I missed seeing him in person this tribute was fantastic. His mom and sister were in the audiance;

  • has this guy any feeling at all? is he a robot ?

  • Long live the image and sound of the Master-Frank, Sr. Well done,Frankie ,Jr.

  • For the good of all things holy, please STFU about your expectations. He's not Frank Sinatra reincarnated so stop expecting the same exact person. He's a wondrerful singer and a decent performer regardless of who's shadow others put him in. Get the stick out of your poop shooter and enjoy the music. SHEESH.

  • nice but not the old blue eyes

  • You can hear beautiful colors in his voice! Nice singer! -- TONY RIZZI, Smooth Crooner MILL VALLEY CA 94942

  • No one will be like Ol' Blue Eyes.

    Or sound.

  • I don't understand why he's so polarizing. People leave either super positive comments or unfair negative ones.

  • sad

  • Jr. had way too Big of Shoes too fill~ He sounds good, just NO personaliaty.

  • Jr admittedly doesn't have Sr's charm and personality but Jr's voice is up to par. I say he's pretty good!

  • His voice reminds me of old american movies when i was little :D (i'm swedish) :D

  • Frank Sinatra Jr. is a damn good musician and very captivating performer, REGARDLESS of who's son he may or may not be. I would love to see this guy in concert.

  • stephen triffitt is the best sinatra performer out there by miles and miles. squint yr eyes and you thinks its old blue eyes reincarnated

  • What a waste of a good orchestra!! R.I.P Frank.

  • he has as good a voice as his father had although he needs a more forcefull delivery. he is outstanding

  • Show de bola, muito bom mesmo!!!

  • love it

  • not very good

  • Frank Sinatra is a real man singing his dad's songs his own way. We need his connection with what we love to hear. He is real and not an imposter singing Frank Sinatra songs. I love him.

  • Obviously, Frank Jr. sounds like his Dad, but his phrasing and story telling doesn't match up. Watch the real Frank sing (particularly in the 1950's) and he just brings the songs to life with emotion that connects to the soul. Nothing soulful about Frank Jr., but I like that he honors his father.

  • Raising your voice is not feeling!!!!

  • He has such an amazing voice is this on CD or DVD anywhere???

  • his dad, would be proud of him

  • Atomic flash, I agree. He just stands there. Having said that, I think he CLEARLY outsings his father.

  • sounds nothing like his dad. getting by from using his dads name cos he aint a singer

  • @fredorulz1 He's old!..Why don't you go watch Jr's old video's before you judge his music, he's a great singer He's not better than Frank Sr but hell who is!!?

Frank Jr looked & sounded just like his dad back in the day, So go listen to Green day or Justin beiber buddy ;))

  • @LiveFromUnderneath lol lol cheers mate. i grew up on this sort of music. i like green day though. doesnt change the fact he doesnt sound anything like his dad, even when he was younger. stephen triffitt sounds like his dad though. check him out if you want another sinatra. triffitt is the best out there by miles.

  • Sorry to say so, but I guess his father would be even more proud of him if he lost some weight.

  • @thomascrown997 At his age, who gives a shit, honestly.

  • He is a good singer but I think that he should have built his carrer doing something different, not under the shadow of his father. You may say: "he's doing a tribute" but I don't think so. Performing the same old songs his dad used to sing is just an impersonation and it is unavoidable to compare him whith his father. I think he has no personality, no charm, no charisma.

  • Not the best, not the worst.

  • isn't that William Shatner?

  • poor junior..can you imagine being the son of the worlds greatest singer....and you try to sing...

  • i understand what people are saying about him being... not as good as his dad. sinatra sr. put so much more into singing than any other singer in his lifetime in my opinion. if you listen to paul williams version of "for once in my life" versus sinatra jr at 1:40, you can see, he's putting nothing into it. it's just words with a nice voice.

  • he is is son but not the king frank was an icon nobody can be like him he is the king of music and everybody new it rip frank sinatra you will be missed for ever nice try franks son but not like daddy he had a way and a vioce

  • His father would be proud. And I think he is.

  • I have one of his albums. That Face. It's really a fantastic compilation of songs. He has impeccable taste. Just not impeccable vocal ability. And why he insists on doing the same songs, in the same style, with the same arrangements, and keeps putting himself in that position to be compared to his father I'll never understand.

