  • Back when regional wrestling was king!!

  • @quinnmcguee No, Jardine was the Spoiler, Super D was the late Scott Irwin

  • Dude u got great stuff here..awesome memories.

  • why self proclaimed?? jerry lawler earned it

  • Imperial Margerine??? lmao!!!!

  • Who were The Destroyer & Super Star?

  • @mrhollister09 super d was scott irwin(longriders) and superstar was bill eadie who would later be the super machine and one of demolition in the wwf

  • Georgia wrestling in 82 .It didn't get much better

  • Buzz was a great heel and Koloff was funny as hell.

  • Ahhh. Love Gordon Solie's "Oh Bruhhther!"

  • Did you know that Buzz Sawyer was the kicker for The Dallas Cowboys in a couple of their games during the replacement season in 1987? Also, he and Troy Aikman are the only two players in Cowboys history to ever wear a #8 jersey. Aikman was drafted in 1989.

  • @lakebay972 actually he was the Punter, the kicker was Kerry Brady.

  • @lakebay972 .......I'm pretty sure that was Buzzy Sawyer who was the punter for the Baylor Bears in the early 80s.

  • @lakebay972 Sorry man, that was a different Buzz Sawyer. The punter was from Tx. and born in '62. Our hero was from FL and born in '59. Hope I didn't burst your bubble too much.

  • @ngrant33 No, they're one of the same. The bio might've been altered so that people wouldn't link him to wrestling and take him more seriously.

  • @ngrant33 No, they're one of the same. The bio might've been altered so that people would take him seriously and not link him to wrestling.

  • @lakebay972 not to beat a dead horse bud, but check out this link.

  • That was a great wrestling card at the Omni on November 7.

  • if you list the top ten feuds in wrestling history, the tommy rich, buzz swayer feud was in my opinion the no. 1 of all time. the memories of the nwa is priceless.

    GOD i miss those days

  • The Super Destroyer seems very intelligent for a guy who wears a ridiculous mask.

  • Buzz Sawyer was awesome! I loved this period when he and Koloff were running roughshod!!!

  • Buzz was fuckin' nuts, wish there was someone like him around today

  • I Loved The Super Destroyer!!--That Superplex was awesome!!--the team of Masked Superstar and The Super Destroyer was the best!!

  • @nettles3 This IS Scott "Hog" Irwin, right?

  • November 7, 1982 (Sunday) Atlanta, GA Omni Coliseum (Paul Jones (01) Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Johnny Rich versus Buzz Sawyer > Brad Armstrong versus Ivan Koloff > Tommy Rich versus Jerry Lawler > Butch Reed versus the Super Destroyer (01) >

  • Ole Anderson & Stan Hansen & Ernie Ladd versus the Iron Sheik & the Samoans (02) (Afa & Sika) > National Heavyweight Title Match: Paul Orndorff over the Masked Superstar* to win the title / Notes: Sonny King managed the Sheik and the Samoans.

  • BUZZ SAWYER BABY!!! I remember this feud like it was yesterday.. I think it shortened both Sawyer & Rich's careers. At least Wildfire won the NWA title for a week long reign.

  • I think this Super Destroyer was Bill Irwin not Scott Irwin

  • This is Scott Irwin.

  • it was Scott! Bill was #2

  • Actually it was Johnny Rich and that video is also one of mine.

  • Does anyone have the episode with "Hacksaw' Butch Reed giving Johnny a gift, which was a pair of electric clipper to cut Sawyer's hair?

  • Damn Buzz was such a great talent. died all too soon

  • The Super Destroyer was pretty awesome

  • His name was Don Jardine. Was also known as The Spoiler.

  • No. This Super Destroyer was Scott Irwin. The brother of Wild Bill Irwin. Jardine was the SD in 70's for Mid-Atlantic.

  • this is gonna drive me crazy. I agree that this SD was not Jardine but this guy has too thin of a built to be Scott Hog Irwin.

  • From what I have read it was Irwin but he does look thin

  • WHO WAS THE DESTROYER?

  • Ah, the good ol' days. Rasslin sucks now.

  • This is when wrestling was wrestling

  • CLASSIC WRESTLING..THE BEST EVER...

  • who was hansen and anderson' mystery partner?

  • Ernie Ladd- I think Ladd may have feuded with the Samoans in Mid South prior to this card

  • That's correct. Ernie was managing them in Mid-South (he would wear a grass skirt over his slacks), but Scandar Ackbar stole them and injured Ladd in the process. This was back when rivalries would cross promotions, which was really cool.

  • does the wwe own the rights to these videos? i would love to see this on wwe classics

  • Loved the Super Destroyer. Great gimmick

  • Dalegrow, can you post some Superstar/Super D tag matches? That Sawyer/Rich footage is awesome!

  • I was thinking last night how Roddy piper would have went over in both world class and memphis. I think he would have ended up a great face in texas with the von erichs and a great heel in Memphis mocking lawler.
