Actually, it's not. Once again, The Power Rangers is based off a live-action traditional Japanese Senti series from the late '70s. All of the footage of the meca-robots (named 'Zords' for the speaking English audieance) and the suited up fighting men are from the Japanese original, which as always was much ,much darker and not at all for kids (Satan was actually a character!).