  • fablous as his dad!!!!

  • He has no emotion and his vibrato and voice is weak. It's gotten worse with age.

  • absolutly, this guy is no singer he has no emotion. its just awful. plus he hasn't missed any meals he's about to burst out of that suit.boy this is really embaressing

  • Not bad at all!

  • @justgabriel He is embarrassing. No voice no charisma, hE MUST BE HARD UP FOR A FEW BUCKS

  • @nellie1912 well..the guy loves music..and he isnt much worse then all the other singers that pass for talent...he suffers because his name is Sinatra..who doesnt when compared to Francis Albert?

  • @JadeTomZ I agree with much of what you have said, sure he suffers because of who he is and forever will live in that shadow but I would also argue if it wasn't for that very surname nobody would even have heard of him. Frank had charisma and could sell a song even if he had to talk it which he did on many occasions check out sr's version of Love has been good to me and you will see what i mean about not having a note sung but still passing it off beautifully.

  • Awesome!!!

If you like this please also make sure to check out 20 year old crooner JAMES DEFRANCES!!! Do a quick youtube search for him and you will be amazed!

  • He is Frank's son but he isn't FRANK.

  • he also was Frank Sr musical director from 88 til his father's death

He's got his own musical credits

great guy and a great musician

  • I've been a lifelong fan of SInatra "pere" and I can honestly say, the son is a clone of his father in the sense that if you closed your eyes and listened, it's all Frank, Sr. He's copied the style, even much of the stagecraft. His voice is not unpleasing in the least.

Neither of them have/had big voices but the old man could phrase and sell a song like no other band singer. The kid's got his father's moves down cold. Not altogether a bad thing.

  • @flylooper I think the son sounds better than his father...

  • @flylooper what on earth are you and the other people listening to??? sounds nothing like his old man, nothing at all. in fact if it wasnt for the fact that he was sinatra's son he would never have been heard of at all. his dad could sing, the son cant. the nearest person who sounds like sinatra is a guy called stephen triffitt. now he does sound and look like frank snr. in fact he shouldve been frank seniors son. you tube him and you will see what im going on about. leaves the son for dead.

  • @flylooper yr deaf as well as blind. feel sorry for you mate.

  • Frank Sinatra Junior is also quite talented in his own right for directing and arranging music, by various composers

  • he sounds exactly like his father just his father's voice was slightly deeper

  • Hes great...I saw him in Tulsa last week...Amazing...real talent

  • He's got talent, he's got the phrasing and timing. He is a very good singer. But God didn't give him his fathers pipes! It must be very difficult to sing in his father's shadow, but who would be any more equipped than Frank Jr.?

  • Junior is no Senior...

  • I used to think that he was lacking in the voice quality and that was because of comparison to his dad. But it appears that he is now very very good and we should be glad that we have this inherited talent for us to enjoy. Please keep singing......

  • his timing is good and voice is not impressive. he dose have faint echos of his dad. it must be hard but i understand that people are longing for the real thing. but for me this does not cut it. although i do respect FSjr.

  • i agree in the emotions in his shows

    BUT

the sing his fathers songs, and that in a good way, shows that he just loves his father

if u wouldnt love your father and he died, would you sing for him?

  • he actually got 3 albums by himself

  • Junior seems to have more of the Tenor range at this point than his father did. But so what? Father and Son alike have a command of the music.

  • Did he cut down his performances to almost nothing? He hasn't been to Mohegan Sun for a while now.

  • gosh for him and his dad its just soo effortless!!

  • I agree with jfktwo. This man is a talent

and brings pleasure to audiences. I saw

him live in A.C. several years ago and

he was wonderful. He's also keeping

the music and memory of his dad alive

    and deserves credit. Obviously doesn't

need the bucks. Keep up the good

    work Frank, Jr.

  • Compare father and son at 65. The son's voice is far more elastic than his Dad's was. But then again, the father was reinventing himself yet again in '76...He was creating a new Sinatra sound.

Frank, Jr is an excellent singer and showman and worthy of a listen. He is also a professional musician and orchestrator as well as a historian. He is similar to but very different from his Dad. A great combination.

