This is an ongoing problem within hospitals. The administration does not consistently respect the nurses. The fact that most nurses are female is also an issue. In addition, nurses are not unionized as other industries are. My daughter is "mandated" to work overtime at her hospital if a nurse calls in sick on her unit. I think this is probably against labor laws.
