  • Professor Lietaer states that: "All patriarchal societies have a monopoly of a centralizing currency, with positive interest rates... which is a concentration device to the top. That means the people who have resources, get even more resources." To me, that's a very ugly system! He contrasts our patriarchal society, with matrifocal societies, which honor feminine values. Matrifocal Societies have a different money system, and it is NOT a monopoly of another kind of currency... (continued below)

  • In a Matrifocal society there is a dual currency system. Two types of money circulate. One is the Patriarchal Currency, that is used as a medium of exchange for things like long distance trade, (i.e. people you are indifferent to). Then there is another currency, that is used locally for exchanges. This "local currency" is created in sufficiency, NOT scarcity. A dual currency system gave these societies economic stability for centuries, and general well being for the "little people"!