  • he sings like it takes no effort, just like his father.

  • he sure went downhill looks wise but then age gets us all in the end. He was quite good looking when he was a kid - wouldn't know it's the same person course he's gained a ton of weight.

  • You homophoebic fool. It's not true; and if it was ... who give a shit!

  • what a bunch of morons on here, cant you just listen, appreciate, or not and quit comparing him to someone else.. He likes the music, does it well period. I'm not my dad either, so what the hell, knock it off and get a life. Keep it up Frankie

  • Frank Jr. sings because he loves to because for sure doesn't he have to be concerned with money and a BIG NAME. I'd love to follow in my fathers foootsteps no matter if I matched up to him or not. Jr. is happy being Frank Sinatra Jr.

  • I saw Frank Jr. at the Fairmont Hotel in SF some years back. It was a small crowd in a small venue that Senior never would have played. I had to feel sorry for him because he was good, but being Frankie Junior is a thankless job, forever being compared to the Statue of Liberty or the Grand Canyon. I wonder if he ever thinks, in retrospect, he should have chosen some other path- acting, directing, composing- anything but singing, where he could never find his own identity.

  • He doesn't look like he is into the songs. He is casually walking around the stage showing little to no emotion to the songs ina few of the clips. Good singer, but not like Frank Sr.

  • Wow! Tough act to follow because Frank Sr. was and still is the best singers of all time. I give his son credit for trying. I would gladly see his show if he appears in my area. Ol' Blue Eyes must be proud!

  • I had a conversation with one of the trumpet players when they were at Mohegan Sun. We were discussing on how Frank Sr. was a natural singer as where Frank Jr. is an educated singer. Frank Jr. does not claim to be his father, he never has and he never will! Just enjoy the music and be thankful that his son takes all of this on the road. I am! Thanks Frank Sinatra Jr.

  • Just cause you can have access to the charts, dont mmean you can do what your DAD did!, TAKE VOICE LESSONS!!! you got the money!!!

  • frank's voice is rounder, fuller and has more power in every register. The vocal timbres are similar however he sons is "sweeter", Frank has more attitude. His son has his own sound.

  • no soul coming out,no spunk.

  • wow I thought it was Frank himself Hes a bit heavier than Frank but for looks and sound Hes a chip off the old block , well done Frank jr a great celebration of ur fathers Life.

  • OMG How would anyone like to follow in Ol Blue Eyes steps. What a shadow to live in. I commend Frank Jr. For not drinking, being a druggie, being plain goofy like so many children of Celebs. Frank Sr and his Nancy must have done something right to have raised this very decent person to keep the image going in such a class act. He sounds so much like his dad, song, speech, looks, I had to look twice and listen a second time. It gives me goosebumps to watch this video.

    Keep it up Frank!!!!

  • i dont really enjoy this, but fair points to whoever said he knows the songs well, because i cannot sing

i cannot learn the lyrics that well, so keep it up frankie jr!

i doubt you could learn 1, 346 songs that your dad did

  • Comment removed

  • I agree.

  • Again, so do I

  • Respect the songs ...and im sure hes a nice guy but its like Frank Nasal Jnr Sinatra. Too nasaly and the voice has no depth.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, but Jr. has a clear'er voice than Frank Sr.

  • He just never put any feeling into his singing..I could never understand this guy.

  • @Atomicflash500 I feel the same. You can't beat your dad

  • @Atomicflash500 It always appears like he's just up there going through the motions to collect a check.

  • I think he is doing a great job and his father would be proud, plus how many legends have their son to carry on their work! Pretty impressive :-)

  • I agree. I like his voice. People just have too high expectations since his dad was the best singer of all time. :)

  • @adamskib18akm i think his father would have been extremely proud if his son could sing but hes awful. just making dough off his fathers name im afraid

  • Jr. was Sr.'s musical director in the later years of the Chairman's life, so he knows the music probably better than anybody. Even though he doesn't quite have his dad's chops, he still does a great job with these songs and is keeping the memory of Ol' Blue Eyes alive and well so that people in my generation can have a chance to see what music was like before it got empty and corporate.

  • Its All there, "Like Father, Liek son"

  • Jr's voice is just like his father's. The problem is the WAY he sings. It seems he didn't LEARN how to sing as well as his father did. He sings like Frank Sr would sing hasn't he ever had singing classes. It seems to me that Frank Jr doesn't like to sing as much as his father did, he doesn't feel the music while he sings the way his father did. This is so sad to me, because I'm only 29 years old and never got a chance to go to one of Frank Sr's concerts.... :-(

  • Sinatra Jr. Does an AMAZING job of re-creating his fathers music. He sounds VERY much like him and as he gets older, looks stunningly very close to dad. We are lucky to him. He keeps his fathers music living!

  • who is this singer?... Sinatra JR?? amazing!..

  • BRAVO JR... YOU'RE NOW THE BEST!!!!

  • You people are missing the point about what Frank Jr is doing and why. The man admits to not being his father, so don't compare them. He does this so all of us can still hear his father's music and arrangements. Quit knocking Jr. and enjoy what he is bringing to us while he still can, because who knows how long he will keep doing it. I for one love when Jr. comes to Connecticut and puts on the show. It's a very enjoyable show and the orchestra is fanstastic!

  • Frank jr voice has that velvet distinct tone that his father once had before. If you listen to SR voice in the early years, before Ava, you would know what I mean. SR lost the edge he once had but adapted by learning to annunciate the words differently thus giving him that edgy voice later in his carrier. I happen to enjoy his performance and I hope to see more of his performances in the future.

  • Maybe he'll do a duets album with Julian Lennon and Dweezil Zappa and it'll be called "Genius isn't Hereditary".

  • Frank Jr. Is a nice fellow... I think he sings well too... He's a fine pianist as well and always has a GREAT orchestra behind him with the AUTHENTIC versions of the charts from his Dad's Library.Tough shoes to fill...

  • Hear, hear. He's a prince of a guy, from my experience. And he knows the music inside and out.

  • ... THE PRINCE OF POLYESTER !!!

  • it´s simply not fair to compare ANYONE with Frank Sinatra.

Frank Jr does a good job, i like his voice

i wish there where more singers like him in the world.

But i can even think of comparing him with his father.

Sometimes to carry a name like that is a heavy burden for a career.

  • He should not be compared to his father. He is a great talent in his own right. His voice is very pleasant and expressive.

  • Frank Sinatra + 100lbs = Frank Sinatra Jr

  • I grew up listening his father and the Kid got a gutsy voice. Thanks

  • I agree 100% when my grandparents were just getting me into sinatra (im only in high school by the ways) I decided to pick up Jr's release "That Face" from 2006 and I have to say I was really impressed with many of the songs it's really too bad he didn't really have the success in music like his father did because he definitely has the talent and its great to see him doing things like this today to help his father live on

  • Frank Jr. is awesome and completely underrated. He should be playing stadiums and I hope he finds a way to transition into that phase.

  • Ehh, I don't think so. His voice is weak and has wayyyy too much vibrato. No strength like Dad's. Oh well.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Frnak's voice always sounded powerful, but Frankie's is weak in comparison.

  • Exactly. Just because he's Frank's son doesn't mean Jr.'s as good as dear ol' dad, or even very talented.

  • Frankie's voice was pretty good when he was younger, but it didn't hold up as well as Frank's did over the years.

  • Mhmm. Even in "Duets II" his voice sounds shakier than 78-year-old Dad's.

  • Frank's voice always had a "punch." Kind of hard to explain but if you've listened to Frank as much as I have, you might know what I mean. Frankie does have a bit too much vibrato, and he doesn't seem into the music as much as his father was. He makes it seem more like it's a job than a great career that it should be.

  • I think the punch would be called power. Jr's voice seems to sound pretty fragile. He looks bored, and has the expression like "when is this gonna be over!?" Sr. loved to sing. That's probably why he didn't retire 'till the very end.

  • I totally agree. I mean, Frank Jr is 64 years old, the same age as Frank was when he did "New York, New York." Frank sounded lightyears more powerful there than Frank Jr. does on any of these performances. Even at his last few concert, Frank's voice did have a power to it. Frank Jr.'s voice is very thin.

  • I agree. It did have some force 40 years ago. I wonder what happened.
